Well, okay I just started playing this game.
I'm a lv30 Elven Knight at the moment.
I've been trying to decide what to become when I reach lv40 but I couldn't decide so I wanted to ask you guys.
Right now I'm leaning more towards to Sword Singer but both Temple Knight and Sword Singer sounds all good to me.
Here's what I think and I'd like to ask for some suggestions or comments.
I think Sword Singer would be more fun compare to Temple Knight because of their songs. Temple Knight doesn't have any attack skills other than cubic summonings. While cubics sound interesting I heard that they cost a lot too.
My main cocern is the fun factor. Of course that would vary by person but I wanted to get the general idea of both classes. I want to know their strength and weakness, their soloing ability, and roles in parties.
The swordsinger usually takes an assisting role in the party, while a temple knight, on the rare occasions that he is not forced to party because people scoff at tanks and don't need or want them in tehir groups, leads the group.
Just when you're in the group, gameplay wise, I think the TK has more buttons to press, and I personally enjoy a tank's job more than a bard's.
However, actually being pretty much guaranteed a spot in some of the best parties in the game (polearm parties and archer parties both want swordsingers) as opposed to having to solo most of your way may increase the fun factor significantly.
I'm at the border of which is worse paladin or TK I'm leaning a little toward paladin since their heals are worthless even with everybuff imaginable to help it and the speed is slow and 5 times and your out of mp... and TK's have cubics and a useless cubic skill cubic mastery lvl2=able to summom 3 cubics at once.
Paladins are without a doubt an excellent class as far as tank goes - just as TKs, as a tank superior to DAs at least, as well. Except, of course, if they try to heal with Holy Blessing.
TKs can summon three cubics on their own (two of which are useless in a group, but that's an aside).
Don't solo with either of these classes. Seriously, reroll now if you want to have any ability to solo without a 2-box at least. These are party-based classes.
TK's are one of the worst classes. Horrible damage output, just horrible, almost the worst in the game outside of pole classes (dwarves and warlords). Given that tanks are necessary for nothing in this game, and TK's excel at tanking, there is almost no demand for them.
Swordsingers are still in demand in a variety of groups. Definitely easier to find someone to take you into a group or clan as one. Whether its more fun is a matter of taste. They aren't tanks. If you like being the tank, if that's the most fun, you're best off as a DA or SK. If you like doing some tanking, some buffing, and some damage, the swordsingers the way to go.
Im a tank (Hell Knight) as main class and Sword Muse as subclass. I will not lie, but the tank class is far more fun to play. With an SWS you will get into random party easier tho and level faster. SWS is a more atractive class but imo the tank is far more fun to play (when you get a party).
SwS is an easy way to go. But TK is more interesting imo. As you can see, people do not play tanks much, and if they do, they take some DA, who tanks the worst (because he`s partily a dd/summoner). But tanks are still needed for raid bosses, and they are cool to play in sieges ;) admittedly more cool after the 3rd prof though. And nothing is more rewarding than a party member saying thanks after you pulled back a room of aggros from him :)
Anyways am a lvl 78 TK and believe me i have played other classes (SwS / TH / Archer) and the best class i have enjoyed playing the most is my TK. Its more fun to play than the other classes cuz they just assist or dd and after a while it gets boring. TK is a challenging class, and worth a try if you want to have a fun and challenging class, not an easy one like other DDs / Party assist classes.
If you are worried about parties! ONE!! massive advice, dont rely on finding parties, if i were u i did start practising on how to setup your own parties, cuz thats the only way to go. How do you think i got 78 and also a hero in less than 2 years? :p
Thanks for all the comments everyone.
I'm not a particularly tank person but I do like the concept of knights. You know like, knight in shining armor saves the princess from a dragon or something like that :P
I do like being the very few and that's mostly why I chose Elven Knight as my main. But I still can't make a decision! I know I'm going to play one of them but which one!!?!
You know like, knight in shining armor saves the princess from a dragon or something like that :
Then you want something other than a tank or hybrid tank, as neither the TK nor the SwS will ever get the glory of saving the day.
Personally... go SwS... at least then certain people who really know their class and how the buffs you provide enable them to do what they do will actually recognize you and your contributions to the party.
