Newbie Shots & No grade shots

Well my search kung-fu is terrible here, so I figured i'll ask the pros. I'm fairly new to the game & now 17th lvl as of last night. I have all these crazy shots.. Obviously I should be using them, but thought I read somewhere that they could be sold or traded in for a better weapon? Dont know, nor can i find that post. So now im wondering if I should be usuing these things like crazy before I become a Palus Knight at 20th. Please advise this Dark elf fighter.

use them. The shots can't be traded for a better weapon and once you upgrade to D grade (which first comes available at lvl 20) you will not be able to use them and won't be able to sell them. Well, you could try.

So use them.
Soulshots double your physical damage. when you swing your sword, a soulshot will double the inflicted damage.

Spiritshots will increase Magic damage. it will also marginally increase cast speed. non-grade shots are only usable on non-graded weaponry - consequently the same rule applies for all graded gear - D shots for D gear, C for C, etc etc.

using them can be fun, but PLEASE watch your usage. if you cannot afford to buy more, or you need better weaponry to begin with, try not to use soulshots.

soulshots are not used to upgrade/trade weapons. you may go to a weapon or armor dealer and ask them about "equipment exchange" to pay the DIFFERENCE in gear price for all armor and weapons under D grade.
You can't sell novice shots - they are non-transferable. You may be able -technically- to sell them to NPCs, but I'd surprised if the sell value is more than 0 adena.

So use them, but be careful; it may become an addiction ;)
Great! And thanks for the good advice. I think i have about 16,000.. so I'll go take it out on those Rat People here in Gludin. Lastly. I've been finding all these recipes and selling them cause I cant for the life of me figure out how to use them. Does it have something to do with that strange looking
"burning tongs" icon/symbol in my character skills section??
Thanks for the help!

the common craft recipes (the recipes that can be used by everyone) are NEON GREEN. if your recipes are NOT neongreen, they are for dwarves only.

right click the recipe to register it to your recipebook, and open your recipebook with the burning tongs.
WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH SPUDNIK?
lolz
The newbie shots can only be thrown in your trash, not dropped, not sold to npcs, not traded, etc. So spam 'em like crazy :) If you do all the quests you should have more than enough to spam to 20.
Most of the recipes that you get at lower levels are useless. But material recipes, you should keep or sell to other players. Recipes such as coarse bone powder, steel, molds, varnish of purity, that sort of stuff.

WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH SPUDNIK?

Exactly!
