Test of the Summoner *Sigh*

I don't know if I'm understanding this write, and it isn't listed in the walkthrough:

I have to kill 3 sets of 60 mobs to do this quest?

If so, I'll gladly go Sorceror on my alt.

Class change quest hate at a new high atm if this is the case.
Reading the guide, Trensharo is right. He has to kill 3 sets of 60 mobs. 60 mobs yield 2 cards and he needs 6 cards. So 3X60 mobs.
lol never make a Warlord
Its super fast and nice exp.

1. Get the card that requires Lizardmen and spores. Go Oren, port to eitherp plains of the lizardmen or sea of spores, get your 30 items, then soe and port to the next.
2. Back to dion, hand in, get the same card again. (Just deleted those that arent and request new).
3. Rinse repeat.
4. Time to face summoners. You should have plenty of dim. diamonds so not a problem. I suggest. Talking island - Wasteland - Elven village - Bie hive - Crume - Eva's garden.
5. Done
It's okay, I did it. It only took abotu 2.5 hours.

Actually, the fastest is Breka Orcs and Fettered Souls, since the orcs can be 2 shot and the souls are plentiful in Hardin's Private Academy area.

Yea, this is the only quest where I actually did a full level of XP doing it. Not the way I like to XP but whatever. 60 MOBs is a bit much tho. I feel sorry already for the clannie that is rolling a PS (he has low playtimes :( ). It will take him about 4 days to do this quest.

Do Warcryer buffs hit summons?

Was thinking about rolling one and then levleing them up together. Dunno tho, I'll have to check the class change quest walkthroughs before I make a final decision.
60 mobs much? Try Destroyer class change lol.

60 mobs much? Try Destroyer class change lol.

hell yeah 2 or 3 times 100 mobs to kill and drop rate for 'proofs' isn't even 100% if i remember right

Do Warcryer buffs hit summons?

Yep they do ^^
Only overlord buffs don't affect summons.
I can't understand what the big deal is about killing 60 mobs around your own level. I mean, how many mobs you normally kill in a buffround while exping? I'd bet more than 60. Warlord and destro quest requires you to kill a few hundred mobs..
The Test of the Summoner is the single least stressful second class transfer ever (I feel I've some authority on that since I have taken it four times now...), since you can pick which mobs you want to kill - so you naturally simply get the lists for the areas in which your level 35 and 37 quests make you hunt anyway, and then suddenly all you have to do for the quest is going a tiny bit out of your way at some stations of the other quest.

Its flexibility makes it the easiest there is.
I believe its HE quest that requires around 100+ mobs in plains of lizardmen... so 60 is not THAT bad :p
Hell its too easy. Try to think how many mobs u need to kill to reach 60 lvl for example and ull see that 60mobs are a piece of cake :)
It's not 60 mobs, it's about 250-300 MOBs. I had to go back 3 times and there were times when I'd kill 15 mobs and only get 1 quest item drop.

Also, half of those 250-300 MOBs were 2x HP - Lizardmen/Fettered Souls. I do not grind on 2x HP MOBs and having to spend 200+k on DBSpS/Magic Haste Potions for a class change quest is a bit disheartening.

Not really understanding what class change quest requirements have to do with getting to level 60...
We're just pointing out that if this seems bad, wait until you hit level 60.

This quest is a ton of mobs though as the drop rate sucks.
So why on earth are you taking the list with the lizardmen/fettered souls if you don't want to hunt those?

And I would argue that in all the times I've done the quest, I've never had a problem getting items to drop - were you not alone by any chance?
Even if its 300 mobs or 3000 mobs I am 1000% sure you killed more to get to A grade on ur nuker as u state on ur signature. Just say its not big deal since u can exp on those mobs(imagine if u had to kill a few hundreds of dark blue mobs that give no exp/adenaz).
yea. they are great mobs for xp, so why complain about it? :S just start at lvl39 and you might be almsot 40 when you are done with the quest.
One of the things that I have found to be a true time and money saver is to do all three class change quests at one time. If you are playing your first character in L2 this is not a good idea but if you have already done a few chars then it is the way to go.
I always do the quests as I lvl. That way I dont have to be stressed out. If I get the quest item, great. If not, oh well.
I usually wait until I'm level 40, then go back and do the class change quests.

Either tonight or tomorrow (depending on how late I stay at work), I'll do the Summoner quests. Looking forward to them!
I did them while leveling. With the d. diamonds its super cheap to travel around and I had enough to use a scroll everytime I was done with a 60mob task and travel to all the summoners.

The lizardmen can be a pain cause of the hp, but if you move abit you'll find soldiers and archers, those are faily easy to take down. Sease of spores can be rough with the drake aggro.

Anyways, i've done alot of 3. class quests and this one really is cake and you actually get nice exp from it.
I still have plenty of dimensional diamonds left from the last few class change quests that I did. :)

I am going to approach this like all of the other class changes....a time sink and not much else. I'll just buff up the summons and sit back and watch them wreak havoc.
I'm another one of those who do the quests as soon as they become available instead of waiting for lvl 40 and then doing them all at once. Lvling up an alt can be a bit boring when you get close to 40, so I am actually looking forward to doing the quests, since it's something else to do than stand in my usual "xp-optimized" hunting spot killing the same old mobs over and over.

And yes, I was astonished at first, too, when I read the initial post about "omg 3x60 mobs far too much" o.O
It now takes me about 4 mobs in a good group to even get 0.01% and for example the Silenos quest for S grade armor recs requires you to get 2500 quest items for a chance at a random S grade main armor recipe, and you get maybe 20 quest items max per buff round... so I guess I got used to "the grind" and having to kill 60 mobs actually seems like heaven :)
You can also do them right at 39 when they are all available - that usually nicely covers that level, putting you within a few percent of your ding-to-graduation.

I'd hate to have to go to back to levelling a first class after finishing the quests.
Maybe the novelty just hasn't worn off on me yet, but the class change quest wasn't bad at all.

Evidently I wasn't the only one doing the quests, as I kept bumping into a couple players at various stages of the quests. I did all three quests (both Marks and Summoner) last night, and almost leveled to 41 doing them. (Ok, so I spent more time killing stuff than necessary. It was good therapy for me.)

The biggest shocker is that there was NO ONE in CT when I had to hunt the Porta. That place is almost always farmed! Has Baron von Ban Hammer struck again???

With the class change "speed bump" out of the way, now I can really step up the XP rate. Lvl 56 here I come!
