technical problems arise because of bad computer up-keep.
my new PC installed L2 smooth as glass, fullest settings, and i downloaded the patch with 0 problems.
all because i know how to keep a good PC in working order.
i suspect your New PC was an off-the-shelf brand name which are known to have issues when the Memory meets the RAM. lots of critical errors means you are running with poorly maintained Pagefiles and Video card drivers.
assuming you have a video card, download the newest drivers and install them AS THE MANUFACTURER DEMANDS. do not go and do the regular install-on-download like so many people think you can do safely.
when your Disk is telling you that you have to check it, you probably havent done a Defragmentation, or Disk Cleanup, or Disk check in a long time. likely you have installed 350 or more gigs of music/games/movies and never once considered defragmenting.
naw my brother who is one of those (computer guys) he made this computer with top of the grade stuff i have been able to turn grafics to the highest of every game i have played on this computer with no problems.

already done disk clean up and defragmentation :) still same problem.
Spud does have some good points about technical issues but won't hear a bad thing said about the game, it has some issues that's for sure but pinning them down is always a bit of fun.
Like he said make sure the graphics are up-to-date etc and contact support if you get stuck.
Also im almost sure its not my hard ware or why was the game running beautifuly before this patch now i can't even download it....
Also im sorry im not one of thsoe people who has fun fixing problems :( i just don't have time to learn stuff about computers
mabye if this games doesnt work ill look for a class between hours of 8:00-10:00 pm
Well im gona try re installing Lineage II but if they doesnt work im most defantly canceling account :(
I liked the game for the 2 weeks but it has so many problems that i havnt seen on any other game.
Never had to contact via phone before as in the UK, that'd cost a pretty penny that call. But if you look at the menus on the left hand side there is a support button. Go via there and you can contact them through a submission there.
Also wouldn't hurt to post this in the "Technical forum" plenty of people in there willing to help.

Thats why I always donwload a copy of the current release extract(from fileplanet). That way it wont take as long if I have to reinstall. Anyone know if they ever fixd those memory leaks?

i started 2 weeks ago....
First it wouldn't work on new computer then randomly after trying odd things it did.
Second I have had alot of critical errors and other small anyoing problems.
Thrid this new patch won't download on new computer!!!! WHY!!

ok im sorry ill explain I have old disks and for some reason i was only getting the C2 updater then nothing(problem on installing on new computer) then randomly it worked and ran beautifuly with no lag or nothing great grafics and everything and now i can't download the patch...

not yet. but this problem seems to happen only to a few people.
and to fuffalloes, what Video Card are you using?
most of the nvidia line under 7xxx or FX cards are not good to run the game on although it will still run.
also, if you cannot download the new patch delete the file at which the download stops, and try again. if it isnt an issue of "stopping mid download", please give us the error message if youre getting an error message.
This really shouldn't be on this form i posted this in anger so if you want to help me go to the post on technical forms I did it as best i could and put system and everything on it.
alright, well seeing decompression failed makes me say you are having an issue with fragmented/corrupted Temporary folders.
what i would do, is clean out the temporary folder for WINDOWS. not IE. to do this, get Advanced Windows Care utility and run it. its a free download at download.com. when youve got your temps cleaned out, you need to go to the lineage2\system folder and DELETE the system folder. run the update again.
your video card is brand new - get the latest driver for it and you will be good to go in that department. are you crashing regularly (like once per hour on a consistent basis) or infrequently and at random?
if youre crashing regularly, your ram is fragmenting. run the PageDefragmenter from microsoft, and you should be better if nothing more. if infrequently, youre overheating. check your PC's operating temperature in the BIOS and get it down. mind you, this would mean an entire system crash not just lineage2.
