Skills for dummies

Here are some few basic questions about skills that i find really important (unless you don't think that scrapping a character up matters). Sorry if that repeats some other topics, i couldn't find any about those questions.

1. What is the most (or, at least, a real good one) precised skills site with skills description + the characteristics depending on level.

2. Skill Points; Ok, here's the situation. Everyoen here know that Lineage2 has his own unique skills systems working with <<Buying Skills>> with the help of Skill Points you earn from killing monsters. Another fact is that you get those Skills Point each tiem you kill a single monster and not when you gain a level. So...
2.1: Do you gain some more skills point when you level up
2.2: Do you still gain SP out of killing monsters once you reach maximum level (This question is the most important as it answer to another important question; Do you have to plan your skills in advance to make sure not to do any errors or you can simply get ALL OF THEM and simply have to wait longer if you mistakenly learned a second hand skill before a better one as you need to hunt more SP.

IF WE HAVE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF SP...

1. Is there any site out there to help you organize your skills? Each skill and his level changes(and i don't know what is the limit of SP at the end) so it's just impossible to calculate and plan a skill tree for your characters without help of a database or a planner.

2. Do the amount of SP we get otu of a monster is proportional to the amount of XP we get... Because when you think it trough... IF THERE WE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET SP AFTER WE REACHED LAST LEVEL, and that it isn't proportional, one will have more or less SP then another at the last level... and that would sucks.

Some of those question are pretty <<pushed>>, i know. But i wanted to get this point over with. I have started my first character (Elven Fighter) not long ago and got Power Strike to level 9 as i thought it'd be useful and because it isn't expensive in SP but now i realize that there is a lot of levels for each skills but few left before i become an Elven Knight. I also know that i will need Attack Aura, Defense Aura and Weapon Mastery at all cost too which are pretty low level so far. I fear that i might have done a mistake by getting Power Strike that high...
ok so....there's no limit on SP, you dont get as much from mobs that are too low for your lvl. and i cant think of any skills that are required for you to know before learning another (except something crazy like getting powerstrike 8 before 7)
You do not stop getting SP when you hit maximum level, as long as you are killing mobs that are not dark blue to you.

You do not get an SP bonus for leveling, although some job-change quests do give you SP when you complete them.

The Merchant of Mammon sells scrolls that will give your character SP. The Merchant is part of the Seven Signs competition, and the scrolls are paid for with AA (Ancient Adena.) You can get the AA by buying it (folks selling are usually near the Priest) or by hunting certain mobs in the catacombs or necropolii. The Merchant appears in the necropolii, and only during the 'validation' week. Which one he is in is random, as he teleports around (there are actually two of him, so your odds of finding him are not horrible.)

The Merchant of Mammon sells scrolls that will give your character SP.

Actually, the merchant of mammon doesn't sell SP scrolls. The Seven Signs priests do, (For AA, During Validation week, they are located in every village except starting villages).

Ahh, thank you for correcting that. I know I've seen the scrolls for sale, although I've never purchased one. No need to chase down the Merchant then! He is hard to find, although not as hard as Master Toma.
For a look at what skills you get at what lvl, try the L2 site, under races and skills. Then I believe The Vault(L2 fan site) has a cool compare class skills thing, this helped me figure out the difference between SR and PR.As far as useless skills don't worry about it, we all made the same mistake when we started this game,ex. skill=peace.Thankgoodness for sp scrolls, ppl used to have to die 3 times per lvl or more in order to get skills, and getting a clan started was crazy sp hog(still is).
Here's the thing, you will almost never have enough SP points to buy all the skills each time you level up and unlock higher level skills.

Solution A: Buy SP scrols, which are uber expensive, unless you farm the adena yourself.

Solution B: PvP much more frequently, hence DIE more frequently. Why? You die, loose xp(but not SP), so when you recover the lost XP, you'll have more SP.

Solution C: Learn your class, don't buy every single skill that becomes available to you right away. Buy the ones you need 1st, get the others later. Also a lil' more PvPing/dying wouldn't hurt either.
And don't forget, you will probably never hit max level, so don't worry about it :)

Not trying to be hard on you, just stating the truth. And if your worried about wasting the 1k SP on a skill early in the game, don't worry, once your using 1 mil SP+ for a skill, the 3k SP you wasted in the start really won't mean that much
I think passive skills are the ones that you should get, maybe not in first order, but almost all of them are useful (except mana up maybe... 20 extra mp anyone? :p ).
As for your active skills - learn those you're using, take one lvl of the new skill, try it out and see if you would find it useful to yourself. If not - forget about it and if yes, just lvl it.
I wouldn't buy peace, sleep (since im an EE, i have trance), mana up, im sure there's some skills in your list that are pretty much useless :) but you'll find them out while you lvl and try the skills.
Never had any serious problems with SP maybe with buffers at the beginning where you have to wait an extra level or two to get all buffs you need.
But other than that there is only so much you can do with limited mana, in other words you'll be using only a few skills. I've recently purchased almost all of my skills since my SP have been stockpiling.
Here's one thing I have not seen posted in the replies. I assume the OP is less than level 25 or so. There is a quest in Gludin that gives SP as a quest reward. Repeat the quest several times, and it will give you temporary relief. Beyond that, as other posters say, some classes have skills that many players will never use, so that can help. Beyond that, you prioritize the orders of your skills and get them as you accumulate SP.
FYI, for my Destroyer main, I consider the passive skills a priority most of the time (unless a new level of Rage or Frenzy is coming up), as I use the passives all the time. For my Spellhowler alt, I make the nuking skills a priority, and other skills come after.
