I'm L62 atm and it takes about 24 hours of playing for next level without using SS. I won't be able to afford A grade weapon for a while so my Patk will remain the same. Not to mention there aren't any A grade duals I'm really interested in.
I wonder how much longer will leveling get till 70 and after 70? I will probably start using SS as well.
Thats why I mentioned how long it takes for me. So in other words if it takes you say 40 hours at lvl68 and took you 20h at l62 it will take me 48h at lvl68.
Don't need exact math though just a rough idea.
I don't know the exact answer to your question. But I have seen links posted in this forum that take you to websites where they list the XP requirements per level. Combine this with a calculation of your average XP per hour, and you can get a rough idea. If you use this method, try to find a site where the XP requirements were adjusted for Interlude.
Also, if you are trying to save up money for A grade equipment by leveling without SS, I think there might be other things you could do both to get more money and help with the equipment.
By the way, what class are you playing, and what gear do you want to get?
I'm a BD, mostly play in duo. Already have Tallum Heavy and Tsu*SLS+4. Wanna get Tal*Damascus but its way out of reach and before I get it to +4 its not really much better as Tsu*SLS+4.
It would help a little how much EXP you get per hour at your level (forget AOE groups). I'll check for XP tables as well.
And about SS. I did some math and using SS took 75%-100% adena from drops. But the worst problem would have been that I would level too fast and couldn't afford new equipment. In other words sooner or later I would face mobs that I simply couldn't kill efficiently anymore due to being under equipped. That actually happened and I was forced to move from PL Set to Tallum. Luckily I could empty my WH and afford Tallum.
Now since A is probably my last stop and/or a long way from S grade I'll probably start using SS sooner or later. The reason I'm asking this is question is that I wanna know how fast will I reach S grade in other words I have things planned ahead and so far it played rather well.
I won't lie to you. The xp walls get higher and higher and the amount of xp you get seem to get less and less as you level up. For example, level 60ish mobs give more xp than level 75 mobs. This is compounded by needing more xp at higher levels. On the other hand you don't want to level too fast at higher levels or else you'll end up not affording new grade. Well, this isn't a problem for you since you already have your gear. Also as a BD you will always find parties especially in those places with nice fat juicy xp/quest rich mobs.
In a group (mid 60's) we are getting about 2.79-3% per 20 minutes. (Full party non the less, so not as efficient as it could be)
Which would be around 8.5-9% per hour.
Honestly its not slowing down, if anything its speeding up as we level. I expect we'll cap out at around 13-15% per hour before the exp kinda slows due to how vastly it jumps up.
Compared to before, when we were 70 thats light years better though ^-^.
In the long run, you may actually SAVE time by making a warsmith who can craft your shots on the cheap and then use shots to level to 75+.
Already have but for more profitable things like picking cheap materials and recipes then crafting and selling as well as crystalize. Allthough leveling a WS to craft A shots isn't really efficient, I mean just look at all those afk crafters. Crafting shots with them isn't really expensive. I haven't even bothered to level him for B shots that I need when I'm attacked by multiple mobs.
At level 50 my necro was making 1 level per hour still. At level 56 I was making 1 level per 3-4 hours. In the low 60s it was something like 1 level per 5-6 hours.
At level 71 I'm making about 4.5% per hour and at 75 I'll be expecting around 2% per hour.
This is with an oop 74 se and an in-party 60 pp, using death spike and bsps a with a +3 fds / acumen with wm passive.
On my overlord, I was getting around 0.9% per hour with oop se and +7 bloody tornado / focus.
Higher levels than that it gets really crazy, a few hours for 1%.
I'm a BD, mostly play in duo. Already have Tallum Heavy and Tsu*SLS+4. Wanna get Tal*Damascus but its way out of reach and before I get it to +4 its not really much better as Tsu*SLS+4.
I'd actually recommend one of the haste duals for a grade (i.e. Kesh*Kesh or Dama*Tallum). Your damage output would be much better with the increased attack speed (At +4, of course). And even before they are +4 their P.Atk is higher (I believe) than Tsu*Sls+4.
Recently (At least on my server) the price of Dual Kesh has dropped as a result of the introduction of Dama*Tallum. Even the +4 dual keshs haven't been to bad as far as price goes.
It will slow down a little. You will notice some levels are a lot slower than others. When you start getting into your 70's you will notice that you are making a lot less then before.
The good thing for you is your a BD. Want to level with no shots forever? Find a warlord or some pole arm user that wants to have BD dances and couldn't really care if you helped AoE or not.
Also, SlS*TSU is probably THE best duals for you as a BD. If it is cheaper and if you can find a way, I would just try over enchanting those to 7 or something and forget about A grade. Then you can use shots. B grade shots are cheaper, you will do more damage on crits because of you dances, it's a great set.
My guess is you could probably blow one pair of SLS* TSU and it it would cost the same, maybe cheaper depending on your server, to attempt to get them to +7 than it would be to get A grade duals to + 4. If you don't blow them, well then...that would be great, since you would be able to have "A grade" duals in a "B grade form" for only a few mil.
So, now back on topic. Your leveling speed will become slower. When you get into your high 60's somewhere around 68 you will probably make a level in 60 hours without shots, dependent on the group and where and what you are hunting. If you are pulling trains you could make a level in about 30 hours or less.
I didn't find leveling all too bad, granted I partied with a warlord a lot and getting 15k per mob and having about 6-8 mobs a pull was good stuff. It just seems really bad when you hit level 76.
It was calculated that 70-80 takes about 2800 hours. It was also calculated that in this time you could have reached 75 from 70 and then 75 again on your sub.
This was calculated by people who are nobles and have had the Zariche 5+ times each. If you look at the exp/ level chart at [censored] this will give you a better idea as to what you are in for.
Yea just noticed about A grade duals. Tal*Damascus are the best allthough Damascus goes for around 100M on my server which is actually less then Dark Legion which is needed for S duals. In other words A and S duals are rather close in price. I really wouldn't want to enchant those.
Not to mention both Tallum and Dark Legion recipes are blades are easy to get so I think I'll just skip A grade (unless Damascus becomes cheaper). Tsu*SLS+4 are worth keeping as well when I will want to use SS.
And about SS. I did some math and using SS took 75%-100% adena from drops.
odd
when i leveled (or rather, when i checked) 50ish to 58, 20% of my income (adena + rough value of mats/quest items/etc) went to soulshots
ie by the time i had made 1 million, 200k of that would have gone to soulshots
I actually made a decent amount of money, enough so to fund new gear purely through leveling and spamming ss, without having to play the market.
The key to "passive money making" is to maximise the damage pr hit, ie you want to increase your dps ("damage per second", a measurement of your overall damage output) by increasing patk, crit rate and crit power
BD is EXCELLENT at this because they have 3 skills that lets them do this. Dance of warrior adds 15% patk, dance of fire adds crit damage and dance of light adds 15% damage to undeads. If you can, you are better off using dance of fire+warrior+light and level on holy weak mobs rather than fire+warrior+fury. Its the same damage output, but in the first scenario you get more "bang for your buck"
(i did have a WC with me though, for its buffs, several of which increase damage per soulshot, might, gmight, focus and death whisper)
I guess if you grind unbuffed, and solo. most of the drops worth will go for SS and potions. but with buffs, i dont se how people lose money grinding. I always ahve a lot of money left after buying SS. but i dont use potions.
Well it depence really, for me I have always lost money by spamming SS just counting Adena drops.
Usually use up 600-700 SS per buff cycle under that that time I usually get about 40-50k worth of Adena drops. 600-700SS is worth between 65-75k or so. But granted if you count every other drop you don't really lose cash, eg I usually always manor.
OK TIME TO PUT MY 2A IN.... as someone who has leveled 21 chars 40+, 15 of those 52+ , 6 of them 61+ and my main is 72. one thing that has changed is feel lucky your grinding away in C6 (interlude) they upped the xp to 1.5x what previous chrons have been. with haste 2 at various lvls these have been my lvling times and where they happened...
40-46 cruma 2 4hrs /lvl regardless of class(cept buffers:))
46-52 cruma 2 6-8 hrs/lvl regardless of class(cept buffers:))
52-56 apostate giants cave 8-12 hrs/lvl regardless of class(cept buffers:))
56-60 apostate giants cave 12-16 hrs/lvl regardless of class(cept buffers:))
60-61 devotions 18 hrs/lvl bh,paly,pp.se,wc
61-67 devotions 24-30 hrs/lvl bh,paly,pp.se,wc
67-70 Witches, martyrs, 30-40 hrs/lvl paly, wc
70-72 Disc, hot springs, seal of shilien, 66.67 hrs/lvl paly
oh yah and i have the distinguished honour of being the only person (other than bots:P) to have leveled all 21 chars from 40-52 in the same room in cruma 2 since chron 2. Hanna loves me:)
oh an 1 more thing the easiest way to make money in l2 is to do something that the lazy ******** wont do and make profit from them.... i craft ***. u dont even need a dorf to do it. just some investmant capital. ok on hinde heres the market with amounts and profits...
1 A crys = 16,500
36 soul ore = 10,332 in giran
crafting off of dorfs in giran = 400
total = 27,232 for 300 *** works out to 90.77a/ss
place 1 toon in aden freight the *** to him at 1000
sell *** in aden for 96-100 whatever the market will bear.
i make 1mil a day crafting it in giran and selling in aden...(for all u lazy hinde's out there thx, and canadian wallmart FTW)

Hmm, you have cheaper A-cry on Bartz but still the item prices are close to same? :) Carnage being around 24-26mil for example.
Quick, from memory prices, average:
S: 55k
A: 16k(14k if you buyshop)
B: 13k
C: 3k(seriously, you can get them cheaper from NPCs)
D: 640a
Yeah, I think its from everyone breaking A.
S Crystals are also extremely low.
I figured A grade on the other servers must be expensive for crystals to be that high. After all, if it wasnt, dwarves would just crush A grade (Tallum Stockings, DC Light being prime choices, etc) and get cheap crystals.
No wonder people cant afford to spam SS TBH.
I dont know how I could if A grade SS was like 90-100A per.
I've made a fair few million this week crafting A:SS. A crystals are 18K but the clan that owns Giran has zero tax days. So you buy your soul ore at 275 per (spirit ore at 440a) and away you go. I crafted over half a million A:SS on Sunday and they will all have sold at 109a by Monday night.
In the last couple of weeks we have got 3 buffers into A grade (helmet prices have helped) and we have as much adena as we had before. Albeit we have sold some of the surplus gear as well but making SS can see pretty good regular profit.
Of course, the crafting takes a LONG time (even with two rechargers) but you have to make sacrifices in this game.

takes around 100 hours for a lvl at 76 77 if you have out of pt buffs... prolly 400 hours without but you maybe will be lfg half of this time, so 600 hours then :)

i was thinking 100 buffrounds sorry, but with full buffs out of party. and you ll spend lot of time rebuffing, moving to spots, raiding sieging pvping so gotta count like 100 hours of ig time i guess.
Basically put: I have to kill (or party member have killed as I am leecher class) 1 mob to get 0.01%. My friend 75+ has to kill 2 mobs to get 0.01%. Those numbers are mostly for duo me + some nuker.
It depends on party, mobs, ..., maybe it's higher and maybe lower, also depends on how fast you kill those mobs - with nuker it's fast, but with some meelee not AoE party in catas it takes long time to kill mob.
I hit 73 3 months ago. As of last night I was 53% of the way to 74, this is with using bsps on my spellsinger. Course most of this probably has to do with only getting in about one hour of playtime per day on average, but still, that speed is just too slow to be fun (probably why I haven't spent much time leveling).
