Ice Queen Questions

I am looking to do a raid on the Ice Queens Castle and was hoping someone could give me a litte more info then is displayed in the C5 update. First what level is she? Also I read that only a single party can enter the castle at a time and the raid is timed. Is this true? How long do you have have to complete the raid? Any other suggestions you have.

Thanks,

shes lvl 60-66 ish i guess and yes u can only enter with one party then u get a timer of 50 mins i think there r 3 different "stages" which u do to help u kill ice queen
Thanks
There is 1 mroe raid boss in her castle as well as several sets of mini raid like mob sets. Each of them represents an ability she has and thugh you can skip most of them to get to her she is much easier if you kill the mobs because she loses those abilities when the mobs die.
Can she be defeated with a single party. I am assuming this as one group can only get in every 35 minutes. Also where do you get the quest item to get in?
I don't recall the entire quest set but it starts with an ice merchant's dream. Only one party can be in and if you don't kill her in 35 min you get kicked out so you have to do it in that time frame.
My alliance has tried this quite a few times, although unfortunatly we have never been succesfull. To get in each person in ur party will need 10 Silver Hemocytes, which you get by completing "The Otherside of Truth" quest from rafforty at the FL port spot. Once you have done this quest it allows you to collect the Hemocytes via the "Ice Merchants Dream" quest (also from Rafforty) by hunting mobs in FL. I noticed I seemed to get more Hemocytes from the Pronghorns and Buffalos, although all the mobs seem to drop them.

The Ice Queens Castle is a single party raid event with a final boss (the Ice Fairy) and 4 subordinant bosses or groups of mobs on the way to her. Each one of these bosses will make the final boss easier, all are aggro. One decreases M.def, one P.def, one siliences the final bosses healer minions etc. They all hit like raid bosses, so they should be treated like a regular boss - Tank hates, healer heals, recharger recharges, DD's... well they do their thing, sounds simple right :p The final boss is level 60 and the subordinate bosses/mobs are 59, so there is a level limit of 67.

The first of these is a group of approximatly 16 8xHP mobs with VERY high P.def. The first person to aggro them will be petrified (like Para but they take 0 damage), so we usually have the tank aggro them and leave it for 10-20 seconds before purifying them so that they dont need healing and saving the healers MP. Obviously all the DD's assist one person so this group is pretty easy and doesnt take too long.

The 2nd group consists of lots of gargoyle type mobs, which appear to be bugged, because they seem to respawn as quickly as they die. We nomally bypass these, stay close the the left wall and try not to aggro them.

The 3rd group are bear type mobs that can have very uncontrollable aggro, so make sure you throw up lots of hate. But they arnt normally too much of a problem, just try and conserve MP for later on.

The 4th boss is a more traditional type mini raid boss with no minions, however you may well find that by the time you get to here you have only a few minutes on your buffs and your healer/rechargers dont have alot of MP left. Your healer and recharger will need at least 2/3's MP for this boss. When the boss gets down to around 10% HP it has a nasty habit of casting AoE cancel and aggro-ing unpredicatbly. If you rebuffed just before this boss then your buffer might not have enough MP to rebuff fully. I've never had good drops from this boss (best was 9 BoP shafts), but its all about making the final boss easier.

Once you've managed to kill this last subordinate boss your party will have little MP, and I imagine you will need to regen some MP and possibly rebuff before the Ice Fairy. She has 4 minions, two healers (which should be silienced from one of the subordinate mobs you killed) and 2 DD's. Its best to kill the DD minions but leave the healers alive, as when they respawn the healers wont be silienced, and they can heal the boss back up very quickly. We made this mistake and the healers respawned when the boss was at 50% and healed the boss back up to full HP without any trouble :( The tank should save his UD for when ur healers and rechargers are low on MP, then you can time it so that u all cast UD and Invocation at the same time (both last 30 seconds). Like I said we never managed to kill the Ice Fairy, but we learnt quite a bit. The trickiest thing is finding the right classes at the right level, idealy 62+ with A grade.

Propbably the best set up would be Tank, Bish, EE, WC, BD and 4 archers. Or you could swap the archers for Destroyers and cycle frenzy. Im not sure how nukers manage (the mobs might be weak to fire as they seem Ice/Snow based), but the only way to lower the Mdef of the Fairy is to kill the Gargoyle group, that appear to be bugged  The biggest factor is having enough MP for the healers/rechargers, so they should take Conversion weapons, BW/Majestic robes and lots of MP Elixiers.

Have fun! ;)
Have you ever tried AoEing the gargoyles, i.e. making sure they all drop at the same time?

I believe this only happens if you use single target magic attacks. We went in with a melee group and didnt have them respawn at all. These are the most important for a mage group though, because I believe they take away the magic resistance on the queen.
Afaik, if you use skills on the Gargoyles, they keep spawning. I was on a Prophet there a long time ago so dont really remember if it was just physical skills or also magical.

I had heard it was ONLY single target magic attacks, but I havent tested it my self. As a melee party, they were quite easy. Too bad they only reduce magic defense of the queen.
