Silver Ranger? or Phantom Ranger?

What's the general concensus on which class is better? I know that Dark Elves have a higher p.atk, but I also know that Elves have higher evasion and faster attack speed....so.....what's your thoughts? Also, I know that Phantom Rangers get power break and hex and all that, but I have a Blade Dancer, and I only use those skills VERY rarely...

Thanks X.^
PR = PVP, they have highest Atk, but Lowest Con
SR = PVE have low Con highest run speed and an solo selfbuffed

If u want an UberArcher try Hawkey. HE haves all 2 options from PR and SR.
Out of the 2, PR is better imo. SR isn't bad, and is really nice if you like to PK people and run away...

I would choose PR over SR.

I would choose HE over both.

The reason I say PR, is because in end game pvp, you crit super hard! To my limited understanding that is.
HE. why isent that class on your archer list? :)

about hex...it should be used..a lot...its a HUGE bost to damage... anyway, archer has no use for hex tho, at least not in pve...mobs should be dead befor they come even close to you.

my choice of archer would be HE>SR>PR.

why? simple. HE is most balanced. SR cuz i like lightelfs, they are fast and shoot fast. PR....umm...I dont like the looks of darkelfs lol...wouldent play it even if they where the best ;)
You can use hex plenty as a PR if you exp with a dagger. The reason why BDs rarely get to use it, is because of the heavy mp drain from dancing.

Nifty to have when faced with bow resist or multi-HP types. But hopefully most PR's have found better mob choices than that.

This is a tough one. Both the PR and HE hit hard. The SR has speed and crits, but with buffs, the HE and PR crit just enough to make it a nonissue.

Between the HE and the PR, the key difference is mindset. With an HE, I can go into a grind session knowing that I can aggro multiple mobs and not worry too much if I get hit, even with mobs that stun, para, shock, etc.. With the PR, it's kill them before they get to you and don't get hit under any circumstances, ESPECIALLY by mobs that stun, para, shock, etc.

I enjoy playing my PR more at B grade than I did the HE. But when I'm bored with playing the PR, I can log the HE without it feeling like I'm playing the same toon.

I love DE's, followed by female elves, and human fighters. Who knew it could be so easy to look so good!

yea well if he wanted to xp with a dagger I would recomend to roll a dagger class, not an archer.
(normaly I dont even let archers that use a dagger into my partys. a archer using a +0 kris focus (most of them do) with 500 pattack in a pagans group is more then useless.

same reson why daggerusers rarely get into archer partys.

At C grade, I can see a PR using a focus dagger to level. At B grade, they really should get a BOP and not look back. Ranged attackers really come into their own starting at B grade.
yes Im not saying daggers are not an option, and at lower levels (Cgrade) its a lot better then a Bow. but, Cgrade lasted 1,5 days for my HE (I used a pole leveling, solo) its not realy worth rolling a PR, just to be able to use a dagger and hex for a feew days at Cgrade :P
Sure, Bgrade still works, i wish sometimes I have a kris focus so I can just get into a cata group for some easy xp :/
I thought it was popular to skip bow until the higher levels, so hex would be nice.

But roll a human rogue -> whatever. Seems like they are everywhere lol
Silver Rangers shoot arrows fastest of all 3 Archer classes.
They have the fastest run speed also.

I would choose SR again If I had the choice, but its your decision.

Hawkeye's shoot faster then Silver Rangers actually, by a few points due to the passive, assuming all things equal.

I'd go PR. There really isnt much place for SR's in "today's" archer world. Every Archer hits the crit cap with proper buffs, so that kills one huge advantage a SR had. They crit the worst in strength. They have a decent active later on, but cuts your range and puts you into Glad/etc range which isnt good, etc.

The run speed is always a advantage, but I really cant remember the last time I ran from anyway, except another HE and at that point the HE has dash and is going to catch you anyway.
again... rolling an PR just to be able to use a dagger and hex untill higher lvls are stupd. isent it better to roll the archer that you want to play at higher lvls? well if you like hex on a archer, go for pr.
SR shoot too fast and dont get body to mind = major mp drain...hard to keep up mp in solo/groups/or even raids...HE are the grunt...high weight limit...high hp....just tank...best for Dungeon PvE with snipe and can use pain in combination with blessing to keep up MP surprisingly well while dealing out an almost constant stream of damage.

I would definitely chose PR if i had the option but as light elf cant subclass it 8( best damage and efficiency in field PvE and crazy strong crits in PvP and raids...they just take more finesse to play than HE because of their lack of CON.

lol a th with a +0 kris in pagans is just as useless. Also considering lot of daggers go -str an archer usually go +str a pr or he has more dps than a dagger at same lvl gear... hex is 30% more dps for the hole party and pr can keep VS and accuracy up and hex constantly because he has BTM and you don't.

no they don't HE has more attack speed.

The good thing with hex is you can deal easy with very strong mobs. With rechargers and good support a pr can solo L room in IT, good xp...

And well there s a reason why HE is the FOTM, other archers have runspeed but HE has everything else better.
After getting all these replies, I have decided I'm going to go Hawkeye. It seems that they're the best in a lot of things, and it just doesn't seem that my Silver Ranger that I wanted will even come close to matching up to a Hawkeye. Thank you all very much for your advice X.^
good choice

Sorry guys you wrong. Silver Rangers have the fastest attack speed with Rapid Fire Skill. Awesome skill only Silver Rangers have!
And only with that skill!

Grats mr. obvious, you win a cookie ;)

Great PvE skill.

Horrible PvP skill.

Also still a skill. HE's have naturally higher attack speed, duh :P
Yep
HE is best warrior with bow,
PR best archer
SR are just gimp :( (my main class tbh)
Was lil disapointed how they made Light Elves weakest from all of archer class LIGHT ELVES pppfff....

I'm a PR and I love it :) only thing I want to say tho is its a good point on the PoS (archer BtM) as I can't afford to put Cheap shot on my Soul Bow and this skill has saved me alot of what would otherwise have been be either dagger or sit time prior to having this skill. Sitting is a waste of XP time and with the lower CON/HP on a PR i try not to get to close to the mobs/players unless I have to!

Cheers,

Well, its your decision. I hope u have fun with your class....like the other thousand : D

I have to say something to the posters above regarding Attack Speed. Silver Ranger HAS the highest the highest attack speed.
Some hurted HE´s cant believe there are SKILLS in this game. With the right setup a Silver Ranger is better than all other Archers. Silver Ranger has the highest mobile critical chance.

Summary : Silver Rangers has the highest Critical chance and highest attack speed of all Archers. GG
SR is also the one with weakest STR/Patk.. *******, and they got the fastest run speed so they can run away from real archers! BUAHAHAHAHAA :3
*******? You are really hurting us, Mulch... :( I won't deny we have low STR/ P. Atk, but with little modification we can raise our STR to a decent level, and with a +DEXT tattoo we can surely raise our already high DEXT even further and thus increasing our Atk. Speed as well. Would you agree that high DEXT => increased Atk. Speed?

MalaSuczka, you are not the only one who felt disappointed with Elves being the weakest of all three archer classes. At least, we still have --and let's enjoy it as it lasts-- higher crit rate.
Well.. when you start considering buffs, HE's got highest crit rate with Snipe!! HAH!

Summary : Silver Rangers has the highest Critical chance and highest attack speed of all Archers. GG

Incorrect.

ALL ARCHERS have the highest critical chance... that being - 500.

Unless SR's can magically get above the cap, every Archer can reach the crit cap, therefor, every archer has the same critical chance.

No we arent talking about newby PvP here, although...

If you want to take skills into account, Snipe provides a far higher critical rate then a SR's, so even there your wrong. (Since you want to include the crap skill Rapid as a base to assume they have a higher RoF, then you have to include Snipe, meaning HE's have a higher crit)

ALL ARCHERS have the highest critical chance... that being - 500.

IIRC, Phantom Rangers can only reach 497 Critical due to the lack of a Critical Chance Passive. But the difference between 50% and 49.7% crit chance is negligible.

Yeah that was true, however with Augments bringing Crit onto the table, it shoudnt be a issue.
The damage of a PR still surpasses that of an SR...and the SR consumes a load more MP to do that damage at the same time.
