Why do all posts concerning the silent invasion get locked?? Its like "**** someone has found out! how can this be?! quick lock his post before anyone else finds out!!" Well i got news for u, lol, everyone knows and u need to emply more ppl to get rid of our silent invasion. Offer me the job, id do it for free.
And another thing, /gmlist, there are never any gm's visible to the public...whats that point?
This will probably get blocked too i guess, although i didnt sat the B word!! (b-o-t-s)
By checking the link provided by GrensealO, here's a quick list of rule breakings that usually go on inside botting threads. They may not all apply to you, too lazy to check which one(s) you started, but I'm sure there's at least a handful or two that do apply.
And if these rules are new, then you didn't take the "yes I aggree to the terms and forum rules" or however it was phrased when you created your account.
Most threads about bots break various guidelines:
1) posting in the right thread: there is an official thread specifically about bot detection, use it.
2) keep feedback positive: most are just to complain about it and don't help the situation at all.
4) use the search function, it's not hard to find a thread already talking about this, no need to spawn a zillion of them, especially when someone doesn't bring anything new on the subject.
As well as breaking some general conduct rules:
2) most single out a certain clan or group of bots and refer to them by name.
4) threads are not = to a petition
5) Many ask for an answer from NCSoft. NCSoft has already addressed the subject many times, so please give everyone a break.
9) most of those threads turn in as conspiracy threads of NCSoft accepting farmers.
12) often many other games which you feel did a better job (and often didn't) are listed as example.
16) there is an official thread about bots already - use it.
We have gone over topics on bots and ebaying all the time... It ain't going to do anything to help and especially as you think that NcSoft doesn't do anything to help. Yes we know they are there! I have quit TONS of times because of the flat out cheating going on but we just gotta live with it. Hopefully Aion with its "no level-grind" thing can be a nice place to visit.
2) keep feedback positive: most are just to complain about it and don't help the situation at all.
Actually, feedback need only be constructive. By far, not every bot/ebay topic gets locked. Only those who go flamey, whiney or down a road that has been travelled hundreds of times.
As a rule of thumb, things that will get you locked/deleted:
1. Claims that NCSoft isn't banning. They are. Certainly not enough, but they are.
2. Doomsday stuff (funny how they have been here since OB?) saying the cheating will end the game - when in fact, that as this may be, it has made it prosper as far as subscription numbers go.
3. Circular arguments.
4. Legal threats.
5. "I quit" threats.
Despite common assumptions to the contrary, whether you say "silent invasion" "automated friends" or "BOTBOTBOTBOTBOT" has no impact whatsoever on whether or not you get banned. The moderators can clearly tell what you are referring to - the rule isn't some swear filter built to be bypassed.
It is possible to complain about cheaters on the boards, just about anywhere, all the time. Some people make a point out of making an *** (the kind that goes ee-ah) of themselves in the process, and therefore run into the moderation.
