It seems like I usually see Dwaves carrying blunts. But, I know for my WC duals and daggers seemed much better, even though they are intended to be blunt users. Will using a non-blunt hurt my spoiling rate?
id say duals are fine for D Grade, as ure blunt masteries really aint all that. Take NG Blunt for stun if need be, its only l8tr on B And A were personally blunt is the only way to go >.> Your spoil rate wont be affected by ure weapon.

Blunt has no effect on spoil rate. Only the level of spoil and the level of the mob make a difference.
Dwarves only get Blunt masteries and their skills require a Blunt (or pole) to use. For the most part, it's their low Accuracy stat that makes blunts more useful to dwarves than the patk from masteries. (Blunts have a natural +ACC stat) And the ability to stun if you have MP to waste as well.
Different weapons have no effect on your spoils. With duals or dagger you will most likely miss a lil more often then the blunt weapon.
Back when I was first playing my scavy you could buy 3 Tarbars for the price of one top D weapon. So I ended up buying 3 Tarbars and + them up till I had one left and lots and lots of DSS :p (ended up with my first +10 weapon that way :D)
If you're using skills like Stun, you won't have enough MP for Spoiling and Sweeping mobs.
If you're solo in a herb field (no one else ninjaing/needing the mp pots) you likely will have enough mp for both, unless you spam stun on every mob.
It's nice to at least have the ability to stun, but of course you can use an NG blunt with a stun macro, though macros can be slightly unreliable at times.
I am going to put one more idea out there.
If this toon needs to level up quickly, a pole is the way to go and get yourself down to the first level cats. Within one week, you can hit level 40, have massive mats and be ready for your real investment, level 40 and beyond.
If you are just leveling, then a blunt is the best thing for now. It hits most of the time and does good damage.
Stun has such a low land rate that I'd rather run or pop an elixir of life than depend on it. I have tried scallop Jhamadrs, a polearm, a bonebreaker, a claymore and a mithril dagger on my dwarves - I've been most happy with the polearm when surrounded by live support classes (as it makes them useful), otherwise I was quite fond of the claymore.
The dagger was good, but I had prophet buffs at the time. :p

Really, I just want to be fairly efficient at spoiling to help accumulate all the mats my alliance needs for A grade gear. And I'm assuming I will be able to do a better job at this after level 40 than before level 40 - am I right in this?
For base materials, roll some sort of damage dealer and manor it. Or use your main - I believe he's a destroyer? Take some seeds to your nearest catacomb. Spoiling will never help acquire enough base materials. In either case, don't use a pole if you want mats, since single-targetting is the best for manor.
If you mean key materials or recipes, you will want a pole to get to level 64ish fast.

Yep, my main is a Destroyer. And yes, I am looking for base mats - varnish, Stone Of Purity, Iron Ore, etc. So maybe I should just manor with that one. The only thing is, can manoring get the Stone Of Purity?
Actually poles are decent to level up very fast uptill 50~52
(or atleast they were for my bounty hunter)
As for Stones of Purity, i think it was the imp like creatures in pilgrims that spoiled them rather well.
You can't manor SoP's, but what you can do is manor something else. Sell that mat and use that money to setup an over night buy shop for SoP's. Also don't forget you can spoil and seed the same mob ;)
