When I heard that a new Race was being brought in to the game along with a quest to introduce them. I thought sweet, their going to let in the 6th race that is mentioned in the Myths and History story that explained the lore of L2. Then I hear the name of the new race is going to be Kamael. Hmm the name in the lore is not Kamael but Arteias. What I want to know is hy the change in the race name?
I suggest you re-read the lore. There is no mention that the Arteias are magic based.
Sayha instilled the spirit of wind into the fourth form. This is how the race of arteias was created.
The winged race of arteias was freedom-loving and possessed undying curiosity. Giants wanted to capture and subjugate the free-flying creatures, but as soon as an arteia was locked up in a cage, it quickly lost its strength and died. Giants were left with no choice but to allow the arteias to fly free. The arteias visited the city of giants to give them news from other parts of the world.
It was my understanding via the quest about the Kamael that they are fallen Arteias.

Oh, that would make sense. I just couldn't get myself to do a Lineage 2 quest knowing that I would run around for some info that I would eventually get on a website.

And I thought the difference between Kamael and Arteias was like the difference between a pig and porc. One lives in the field and the other is on your plate.
