I have a lvl 30 Elven Wizard in Clan Oath and +3 SoL, I also have a lvl 28 Shilien Oracle so I have Emp1 at all times. I am looking for the most efficient leveling location for lvl 30-35. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Field of Silence, the Ogre/ Tasaba Lizardmen Sniper spot.
1.6k exp per 1 shot mobs. 2.5(?) with your overhit.
Stock acumen/ hp pots. The snipers crit hard.. and if you are slow on your feet... you will die. Often. If you know what you are doing... have fun! You will burn through 30-40 faster than you ever imagined.
Imo just go to hc, try to get one of the early rooms, agrro everything, then run, nuke then when your about to die, port out, hp pot, go back in and nuke till everything is dead
then go back to the room and grind 1 at a time ;)..or just get someone else to clear it for you. considering my hw went 28-40 in 2-3 hours there? with emp1
Agree with what Bhod said. There are other places with OK exp per mob, but no areas that are one shot with as many mobs in a central spot. Plus the mobs are social, so once you get in a rhythm, you'll be leveling fast. Just be careful about those respawns and where you run.
GO to Breka orcs i was there from bout 30- almost 40 i think
While the area itself is pretty good, there's just so much traffic there; people doing class changes or the hatchling quest, which can be pretty annoying.
The best spot for any nuker level 35-46 is on Aligator Island. 5000 - 6000 exp a mob killing the croken lizards and dallions right by the worshipers necro.

I'm not so sure about that.
The OP is an elf wiz and he's in D grade. I wouldn't even recommend AI for nukers at C grade, with full buffs, Demon Set and a +10 Homu, unless they had a recharger. You may be able to one shot the alligators, but the big Crocs/Dallions Lads/Warriors are usually going to take 3 spells or more, depending on set up. There are better places where you can one shot mobs at early C grade for 2600 - 2800 and xp faster. AI is great for fighters, focus weapons, and VR, but I'd suggest something else for a nuker.
At D grade, I still think Silence and EG are the best spots until 35. I know a few other choice hunting areas, but keeping that to myself. :D
I also would vote for EG- but gotta be on your toes at all times. It's an absolute favorite hunting ground for the up-and-coming PKer. They know you'll be there- watch your back, Jack.
In d-grade the crockies may take 3 hits, but with buffs and a decent homunk you can easilly two-shot them in c-grade (and that's with using the level 35 nuke). But no I wouldn't recommend killing them in d-grade though, 'cause the homunk factor is huge.

Best place ever. There's an area on top of the hill that is enclosed with about 15 mobs in it that you can kill nonstop in. They'll all be 2 shot for Elf (lower M.Atk) with the Warriors maybe becomming 1 shot at 35. You can stay there until 36 or so - then I recommend you leave.
The traffic isn't bad at all, because there is a patch of Overlords and Shaman on the bottom and most people look there before anywhere else when they are doing their quests.
I don't recommend FoS. The archers crit too much/too hard and 1 shotting you is a trivial thing for them. You can be on top of the spawn rate, but it's only a matter of time before one spawns on top of a rock outside of you view, or behind something and agroes when you 1 shot his friend. He'll be hitting you from behind a rock and you won't know wth is going on.
Hunter's Valley or whatever it's called is also a nice spot. There are orc archers there but comparing the two is like comparing an unbuffed SR to an HE with full buffs.
I changed my setup to Knowledge set and +6 SoL. My problem with some spots was I was coming just short of 1-shotting mobs. I have yet to try FoS, but after some experimentation, I found a nice spot in eastern Cruma Swamp killing bees and stakato workers. I can 1 shot everything for 1100-1500 exp(with my SO in party), and there are a decent amount of mobs that I can run back and forth across the area. I got my SO to 30 last night for recharges, so I plan to try FoS tonight.
25-35 I always hited the ant group mobs around the wasteland, they are the mobs who give the highest XP in the game (at that lv granted), and they are soloable, but a bit risky, with empower 1 it's even better indeed.
As far as I know, there is no other mobs who give better XP then this ones.
Oh and I recommend acumen pots to play here as you want to nuke em away as fast as possible so you max get 1 to ever reach and hit you.

If you're going to FoS, park the SO in a safe location. You don't want it on auto follow, because it will typically draw unwanted aggro from a respawn.

by the way the place was described, I was under the impression I could stand in 1 spot and nuke the spawn around me. Leaving it in a safe space wont get it leveled with me.

You can. Just make sure to look both ways and take aggro before your SO does.

Hunters Valley is awesome. My 33 wizard is soloing there, sometimes with the help of my friend's SE, but usually not, and I'm loving it. The Bugbears have a chance to drop Brig Helms or Brig Shields and those always sell for a bundle.

Hunter's is ok, but at level 33 with empower and at least a +7 SoL, the mobs are still two shot for only about 2700 XP. When you get to C grade, they are one shot and perfect for XPing. But at D grade, you can do better.
Again, I know a place where a wizard with empower and a decently OE SoL can 1-shot mobs for just over 1900 XP each.
Pop Quiz: Which is better XP... 2-shot for 2700 exp, or 1-shot for 1900 exp? Survey says...??? :)
No better place for a 30+ nuker than FoS, you can easily stay there until lvl 40 or even longer. There you also have an option to take the Black Swan quest from a guard in Heine. The quest is for killing the lizardmen there and the reward is materials + adena. The lizzies are not as good exp as the ogres, but if you kill both you're still getting very good exp.
SirPalabas, FoS is AWESOME, but you die there. And in D Grade you die and lose 6pct instead of 4 and the SE he has doesn't have 20pct rez plus BW Robes + WIT Tatoos so it hurts.
Again, FoS is probably the most awesome place, but it's also one of the most inconveniencing places to XP. His SE will die at least twice as often as him because she will agro - God forbid she lags and does the run-warp cycle, that's a guaranteed death.
I guess the best thing he has going for him is that he casts faster than a human or dark wizard (Elf WIT), because you have to have some good responses to be able to react to some of the chain agro that can happen there. Parking the SO in a safe spot doesn't help becasue after you're done recharging/rebuffing the mobs will have all popped back for the most part. It's best to do all that on the go.
I knew a friend who went form 30-40 there in 5 hours with an OOP SE, and another who did same levels in about 6ish hours. I went and stayed for about 2 hours. Everytime I got 6pct, I lost 6pct. I guess I just sucked in D Grade :p
I like being able to take breaks throughout long grind sessions, and places like HV and Breka permit that. Grouping the tons together means that FoS loses its luster since the group XP bonus is a pct and higher XP-per mob places will give a greater XP bonus to both toons. I'm sure FoS will still be better XP/shot, but the advantage becomes marginal when you are sharing the XP with a toon that is not killing anything itself.
Well, I spent my evening in FoS last night and loved it. Took me a couple deaths right in the beginning to before I figured out aggro ranges, spawn rates....but after that picked up 2 lvls on both my nuker and se in about 2 hours. I also went back to town and traded the Knowledge set for my Clan Oath robes, +++ cast speed made ALL the difference when getting a crazy spawn.
Only thing that sucks is the massive amount of what seems to be farmer nukers swarming the place like angry hornets. But hey, nothing is perfect. Thanks for the tip, I think I will stay here till 40 :)

With FoS there is a learning curve involved. I agree that many of the things that you say CAN happen, but there are also ways to hunt there and obviate most of the above, with the exception of lag deaths. I did it on my human mages and on my archers, and I came close to dying a few times at first. But once you get your bearings, you can own in FoS and level quickly and effectively.
But again, if FoS is too much for anyone, there are a few other places where a mage can level fairly quickly 1-shotting for good XP. Sometimes you just have to look around and go to the places where no one else would think to go.
