i m about to hit 20 and in dilemma of which one to make.
I have been reading about sorc and people said Sorc sucks now. So it left me with 2 optons
1. Necro
2. WL
can u guys plz tell me Pros, Cons of each class?? pvp wise? fun to play? easy , hard to lvl?
one mroe thing i m confused about is what skill does necro use for dmg?
Necro's main nuke is death spike, which consumes cursed bones. later on (level 52?) they get curse: death link which is really nice (does more damage the lower your hp is).
There are loads of guides which have enough comments from the community to help you make a decision. I'd say necro if you're happy to be skint until you're in Valley Of Saints (mid 50's). But then I'm biased, as my main is a necro.
Necro is great at solo and PvP, but no one will want you for parties. (necros really arent bad for any kind of party as they dont run out of mana as easily as sorc and their pet + necro is actually quite impressive) Necro is the second most powerful PvP class in the game right underneath a buffed archer. (and the only mage who can regularly live through more than 1-shot from a buffed archer.)
Warlock is less powerful overall in PvP than a necro, but will be wanted in groups bigtime once you get queen cat. Warlock are awesome in solo and decent at PvP. (pet packs a whallop, but is easily dispatched, that **** binding cubic is a threat even if the warlock is petless. Note that the warlock is one of the only classes necros will lose to 1v1 in endgame.)
Are you a party animal? Warlock.
Are you a lone wolf? Necro.

I strongly disagree with your comment about them not being wanted in groups. My necro is always asked to join in groups for 4 reasons.
1. Gloom.
2. Anchor.
3. Silence.
4. Because I'm great.
Yes, other classes have silence, but put together, these 3 skills are better crowd control than most other classes. Angels in ToI. Look at my level, 6x. That's low 60's FYI. I'm often in ToI anchoring and glooming the angels. I don't do damage to them (1 at most lol) but I can sure make the time easier for my party.
Again, at WoA, the angels there stand still when they see me and the homu's resort to headbutting when they're silenced.
Necromancers are loved by everyone except your enemy.
In our siege on Sunday, the first toons to die were always the necromancers summons. Why? Because everyone loves to hate them.
I think the parties thing is dependent on clans. My boyfriend plays a necro, knows several others that do also and all are solo unless there is a seige or PVP. Catas are a definate no for him.
I have an alt Warlock which I went with because although it is expensive (beast shots etc) it doesn't seem anywhere near the expense of a Necro. Also I found that Kai is totally awesome when I'm soloing.
Yeah, my friends Tyrant is subbing warlock and he owns. That cat has a dps on a par with most nukers lol. More often than not, when in a party with a non-hate tank, it always has the agro!
Necro is a very expensive nuker with x2 HP than the others(Thanks to transfer pain) and 2 very very nice skills Silence,Paralyze.
Sorceror is a nuker.
Warlock is a very nice char for both Solo and party .PVP wise they will love you, because of the cat dance in archer parties , but if you are solo you might have some problems beating your opponent.
My main is sorc and sub is Warlock and I do enjoy warlock more than my main.
To give you an idea of how powerful summoners can get in PvE, my necro needs 2 nukes to kill some mob. If I send out my summon instead, it takes it 4 hits without crits to kill the mob. With full buffs, 1 crit + 1 regular attack is enough to kill the mob that requires me 2 nukes.
Summoners are the kings of 1 vs 1. With transfer pain out, they can survive quite long and they have a pretty decent dd hitting you while they either battle heal themselves or servitor heal their summon. With para cubic it can very quickly turn a pvp fight around.
Necros have slightly lower survivability (no servitor heal), but deal damage quicker and have an active skill para.
One difference is Necro can't para a white player, while the warlock can.
When it comes to PvE, if you have a SE recharging you, necro is an excellent option. If you don't have an oop buffer, I strongly suggest a summoner. Summoners have pretty much always been the quickest leveling true solo classes. And with queen cat, you now have a great use in groups too, people love that buff.
Sorcerer = Nuker
Warlock = Summoner
Necromancer = Both
Sorcerer = Fire element nuker with 2 aoe nukes
Warlock = Summoner who's party summon acts like a BD ( a must for pvp archer parties)
Necromancers = Unmatched Nuker/Debuffer/Summoner. They are pve/pvp masters... the only draw back being the fact that cursed bones are expensive and that they have no buffs or heals for their summons. From 1-75 this class shines above all else. After that... the playing field balances out a bit.
I have no problem getting parties as a Necro...with anchor, silence and my summon I am great at crowd control. Throw corpse burst in there with a tank equipped with a pole and its a win win situation.

Thanks for these. The one that leads to the l2pets site is particularly informative.
