So I spot an orc in Aden asking for a BD so i assume they're going to do some big time xping. With my crazy game playing times and no clannies available, I seize the opportunity and asks if he needs a Healer. That's when I get the response "don't need healers anymore not when you can box VR ftw."
WHAT!? Yeah, sure, tell me that when your group is falling one by one and you can't get on your boxed SE in time to heal. Or when PVP suddenly hits you by surprise...though in which case the healer usually drops first but at least their cp dropping is a good warning is it not!?
Lamer.
And yeah, the party matching system thing seems to be a waste of space. Every time I click it either someone is using the **** thing to sell their **** or I am the only name on there. Whatever happened to people grouping with randoms for the fun of it?
If there are any people on Devianne who still enjoy some EE company...your voice is needed. And a group invitation please xD
Lol...I didn't say I didn't like aoe groups. That's the best part of the freaking game and nothing is more exciting than keeping the group alive and getting good xp while you're at it.
No no...I am ranting about the sudden lack of people wanting healers for such random groups. You would think the group matching system would help for clan-less or even clanned people to find people to exp with. I've yet to see that.
That comment about healers not being needed anymore was just the icing on my monday cake.
I already heard that too. Boxed SE + CH buffs = we apologize for your heartlifting uselessness, Ô dearest Healer of the many wounds. (that's more "sorry, no need healer" but you get the point).
Some here will say "Oh that's very odd because myself I have a boxed SE, a boxed EE and if there's the smallest elpy without party, I invite them illico!", but in fact, besides clannies, the only way I found to get parties without waiting too long is in Rift. Lots of people there, parties are created and dropped, they need a healer for the RB and more generally in any room it's more comfortable to have a healer (I don't know for lower level rifts).
Otherwise, I've been doing pole parties with clannies that are up to 15 level higher than me. And it's pretty incredible how healers can group with parties far above their levels. Rechargers clearly can't, and all tanks and DD neither.
For the party matching, I used it once or twice, unsuccessful. I was alone. I assume it's well used on Asian servers, but western individualism pushes players to find solutions to solo the more than they can (like dualboxing).
Too bad about your weird playing times. Your best bet is to just keep your eyes open for someone with the same playing times as you... a mage will be your best bet probably. Don't expect to find pick up groups in this game much anymore. I could run around Aden shouting LFG and nobody would invite me either.
To the OP... Orcs have almost never needed a healer for solo work, not if they have VR.... Even when I was a teenager (early 40s) I had orcs tell me that, tho sometimes they took pity on my need for help to level and let me tag along. And that's just what I did too... cuz they really didn't need my heals.
Yes the healer thing is frustrating. First VR, then GHP's from Dawn/Dusk Priests, then castle produced QHP's, then HP elixirs, and cp pots faster than you can almost see being spammed.
At least in clan they all know (or should know) **** well that there will be NO PVP without PVE so useless or no, into a group you go.

Well, I am constantly looking for a good EE for his clarity and resist shock when in party, especially rift as in there an EE, SE duo would be great along with a WC would be great. :)
My bishop can always find a party in and out of clan within 20 minutes of my logging in. I have over 15 people on my friends list (non-clan members) and I normally get a PM asking to join them. Most of them box an SE so they can do small groups and alt+tab and heal when they're alone, once my bishop turns up things get interesting.
I'm on Sieg btw, so if anyone needs a live healer in the 40's, just PM me on the forums. ^^
I added an SE to my FList yesterday - they're admittedly not my favourite live buffer to party with on my current main (since they add just about nothing except recharges, which I could just as well get from the pony), but you never know when you'll be grabbing that pole on a similar level alt and suddenly want one.
I totally agree. I found most people because every time a grp disbands for the day or whatever, I just shout in the cat/nec I'm currently in and more often than not you get an invite.
I was in a group with a glad last night at mid 40's and was pulling nearly 40% per buff run (just the two of us and his boxed SE for buffs). He's my new best friend.
Dont worry. The problem is not with healer.
I have the same problem with a Tank (SK lvl 69).
I only get some exp because friends are help me. I need wait until any friend (around 3) get online to part me.
But now i bought a second account to make a SE (it is lvl 19 now :)) and i will try AOE when it hit A-Grade. Until there no hope for good exp for me.
The other problem is when i get a good party i cant play for 4 or more hours because i have job and family to care. Always Real Life first. The game is to relax. But this game above lvl 61 is not for casual players. The dual box will be my last shot.
An advise to new player: dont make tanks they are useless and die with 2 or 3 (some times 1) hit against a nuker at same level :( This is not fair.
At level 40 even I had no problem at all getting parties all the time. The pain comes when you are much higher level, in a pvp clan where you CAN'T shout for a group because you have max wars. That would be pretty funny though.
But again in that case, you should get your groups from clan. But if you are like me with 2, maybe 3 hours to play, you just level your sub all the time because parties generally don't want a healer that lasts only 1 hour (after taking an hour to form).
Healers are useless, reroll while u still can :>
*mutters about idiots and fools*
Here is an idea: All you SE/Necros with BTM try this. Bring a bishop in a duo to a wonderful hunt spot. Bring your boxed SE if you want for emp, or not, doesn't matter.
Kill mobs as fast as you can and do BTM constantly, as soon as it resets do BTM. Let the bishop trance the mob or heal you if it is charging when you BTM, they can. The bishop heals as you btm and does crowd control.
Think about it, what is the reset on BTM, 10 seconds, 15 seconds? If you are ~lvl 50 you get 35 mp per btm so you will get 140-210 MP per minute from max BTM, or 8400-12,600 MP per hour in addition to your own MP generation and any mana pots you find.
You will probably want the bishop to help carry your shots because you will be Exping so fast your only constraints will be how many shots you can carry....bishop=never ending mana.
I think Healers have it pretty good honestly being in the best exp in game parties (That being Pole) and always being wanted in PvP/Raids.
I mean, you could look at other classes who wish they had the grouping potential of a Healer.
The post points more toward the fact that, regardless of class almost, grouping in general with non guild/alliance folks is fast disappearing. (Granted some classes bypass that easily, grats to them ^-^)
Yes, we're awesome in pvp (where you lose exp) and in raids (where you get the crappiest exp on the planet in the tank group) or in epic raids (where you die a lot).

just because YOU dont know how to make money doesnt mean everyone else doesnt either
Ive found the best money to come from actual leveling (or rather, killing mobs) than "playing the market" (Which more or less translates to "profiting on the fact that people ebay" for all you "i am legit and play the market" people)
The key is to go beyond breaking even on soulshots. The more patk you have, the more crit rate you have, the more crit dmg buffs you have, the more money you make
While a tyrant and a destroyer have roughly the same damage output (When not in 30% skills) the tyrant looses money at a wild rate, while the destroyer makes a decent profit due to swinging slow and hard
On my BD (huge crits, good patk, decent crit ratei spend about 30% of my adena income from mobs on soulshots.
If you count mats, key mats, quest items, recipes etc, i spend about 20% of the money i make on shots, thats actually a decent amount of money. I make a few mil pr evening of grinding

How about...
Bring you SE bot with you. Load her up with 3k shots, 3k cursed bones, some Magic Haste Potions, some healing potions (400a each, only if you want - the SE can heal just find).
Go hunt non-stop, spamming B2M, and using healing potions. Get the shots and bones you need from the SE. If you're in A Grade and using CDL, you can carry an insane number of shots along with your other supplies - if you're bold, every kill will be a 1 shot (since you can use healing potions to B2M down to low HP repeatedly).
Enjoy not having a healer leach XP - as if you need a Bishop to be a healer for you B2M. You can invite a D grade nuker into party buy him some DBSpS, and he/she'd be more than adequate for that purpose and not leech as much XP.
Buy him a +1 CON/-3 STR Tat and let him carry some shots for you.

I agree. Every second I waste sitting in Giran is 1000 adena wasted. I could be killing mobs and making a nice profit. No one said you needed to be the Bill Gates of L2. You just need to break even, and make a little bit more on top of that.
The only problem where players have issues with prices are in D and C grade, where the leveling grounds does not yield enough income for them to break even and save up for the gear they need in that grade. Clan Oath helps for D grade, but IIRC you have to be in an academy to wear it so the minute you do the second class change you are once again nekkid - and people don't pay that much for clan oath due to the relative ease in acquiring it.
Once you get to B Grade, though, you can make good money and eventually save up for your own items. Clans can also help since some people donate upgraded weapons/etc. to clan warehouse - but that's rare since most people will sell their gear to afford the next grade. Prices kinda hinder some of the benefits of clans, but it is still possible since some people are independently wealthy.
Yes, we're awesome in pvp (where you lose exp) and in raids (where you get the crappiest exp on the planet in the tank group) or in epic raids (where you die a lot).
I'll take your healer rant and raise it with a tank rant. Gotta love that massive raid xp combined with the extremely good chance of death. And in pvp ... pfft ... just starting to be able to compete.
Yes you got me there :) But if I let you go down, chances are I'm next and the rest of the raid party as well.
And as far as whether one can afford to spam heal pots constantly or not isn't the point for those others bringing it up, it's that people can and do that ticks us off. Of course no one will care until healers can pop a scroll and get 30 mins of HE level archery skills for 100k or whatever.
I just gave up on and/or lost interest in partying with nukers and orcs.... Seems the only time I talked to them is when they were dead and needed a rez :) But i pretty much always had parties all through my leveling. I was in great clan for a long time, and when that fell apart with the new alliance rules, i had a nice friend list... The key to healers leveling up is a good clan/alliance. period. :)
Well, if and when my orc catches up to you you'll have a leveling partner (Assuming my bishop partner isn't on. She'd kill me if I went for another one)
Experience is raids is bad anyway. Not only do they need to share it with everyone raiding, but they also need to increase the experience from raiding by a lot.
Clan Oath helps for D grade, but IIRC you have to be in an academy to wear it so the minute you do the second class change you are once again nekkid - and people don't pay that much for clan oath due to the relative ease in acquiring it.
You can wear D clan armor from lvl 20 and for as long as you like, if you are in an academy. If you GRADUATE from the academy you can wear it at will when you are 40+ and changed your class and such, if you QUIT the academy (regardless of what level) you wont be able to reequip it, although it doesnt get deequipped so you can just keep on wearing it
Also, the price isnt really an issue, the crystals you get for crystalizing it is the same amount that you had to pay to get it, so the price of the armor is essentially 0
The problem is finding a healer when you need one. Through many levels as a warsmith I soloed with no buffs or healing. It was exasperating and I vowed never again. When I finally subclassed a SH, I had a level 40 boxed SE waiting. It goes with me everywhere, and is within half a level of the SH (more deaths caused the difference).
Now I don't have to complain when all the SEs in my clan go to bed at midnight, but I want to play until dawn. However, there is a price to pay. Since I want my SE to be near the level of my subclass, I always use it when leveling the subclass. That means I don't party with clan SEs when I am on my subclass. Also I don't play my main (maestro) very often since in a duo with a healer we could not make much XP or do the quests I need for S grade recipes.
For me it is simply the need to have a dependable partner, and I seem to be the best person for me to duo with.

Yes, but I'm usually the person who runs clan oath quests for academy members, and we don't ask for the armor back to crush it and do it again. Instead, we allow them to keep the armor and sell it off in order to afford their C grade/spellbooks/whatever else.
Weapons and non-CO sets, well... That's a totally different story.
Hi. Well... I'm SE... but who wants to share exp in a server like this one???? after 76 you must kill 3 mobs to have 0.01%! Double lol! If is possible to have a healer without party... why not??? ... I'm 66 since...... X Months ago!
Personally I do not think about seiges at all, not my cut of tea as I have better things to do.
PvP sure...
A SE for buffs? Uhm scrolls are enough if you saved up on those.
Rez with an SE? Nah those with a Clan hall get a 50% rez. (exit SE stage right for rez there).
Me being a SH now is a lot more fun now. You melee/mages can go shot the moon for all I care. We healers basically shine best during raids/polearm parties anyway (my opinion). Trick is to have a live 1 willing to get there and willing to play a healer 24/7. (A clannie bishop subbed an archer now and he is having a ball if not mistaken.)
Those that play a healer/buffer gratz and more power to you. I have put the SE I have (my main for a long time) on the side-line. I am getting my sub up first and do the noble quest after (clan-ally-events excluded) before I would be active on my SE for others.
Unfortunately cleric classes are so gimp in L2, that almost everyone who play one, either quit (worst case) or reroll (better scenarion). They are necessary, but soooo *yaaaawn* boring to play. EEs and Bishops still retain higher percentage of live players still.
Well, atleast the SO to SE has the funny part of 1 skill.
I have never used this skill on the PPS when I leveled a dark mystic to SE there. But when I was busy with the class change quest this skill become mandatory.
Any guess?
"Disrupt Undead" yup.
If you do not learn or refuse to learn this skill you are stranded to never become a SE. Love that little fact.
Maybe one day we see updates to that skill again since we ARE to learn it as a SE to be?
yeah I used that skill till like 53, then it failed too much. I was soloing in Dragon Valley mostly.
But you deplete mana on mobs within 3 minutes, then rest 15 ... no fun, slow, tedious, and what's even worse now you cannot be recharged by another recharger. So even if they upgrade this skill,. won't help much :(
I used to love when i would take my 6x TH to seiges and raids, and when people would tell me i needed to come on my SE, i would refuse. ****** off my clan leader so badly that I wouldn't play my buffer for them, but they never partied it either. Without 2 boxes+overlords, you would be screwed at seiges
So I spot an orc in Aden asking for a BD so i assume they're going to do some big time xping. With my crazy game playing times and no clannies available, I seize the opportunity and asks if he needs a Healer. That's when I get the response "don't need healers anymore not when you can box VR ftw."

I was just leveling at Forgotten Gateway, solo as usual, since no parties anymore. A Glad along with his SE pet drops dead, SE pet comes back with a brez. Gets a bit of aggro, roots and runs over to me to ask for my help to get to the Glad to rez. I say "I'm an SE". Anyways, I decide to help, as a few people have rezzed me when I needed it, not a brez but anything is better than nothing for me. So we run out and I grab and battle the aggro, meanwhile the SE uses the scroll to brez the Glad. The tow hitch clicks and now the buffpet train is rolling again. Not that I was really looking for it nor expecting it, but wouldn't it have been a better Thank You to ask if I'd like to party vs just a "ty"?
Live MAIN healer and buffer classes are dead. And buffpets are the main reason (buffscrolls don't help any either), not because the game "made" players use them, but because players chose to play that way. Greed.
Live MAIN healer and buffer classes are dead. And buffpets are the main reason (buffscrolls don't help any either), not because the game "made" players use them, but because players chose to play that way. Greed.
Buffbots are the symptom, not the cause. Bad game design + Bad players + Weak Management = cause.
Bad game design = Overpowered Ranged classes. RPS 'system' makes no sense unless the 'opposite force' has as much of an "I win" button as their prey. Except this is not the case in L2. Nukers wthpwn healers almost as much a healers own MP regen/consumption does. And since partying 'with' a ranged class as a (buffer/healer) is boring as all hell, (normal solo type grind) no 'live healer' cares to do it. Thus the boxing of those chars by the ranged classes.
Bad Players = Ebayers and 'hardcore pvpers'. And there is indeed a big crossover of the two. Ebay is bad not only because of the people botting for it, but also because it removes the incentive to party together and work towards a goal. (Buying or Crafting.) Who needs *any* support class when you can just 'buy' all the gear and buffs and heals you need with eb'd adena? Which pretty much goes 'ditto' for the dwarves. Now throw in the insanely low drops, but 'encourage' people to spam shots 24x7, and you get a BIG turnoff for people who suddenly hit the 'adena grind' but have little to no support from other players/clans and are strongly 'pressured' to either quit or ebay. (Join the crowd.)
And finally Bad management. NC needed to aggressively and ruthlessly ban and delete botters, ebayers and farmers right from the very beginning. And YES this includes 'live' farmers. It doesn't matter if they are 'playing' the game, if they are disrupting the ability of others to enjoy the game as well they need to get the ban stick just as much. Farmers holding beast farm hostage for example. No 'real' players can do this 24x7x52 and thus they are not players and need to be dealt with severely. Blah, blah, within the game, blah, blah, players should deal with it themselves, blah, blah...F'No! That's just an excuse. GIVE THEM THE BOOT! It does not matter if they aren't using third party software and there is a 'live' person behind that keyboard. They are very much disrupting the game for other players...those who you should want to be playing (and paying the monthly fees!) and NOT the third party money sellers.
And many of those people will (and have!) quit because of the inability to deal with the botters and farmers on a timely basis. (And no, it's not just NC, out of game sellers are really becoming a noxious force in games all throughout the industry these days.)
So, yeah it's great that NC eventually throws the ban down (I think just this past week another round went through.) But it looks more and more like it's a case of too little, too late as most of the damage has been done. (80/80/80 chars all over w/full Boss Jewels, etc.)
Live MAIN healer and buffer classes are dead. And buffpets are the main reason (buffscrolls don't help any either), not because the game "made" players use them, but because players chose to play that way. Greed.
You keep saying that and its complete and utter BS.
If I said... Hey, you can work at a desk job, just sitting down, for $50,000 a year.. OR you could work on the factory line for $20,000, which would you choose? Perhaps you would choose the Factory line because you are of a "hive mind" like the asian's you so adore, but not me.
The same can be said of Lineage 2. We didnt make the game, we are presented with a choice of what to do.
Do we box a buffer, and not have it whine, [censored], moan, complain, go afk constantly, not want to do its job?
OR do we box our own buffer who does none of the above? Tough choice I know.
Why dont you stick with one liners and just be bitter about it. Its about the only thing your good at.

Just the opposite, actually. It's people with boxed buffers who do more monotonous jobs in L2 and lose more money on L2 accounts.

I love it. I have just been PKd by the very same player who i helped get his buffpet get to his sorry [censored] to get brez'd, because I said he was botting. Not only is it ok to bot a pet, but it' ok to pk live healer/buffers as well, who helped your buffpet brez you. Obviously if I had known said buffpet was a buffpet, I would have NEVER healped, but I'm an optimistic fool.
If someoen told me I was botting, I'd probably PK them to prove a point as well. The line between boxing and botting is pretty bloody fat, and the way you toss the two about in the same context costs your accusation credibility. :p
ETA: There is no job in playing L2 - but playing without box is definitely more monotonous, as you have less to do. Controlling two characters (or one more complex class) definitely makes the game more fun, although also more taxing - sometimes I just want to kick back and relax, in which case someone else taking care of everything and just DDing is the ticket. ;p
Boxing is botting, there is NEVER a player behind the buffpet 100% of the time. And if I help a boxing player, help his pet get him a brez, an SE same lvl as myself, get to his sorry bloody [censored], and then the same [censored] pks me, that's ok I guess... Again, fool players will end this game and continue to do so. Thankfully there are a few kind souls out there. One of whom helped me in this particular situation. You keep thinking I'm "whining" about only myself. I only care about the game and where it's headed, down the toilet, all because of blind self centered fools.
Botting is not about the presence of the player - my boyfriend tabs out to troll between dances, does that mean his group is botting a BD? Yeah, right. It's about whether or not 3rd party software is used to faciliate gameplay - since someone two-boxing still meets all the challenges of playing at all clients manually, they are hardly botting. There are also plenty of people using bot programs without having more than one account.
So I spot an orc in Aden asking for a BD so i assume they're going to do some big time xping. With my crazy game playing times and no clannies available, I seize the opportunity and asks if he needs a Healer. That's when I get the response "don't need healers anymore not when you can box VR ftw."

Buffers have it worse; so we feel the pain mutually. Nothing we can do though. Hope you get a good enough clan to play with you I guess =/ NC won't help us :P And players are getting worse every chronicle about this.
I don't deny anyone anything, I log in both chars, exp for 2, maybe 3 hours and log out. If I actually had a live SE asking for party that would be different, but I don't. And I don't have the gaming time to shout for even 30 mins for one, and of course most don't want a party for such a short amount of time.
