It depends on how you lvl. If you hunt solo you can just look for spots that drop herbs and mana will never be an issue. In that case carnage >> soulbow.
If you hunt in groups without recharger you will want to use the soulbow, so you won't be sitting all the time (better to get a dagger then though if you can afford it)
afaik soul bow has higher dmg as carnage but weapon speed is very slow (carnage => slow)
and because soul bow is also top a grade u think dps will be still higher then from a carnage bow ;)
if solo take an OE Carn and hunt at spots which drops mp herbs if in groups get an OE Bop CS or a cheap SlowBow CS ah and if you can afford it get a focus dagger so you can hunt also when out of mp or with some melee build parties
my 3rd sub is a lowbie SR with a 10+ Carn + AQ ring and an out of party EE which lvls **** fast if I would play it more actively..
carnage all the way bro carnage has high speed an low dps and since you arew sr carnage +5 is awesome

I'm using an OE Soulbow/QR on the HE. The PR will inherit this same bow. What bothers me about the Carnage is it's low p.atk. It's not faster or more damaging than a +10 BOP Q/R, so I'm not sure why someone would switch to a Carnage.
I've never used a Carnage, but if someone can please confirm that they can 3-4 shot most pink and yellow mobs (without crits) while buffed with level 58ish PP buffs, I'd definitely consider it.
Dont even think you need to take a BoP that high to match a Carnage.
Probably if I had to guess like 7 or so would be equal to a +3? Just guessing but I bet its around there.
My only issue with the Carnage is lack of Cheap Shot. Even with Pain of Saggatarius I still run out of mana super fast in DVC/ToI/etc using a Soul Bow w/CS. I can only guess how it would be for a SR @61 with a Carnage. You'd likely be OOM after 10-13 minutes of constant firing w/o herbs.
There is one thing though, Carnage's are super cheap compared to a Soulbow depending upon server.

I made no mention of p.atk, I just said the DPS diffrence is extremely huge. PvP is most definitely about DPS.
Burst DPS is nice and all (Thats a Glad/etc) but in long fights substained DPS count is immense in importance, and a SB puts that out in spades over a Carnage. An I still have to LOL at the Archer that constantly spams specials in mass PvP. Stun shot? Sure. Otherwise? No.

I've used a +3 SB, +5.. and a +11 Carnage. I still prefer the Soulbow. (Thats in A grade obviously, Drac is king for S, focus ftw)

thats why everyone says PVE = soul bow PVP = carnage, cause an archer never stands in pvp. And say the archer likes to solo and kite mobs, definetly carnage for that.

You really dont know what you're talking about. DPS is not as important for an SR as other archers as they already have low p.atk. Sure you werent talking about p.atk, but think about an SR kiting people.... the speed of the bow will certainly make up for the extra damage the soul bow might do when i can shoot while kiting more than you.
And without a BD using skills in PVP is actually very useful right now, especially when fighting other archers now, theres no point in using regular arrows unless you have a bd/cov/whatever. Even with both crit damage jewels and a 78 MS i find myself using skills more than regular shots when fighting most classes.
i didnt say mass pvp, i was referring to flag pvp. in mass pvp, you're worth nothing without a drac. and neither pvp is about sustained DPS.
funny you prefer a +5 soulbow over a +11 carnage, considering the carnage would have a higher patk, shoot faster, have option for different SA's...
the soulbow will plant you in place for far longer than a carnage. regardless of whether or not you shoot more arrows with a soulbow, you shoot FASTER with a carnage. when you're trying to kite or spam specials.
The thing that worries me about soul bow is if the reduced speed will make it harder for me to use pain of sagittarius properly...slower attack speed = longer recast timer. I know i can get CS on Soul Bow I have an OEd BoP atm that is better than a +3 carnage so debating whether or not to upgrade when i hit A grade...as it is i can barely keep my mana up when shooting continuously if i hit pain as soon as it's available.

As for soul bow being top A/g, your a moron...Bay more attention, Shyyd is top A/g and has focus on it. Soul bow is easier to obtain, but is not top of the class.
Alot of the factors in picking a bow is knowing your class, and yoru support. If your a SR you don't get pain of Sagittarius. Because of that you will burn MP faster. For that reason you need a CS weapon if you don't have a recharger toon.
SR fires arrows 2X faster then HE or PR. so QR is nice, but not really needed. so you could use a carnage for the faster fire rate, but don't forget that SR has the lowest P atk of the 3 archers. so you need higher P atk to match up, while still focusing on your crt rate.
I think all in all for SR that SB > carnage. sept maybe in PvP where Carnage would out shine in DPS cause of the bonus to speed.
Haste, rapid fire, zerk, slow > very slow, more crt's = greatter chance to set off the bleed SA. For PvP.
For PvE haste, zerk, rapid fire, + higher P atk, very slow > slow, with CS cause of lack of BtM. and CS has a high chance to be set off (38% chance). so more dmg over time.
why do ppl always need to post when they don t know. Sr has less attack speed than a HE, and soulbow or carnage speed matters only for skills.

Not sure why people always say SR's have fastest attack speed. They dont naturally. Although alot of SR's will +5 dex from strength or con, therefor that way they would if the HE didnt. (Considering typical HE tat is +5 str)

I dont even exp without a BD, let alone PvP. Although I use a SWS too obviously.

Yes, I know the reason why most move up to A grade weapons is for the PVP bonus. But most of your time is spent PVE, and I don't know how anyone would really want to opt for the +3 Carnage over a +10 BOP PVE, if PVP isn't the objective.
Unfortunately I've OE'd my SB too highly to fairly compare/contrast it to a Carnage. As soon as my friend gets back from vacation, I'll try to borrow his +13 Carnage and see how it compares to my +11 SB. Oh crap, I guess that means I'll have to remove the augment. Oh well, it was only a small +crit. I'm sure I can get a better augment.
