MP problems with BD dances

I'm level 55 and unable to keep 3 dances up. Is it going to get any better (without recharing, MP reg buff, robes,...)? I really like BD but the MP problem seems serious, so many skills and I can't use them.
learn how to play the class!!!
In other words 2 dances, right?
u llv 55 u only need 2 dance at lvl 58 u can keep the 3rd one like nothing just dont use any skills,
u patck is like a dd u dont need to use sting or the other cool things they got just dance and hex once in awhile that all u need to do
if u dont like this then dont post or reroll
Maybe you should try different approaches to see which one allows you for the best mana management. I haven't played a BD but managing MP bar is vital to all classes, especially when hunting solo.
wait til you party with a sword singer, then you will get ****** off...

but on my sws i remember it was roughly ~lvl55 when i could keep 3 up just about (herbs help), and sometimes walking insteading of running from mob to mob.

just make sure you got your next focus mind at lvl55
The BD only has 2-3 dances thats anywhere useful for a fighter at 55 so you basically only need to keep the 2 best dances up and you'll be fine.
When you get higher you'll get a higher MP pool and that will help you keep more dances up as you get more useful dances ^^
The thing you have to do yourself is work out a tactic in when you need what and where based on your location/ hunting ground/ Buffs/ partymembers classes (ie have one that is content in just healing and recharging you can keep that extra dance up, if not just pick the most beneficial dances for the party)
It kind of comes to you once you've gone a buffround or two at a new area and old areas? Well you should remember what you needed but if not its no porblem, you'll figure it out after a while ^^

Sidenote:
I see no reason to be rude about this. Its impossible for anyone to peer into the future to see how the class and its skills will be then so this is a fair question for someone in doubts. Especially not if the person is somewhat new to the game.
The argument "learn to play you class or take of" aint very valid either. Hell there are legit 75+/75+/75+ that still dont know their classes properly lol
I aint saying that you do, but if you dance before the "dance-buffs" has dissapeared then it will cost you close to double the MP, just a hint:)
Hello,
Welcome to the world of Dances and Songs!

I have a level 53 Swordsinger, and I actually carry 2 different sets of equipment (switch between them using macros)...

* Fighter mode:
Blue Wolf Heavy armor set, for solo grinding and teaming with a few people.
.
* Singer mode:
Doom robe set, when I party on teams with my higher level friends, or teaming in large parties with several damage dealers.

In my "Fighter mode", 3 songs will eventually wear down my MP. Herb drops help alot for solo grinding.

In "Singer mode", I can maintain 3 songs all the time easily. The extra MP regen bonus, increased max MP, and the +MEN from Doom robes helps alot.

I even re-augmented my weapon 3 times until I got an +MP regen from it.

While I am less damaging and more squishy in "Singer mode", on large DD teams, the extra benefits from maintaining songs (especially the +100% crit from Song of the Hunter) helps easily compensate for my slightly reduced personal damage output.

If you are in catacombs, you can almost manage 4 songs consistently (Song of the Hunter, Song of Warding, Song of Invocation, and Song of Life) by singing, and then sitting down.

Odd as this may sound, depending on the team makeup, you are better off as a buffer than as a melee fighter... particularly when your damage output is meager compared to your teammates (partying with higher level friends, or with a few daggers/archers).

Sing some and be a full fledged fighter.
Sing more and still feel free to be in the thick of melee in robes! Sing even more and sit your butt down as a dedicated buffer.

It's alot of fun, running around in robes and being a dedicted singer. And, honestly, I am finding that I am in "Singer mode" a majority of the time, almost all the time when I am on teams. And while the teams are surprised, I have never heard any complaints once they see the songs in action.

Only once has the sh-t hit the fan, when the team drew way too much aggro. With my macro, I quickly switched into "Fighter mode", sang (drawing some aggro to me), hit Ultimate Defense, and helped keep things under control.

Just my 2 adena.

Thanks, thats the kind of replies you are expected to get.
Hes a SWS (and frankly using alot of utterly useless songs), your a BD.

Your going to be drawing Agro alot. Especially with the right setup. Robes isnt exactly the best solution especially when you dont need it.

Remember, dont do crap dances. No one wants Inspiration or some crap like that. Fire, Fury early on (warrior too if no other singer/dancer).

You shoudnt have any problems with mana as long as your doing it right without the need to put on robes.
*Sigh*

I was hoping to avoid this... BD dancing 101....

I newest to play a BD, even played one at lvl 77.
I played a live one from 40-62. and rerolled a new one up to 40 again.

While playing a BD it's mind full that if your in a party with a SwS the best dance rotation is: dance, dance, song, dance, song. If a SwS sings before you dance hold off of dancing for two min's, and bit ch them out!!

Firstly BD in group with SwS has bad mana management, and they have marginally lower MP regen then SwS. The only time this will change is after lvl 77 when SwS gets it's 2 best songs. (renewal, meditation) And Both classes can o/e skills for cost.

Never Ever Dance over already placed song's/dance's unless you're in a really tite squeeze and your dances are fading off. cause doing so will cost you dearly in mp.

after 58 BD is awesome you can keep up all 3 even some times 4 daces, and hex.

in order for a BD to be efficient, you need to keep several things on your hot bar: UD, hate (aggression), Hex, 5 min life HP pots (elixir's), GHP, sting (for pvp), Arrest (will save alot of peoples [censored] 'trust me on this'), Macro.

I used Macros for my dances. Note: dances cast time is effected by how fast your atk speed is. So after you hit 58 your first dance should always be fury, then warrior or fire. What I did was (encase if I failed to get of my macro) I keeped fire as my last dance in my macro, and keep fire on my second hot bar.

Some people say not to use Macro cast they break, and there is a small delay between each one, but that delay is good when you have a SwS in party gives them time to set off their two songs. Hence why Fury is best first in macro.

Sting is rarely used, and mostly only for over-hits, or in PvP. Some times on really hard mobs that are Phys resist.

Let me Tell ya, in all my time playing I never died, I only died in PvP and in serious lag, and even in lag I could still live most of the time. I get bored of the mind nubming grind, so I pull a whole room of 60 + mobs on my *** just to have some fun and lose my boredom!

Remember that BD lives off of crts, so get a good pair of o/e crt duals. and wack away with VR you'd be a very good tank. In pvp atk speed is your best bet.

BTW BD plays differently then SwS, BD have to have duals to dance SwS can sing with any weapon. However BD has 2 great skills that make them awesome in AoE.

Which is the reason why I said "learn to play your class", cause they literally have 4+ play styles!(pole, bow, duals, etc)
Inspiration > Warrior in pole parties or parties in level spots above them. By a margin. x.x

I'd say Con is better then both to be honest.

Although frankly the extra accuracy from Inspiration has never helped me, even being a Archer and hunting Red mobs without Hawkeye active, I hardly ever miss.

Ours is usually Fire/Fury/Earth/Hunter/Con. Just makes the Bishop's job easier :)
a very very small margin...and if your poling in a place where that becomes a factor, perhaps you should shift elsewhere?

What 3 dances are you keeping up? If you are solo, then you only need fire + warrior. How fast does your mana drain? If it slowly drains, then you "could" use elixers to refill on mana. This is probably not very cost effective, but it would work.

At lvl 70 I was able to hold 3 dances and hex like 2/3 of the mobs. Hexing all mobs would result in a very slow mana drain. I only use sting on mobs with high pdef, and only usually when I get more than 1 on me.

Depends, now that I got Warrior, Fire and Light when fighting undead. Otherwise Inspiration, Fire and Warrior. Inspiration isn't a must.
Berofe I made a mistake by dancing everytime a dance fades away, now I wait till all fade away. I play in a small party usually, 2 or 3.

If one of those 3 is a prophet, then have them buff holy weapon for the undead. Remember that holy weapon doesnt stack with dance of light. It is almost always preferable to have holy weapon over light.

Another trick to it is to dance the extra dance every other dance round. This gives you one round to regen mana.
Well, you need 58 (I think) before you can really juggle 3 dances. Anwyays, enjoy your time now with only 2, you will have plenty of time to get REALLY bored with 3 dances :)
Could be worse. You could be a SwS. We only get to sing 2 when partied with a BD most of the time.

Actually, we usually opt for the songs over the dances. Fury, Fire, Earth, Hunter, Warding / Wind. I guess it all depends on the mobs we are fighting and where we are fighting at the time.

This is where you're wrong!

In case you forgot, in Interlude they lowered the effects of deaths whisper, and Fire. To lvl with this change in order to keep your P df and dmg up as high as possible with this neirf you must always have Warrior up.

I assure you from playing before the Neirf and after it, I know what I'm talking about, you need warrior.

insper only adds 3 to acc.
wait till they fade to redance
get a BW heavy +6 set, and you will have no problems with mana regen :)

MP is tough early on but will definitely get ten times easier later. There is a focus mind passive you get as you level up increasing your mp regen rate. You will eventually be able to hold up four songs and hex often without really thinking about mp much. So hang in there. ^^ At early levels don't be afraid of walk mode either if you aren't the tank, it's not a huge help but it can be useful.

To whoever said use a macro, that is the last thing you should do. A BD should be manually dancing and able to switch dances fast if needed, as well as change the dance order for a few rounds if someone messed up the song/dance pattern, because trust me, that will happen often as ppl dont pay attention or other random excuses.

True. Typical duo I roll with is Hunter & Earth with Fire, Vampire, Fury. That's for standard parties. I'll toggle Holy Blade with my Dragonslayer if there's undead. No need for the whole party to be gimped on Divine mobs 5 seconds later, and that DragonSlayer goes through the undead ones pretty fast.

AOE party we usually do without the BD, I use Earth, Life and Wind, I kite the pull since I'm faster on foot than anyone, polers pull the aggro off me when I come back in.
