Ashe said he played, Mistryl played.
I would not like to know them in game too as people who worked for NcSoft. The temptation would be too great to call on a favor or two. Not to say I wouldn't play with them, but their R/L connections are something I wouldn't want to know about.
Nope, gotta disagree with this.
100% of our clan are adults with either full time jobs or kids or both.
Time management and the fact that you will never be the biggest or badest is most important. I am almost 68 myself on my main and I can assure you I have a full time job and a family to deal with along with R/L stuff around the house.
It is just a matter of giving each their fair due and finding clan mates that are of the same mind set.
NCSoft staff isn't allowed to say who they are in game, but many of them play. I remember Ashe being 70+ in a few classes and asking for help on how to grind the market as his dwarf. A Few other staff members mentioned playing as well, and whenever they're interviewed, none of them come up with the "We're too busy making the game to play it."
Yeah, and if Zhanig made it to 68 as an OVERLORD with a job and family, there's no reason why people who play any non-tank class can't make it to at least 75, 'cause OL is at least half as fast as any other melee dd class and probably 1/4 as fast as nukers/summoners and fotm parties (like cov archer parties right now, or dagger parties in the past).
Yep, what Katastrophe said. :) We are not allowed to make any mention of being an NCsoft employee while on our personal characters. There are other rules as well, but in a nutshell, we play the game just like anyone else would when on our personal accounts. Granted, I don't have a ton of time to play lately, but I do (and my internet is being lame, but that's another gripe entirely).

Well. above lvl 60 you need hunt in party. If you have a full job, house stuff and kids your time (aprox.) at a day is:
Job = 10 hours (work + driver)
Kids = 2 jours
House stuff = 2 hours
Sleep = 7 hours
Eat = 2 hours
Lineage2 = 1 Hour (where 30 minutes chating and setup party and 30 minutes exping = less then 2%)
Hard to really have fun :)

Nope,
I look at it on a weekly basis. I have 2 to 4 nights a week at 4 hours, Friday nights is as long as the beer doesn't make me stupid (monsters are a whole lot less intimidating on your 4 beer) and then on and off all weekend between housework.
Granted, I have one of the best jobs in the world as a systems admin, but that isn't all of it.
Again, time is what you make of it.
You also forgot hobbies. Course that is why it took me 3 years to get my OL to 67 and my other toons up too.
I think I would have snapped as a slightly older child if my parents insisted on spending 2 whole hours a day with me - and two whole hours certainly aren't needed for food a day either, and that includes cooking. If you have a family it won't always be the same person cooking anyhow - and if you don't make it a hobby to eat elaborately, there's no need to go over the top with cooking either. Eating a meal maybe takes the better part of one hour - two of those meals are at work (breakfast/lunch) for most people I know.
And really, there is no pre-75 level at which you have to group, on any class, since the introduction of herbs. Plus, if you have a job, there's no problem with affording two-boxing. ^_~
I play around 2 hours per day with my son (he is 4 years old). And i forget the hooby and study time :).
2 hours is not too much to eat because you need to eat 5 times a day.
I think they played only until lvl 60 because after this impossible to play if you have a job :)
Nah, it can be done. I've a full time job and then some, but always find a way to hunt a little before work and after work...at least on those days when I'm not working overtime. It's not difficult to reach even 70+, if you really have a mind to do it.
Airemez, you do realise that your son won't be 4 years old forever, and that having small children is a special case as far as family time is concerned, right? You can't say "my situation is like this, and therefore it must be the same for everyone".
All that aside though - it's not like you have to reach 'end game' to enjoy the game. In fact, judging by all the whining that happens at the top level players, I'd be surprised if end game was seroiusly any more fun than the early levels.

I'm finding the game more interesting in the middle/mid-upper levels than I did in the lower levels (once the newness of the world wore off) but, seeing the 7Xers whine and cry in-game and here on the boards, I'm in no rush to get there.
Time? No kids, no spouse here, and recently fired my partner, but I'm a working professional with hours-long commutes each day... and other games that are, in other ways and at some times, more entertaining than the juvenile whinefest that L2 can become.
I would assume, that have a "GM" job is like any of us having their jobs. We want to have that job and we try to be the best at what we can do. Having said that, I would think that when a GM does see or knows such a thing, the only difference is that they have a real email address to send in the report to and they know exactly what info is needed to expidite the banning.
To think any less would call into question why I even come to play here, and I can assue you, there is no question on my part. Frustration, hell yea, but nothing any of the board moderators or any of my dealings with others at NcSoft have led me to believe otherwise.
As a non-scientific view, go to blah and see the banned players whine. The admit for the most part, using 3rd party stuff and they got caught. For that type of thing to be happening gives hope to the rest of it.
Id much rather... accounts banned that arnt used to pvp, because getting rid of people who play and pvp, which is the main part of this game has ruined it, now if they got rid of the "automated non players" then i would accept these people also being banned.
But 99% of all people petitioned are untagged afk enemies of people who get butthurt, compared to those 9 man groups in woa/catacombs etc.
Also its a bit hard to do something when your hands are tied from above, in the end, ncsoft is trying to make a profit, and if they got rid of every single bot, u know there is no way they would make a profit

Depends on the actual numbers of paying & playing customers... and how far back NCS would have to scale services to maintain profitability.
Let's say L2NA has 10,000 "legit" accounts, and they ban every botter, buyer, cheater, etc. I think this is a rather liberal estimate, but it's a start.
10,000 x $15 = $150,000 a month.
Let's say the cost of labour (coders, artists, CMs, GMs, etc.) is, say, $75,000 a month, all said.
Let's also say that maintaining the servers (power, maintenance/repair, space rental for remote servers, etc.) totals up to another $50,000 a month.
So, we've now spent $125,000 of our $150,000 a month income...
We've not even touched on marketing yet, nor things like new hires for GM staff, production of new content, etc. Let's just ignore those for the moment.
Do you think NCS is going to really bother for a measely $25 grand a month?
