lol, one more sign that they hate us more.
and i mean NA market...
we re being abandoned more each day, with useless events, no gm's, half of servers with low population problems.
and OF COURSE asian market is getting expanded.
gratz to NC Asia, QQ for NCNA slackness for ALL this time.
\disappointedonemoretime
well, if its same crap with /NOCARE MODE = ON ... Q$?%§& it ...

will be same as here, 1st time u seen em care a little (OB -C2)... then GM's disapear to knowhere and farmers run the servers, lol
LoL. If lineage2 is growing is good for all players.
USA players must convive with the rest of the world.
You are not the center of the universe.

You are not the center of the universe.

I am ORC  :p
erm who said L2 is doing great in all of Asia is mistaken, check the below comments on the status quo in Taiwan..

"That is an even going to happen in TW server.... not that you care but some of the servers are combining, (however it doesn't apply my server). For 1 week, all exp and drops are 200%. And there is another event of getting some other stuff ... .but since it doesn't apply to NA server, no need to translate all that..."

"Because there is a huge number of player decreasing in TW server. In order to attract players back & new players to start, NCTaiwan needs to give some incentive. In L2, without people you are basically screwed cause in most cases you need to party. As a result, combining servers would cause some problems to castle owners on the 2 servers that are being combined, as a way to compensate, NCTaiwan came up with this stupid idea of leveling + dropping at 200%. (At level 79, if you level at 0.1% per hour, now it's 0.2% per hour, not that much difference if you only play 3 hours per day, 10.3% vs 10.6%)"

totally irrelevant. OR you re playing in a server thats not facing population problems like most NA servers.

I play at Gustin and we have a big problem with population. But i dont see problem of new servers at other countries and with so diferent language.
The NA server population problem must be solved with NA server population.
NCSoft have announced a new trial scheme to encourage the NA/Euro markets. This clearly shows they are now trying to build the populations back up.
Any increased exposure of the game in the world has to be beneficial to the entire L2 game worldwide. The more people see L2 instead of that other "cartoon" style game, the more people we can get from there !
don't forget - if you can read taiwanese, you can play their servers. just the same as if you can read Japanese, you can play that server. you just need the proper client to get going.

although this means taiwanese folks get something that we dont, its by no means obligatory that all servers everywhere are uniform. the servers vary as the faces - as do the GM's and CM's and HGM's.

if that kind of marketing is what works in Taiwan, great. supposedly it doesnt work here though.
WTB access to Korean server

WTB access to Korean server

ah, for this, you require your Korean citizen code.

wts refund.
Them opening up these servers in this market has nothing to do with us.

It also seems that there is a third party involved that is trying to open up many games to this market.

But it doesn't affect our budget as the money for our market, for NC NA, is already set aside. It also comes from our subscriptions. And of course, money from all markets goes to other projects as well.

The issue seems to me that they are not spending "enough" money on marketing or are not doing it well.

They have a huge opportunity with this new update. It should be amazing and they should really try to generate excitement with their marketing.

Should.
Them opening the servers have very much to do with us, IT IS AN ENGLISH SERVER.

Which much pretty sums it down, neither is the server run by NCSoft, Asianmedia bought up a license to run there own servers. This will be even more appealing for some.

There is other MMO's who's like this, they usually ends up being better then the 'NA' versions of the game sadly. Friendlier players to count up one.
so this is the only ... legal ... official private server ?

so this is the only ... legal ... official private server ?

Well something like that.

And it depends... if one can purchase the right to use this new client on the web then perhaps that will effect us. I didn't take that into account.

I keep forgetting that the web really does bring other markets right to your doorstep no matter where you are.

hmmm...

Though I wonder how different they really can make this player experience. They must have to follow some sort of rules laid down by the NC team such as keeping rates standard, etc.

Thats exactly it :P

I debated going over, but then I know what happened to the last game, they banned all IP's of a non Asian origin, and we had to use Proxies to get in.

Not to mention which they didnt accept US Credit Cards, so its not as easy as just going over and signing up... for any Asian type (japanese, thailand, etc)

Well, if that's the case then I don't think it's a huge worry.

The average player doesn't know anything about proxies. So if there needs to be some sort of "fix" in order to connect then there will only be a small percentage of people who might go to these servers.
Most Asian English servers does not IP block on other hand there local servers do, like Korea, China. But most don't.

I highly doubt this will IP block to, and I highly doubt many of the current L2 base here will move there, on other hand I'm sure it will take most of the new players who's interested to play L2.

WTB Korean citizen code :)
They arent hard to obtain :)

On the other hand, my experiences with other "imported" MMOs... that is, where a game was licensed from the original developers and hosted/ran by another company.... were pretty dismal. Worse than the worst thing that's ever happened in L2.

There's some good things to be said about keeping it all "in house".
After checking this out and go to their forum they have to consult with NCsoft if they want to make any changes like allowing other country to play. NCsoft want the rate to be the same 1x. OH and the Closed beta test is your those 3 south east asia country only, verify by the those country cell/home phone number.

so this is the only ... legal ... official private server ?

Yeah, its going to be kept pretty tight within those borders in the beginning.

not the only one. there's one set up in korea, to my knowledge.

if you want, you too can buy the server code from NCsoft. i think it costs something like 200,000 dollars, or somesuch. of course, that doesnt give you the right to distribute a game with the logo lineage 2, and other such rights. that's what this deal was about.

so this is the only ... legal ... official private server ?

It is NOT a "Private Server". A private server is illegal no matter where you look at it, it is a violation of the International Intellectual Property Rights and Copyright Law which major countries in the world signed and agreed upon years ago.

Lineage II South-East Asia is as official as NCsoft Austin's L2 servers are. L2-SEA is as official as the NCsoft Korean servers are.

Only the countries agreed upon will be able to connect to the servers of Lineage II South-East Asia, these are the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia. To register and activate an/your L2-SEA account, you need to have a mobile number issued in one of the three countries mentioned. Additionally, you have to be in those three countries or you will not receive their mobile network's system message authentication.

Also, L2-SEA fee is only available in pre-paid cards, which you guys call the "Game Time Card". The pre-paid card is available in hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly gametime. Credit card penetration in South-East Asia is low, not enough, and not even justifiable to spend money in partnering or establishing a credit card payment system/facility. Don't forget, you also have to add customer support dedicated to credit card problems.

Allowing other countries to play on another server is by "law" and by "binding agreement" not allowed. Such decisions requires a new round of negotiations, a new agreement (or added provisions to the existing agreement). It is not like "hey, NCsoft, can we add Indonesia to our list of territories?" Expanding your scope of service doesn't work like that in the business world. And you also have to register your company and be subject to the local laws of the country you want to expand your service to, in other words, you have to invest more money than you already have before you can start "official" operations in a new territory.

No you can not buy the "server code", you buy the "publishing license". These are two totally different things in the business world. Previous Press Releases of AsianMedia mentioned that they paid for the Publishing License for the amount of U$5.5 million. So your 200,000 dollars is way too low. Now if you want to buy the "server code", then that will surely cost you x10 of the U$5.5 million, or not at all, because "server codes" are not for sale, it is the "publishing rights" that is.

Also, the new server is a regional server. It is for South-East Asia - the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Im one of those who's waiting for Lineage II in our region, its finally here. Some of my friends reported that plaync.com doesn't accept "new" accounts coming from the three countries mentioned anymore, instead they get a message that they should register at L2-SEA.
