Those weapons are ones hardly anyone has even seen, I doubt anyone seriously thought they'd just hand away free coupons for em, especially with the bugs in the shadow weapon system.
My problem is, that I should get some S grade items to play around, becuase the should suit my lvl. My problem is, that high A grade means either NM or Maj, and if I get NM I can delete it right away. My problem is, that I can get just "middle" A grade weapons, would be nice to see some of the new ones around.
You cant share these weapons, cant refine em, cant enchant them nor can you put a SA on them. They have a limited lifespan, and I think it wouldnt really hurt to see some "top" A or S junk around. You cant really pvp or pve with them, just play around a bit.
And if the lifespan isnt over next week, they could delete them during the maintaince to even more limit them.
Be nice to see some the new weapons around for us too I do not think besides the duals anyone has even made any of the new agrade weapons in NA so why would they be given out?
They arent meant as replacements for weapons they are just so you can test out changes in the game, if you have an sgrade toon where is all the gear you left behind?
PS your getting 300 million in gear for free for 7 days to test out new content how much more do you want?

Keep in mind that the "highest-level" condition will take into account your sub-class as well, if you are set to sub-class status. The character you currently have set as your highest character will get the items.

I dont want to sound hypocritical, because usually I'm the first on the bus when a event sucks, but frankly I think this event would have rocked even just with free 7 days.
Adding on 300+ million in gear is icing. Whoever says you cant hunt with a Soul Bow at 77+ is a freaking.
Okay, where did I get 300m worth gear for free? 1 weapon and 1 armor (a grade) = 300m on your server?
As for the gear on lvl66, they said its for the highest lvl toon, that would be my mainclass, not sub, but anyways, I (any I think most ppl also) allready own what I need. I think it would be fun to have some other gear to see how it looks/feels.

What, it should at least have been shadow hero weapons and some new super-duper uber armor better than s-grade, there should also be a free set of boss mob jewelry thrown in as well.

I view this event as benefitting returning players (primary goal) and pre-existing players who haven't had the adena or the luck to get their gear yet (secondary goal). I'm all for it, even if it means the occasional griefer.
As for everyone else, if you've been fortunate to kit all of your toons to your content as I have, then just kick back and enjoy the game as you normally would anyway.
If the newsletters are correct, there are more events in the works. We just have to wait it out.

L2.... the only community that when given an inch, will take 6 extra miles, complain that they have to walk the 6 extra mile, steal your car to drive the 6 miles, make you pay for the gas, drive the car off the road into a tree, light the car on fire, steal your wallet, beat you with a bat, call you a noob, tell you to carry them the rest of the way, and then complain because you are walking to slow.

just a passing remark:
remember that not everyone plays the same way. to you, gear you can use might be DC robes; for someone else (namely someone korean) it might be NM robes.
and if the items youre receiving are based on your level, well, all i can say is .. LOL
edit: this might explain why the end game is broken - the devs did not count for people using different gear at different levels. take a nuker, stick him in Maj robes and you have a lot less powerful nuker than one in DC robes. given the DC is lower grade than MAJ - instant broken end game.

I said that the event might be good to get people back, but for the rest of us... the people who are still upset over last event... this event is again useless.
I never said it was a bad event, but that it is just pointless to most of us. By us I mean me.
(Oh it is a bad event if not a single person reactivates afterwards. I would LOVE to see the stats on reactivated accounts after the event, but I doubt I will be privy to that information.)
I personally was happy about this event.
I can now test a Kris for my Summoner to see, if I would miss much more with a dagger as my Samuray I have yet or if the cubic triggers more actually.
So I have a better picture if I save my money for a Kris or an other weapon.
I wished more cupons to test other weapons too :)
The problem some people have, is, that the event is thought for legit players who can not purchase top B-grade +12 when they hit L52 ;)
(I am L59 and run around with a Samuray and Jewels not all C grade.)
I have supply coupons on an account I disabled a while ago. I received 1000 standard sps (not blessed) and 10 life elixirs for a "mage" supply box (you could choose between mage or warrior).

The event runs from july 3 to july 10. July 3 to july 10? Why? The timeframe is stupid, its in the middle of the "summer hole".
Suggestion: Run this event again the first week CT1 PTS is out. Why? First, its winter, ppl stay more inside in winter then in summer. Second, just as now, ppl can log in to live servers and get a hold of stuff they missed, can see if the game could be fun again, find old and new friends etc. Third, ppl can have a look through the window what comes up next. Also, I think most ppl that quited never had a 7 in front of their lvl, and if the PTS trend continuous, they will get their toon boosted to a high lvl and adena for gear given. Maybe they find the endgame worthwhile to reach.
2. Event-Design
Ok, inactive accounts get 7 free days and 5 coupons, while active accounts get 0 free days and 2 coupons. Thats what I call not fair. Its more like a punishment for active accounts, next time they have this event (if ever), they should redesign it a bit.
3. Rewards
Ok, for returning players, the rewards may not so bad, but even there are some flaws (armor wise). For active players, I think its not enough. We had crappy events in the past, this one is also crappy and the 3-times-recycled-US-holiday-event for 4 weeks is BS aswell (just my opinion). I know, they say there will be good events in the future with fashion item etc, but now is now.
I said I want items suiting my lvl, thats what I've been told to get (read the coupon text). As I said somewhere above, if they dont want to give out S weapons, why then not the new top A weapons? Why is everyone so upset I demand for the active player something better then they got now? My main- and subclass got all the equipment they need (well, a tessa would be nice, but...).
Would it hurt? No! Great impact on the market? I dont think so. Lots of griefing? More then now? I dont think so. And would some clean shadowstuff help you PvP/PvE better then now? Maybe. But not this much. The items have a good limit of 10 hours. Also NC didnt said a word that we can keep the stuff after the week (if its really so much trouble, they could delete them).
What I want from the event guys? Well, I would like to see how my buffer gets around in a Drac Leather. The stats dont look this bad. Maybe I would buy one after this week. For the weapon, well, I dont know. I had a drac /focus in my hands before, same goes for Arcana /acumen. For PvE I still need my weapon WITH SA, for PvP I dont know what to take. I guess I still would stick to my weapon. Its just to see more of the new stuff around, since noone have them right now :(
Are you afraid of the 76+ archers gettin a free drac? When they dont have one with +++ and focus on it, they will still kill ya with the bow they used to reach 76+. Nukers without acumen SA? That would rock, imo.
I have no idea why you guys are satisfied with the reward you got. Demand more!
I don't know its already working a lot of people I haven't seen in over a year are back and i would say i personally know about 20 that have reactivated their accounts after 1 night.
So Ncsoft is getting the recaction they wanted from this. Most common answer for people returning is there just is no other good pvp games out there and they miss L2.

I think Tee is on to something here. I'm going to offer my services this one time only and make a simple suggestion that will fix the complaining. Stop all events....nix em now....no more events ever. There, now the problem is solved, no more complaining about events that whiners say are broken because they don't benefit them directly or in a way they find suitable. Oh, and for the people that may have said this before, you copied. It was my idea originally, so I get the credit.
Just one question : We must trade the tickets before July 10th, right? But will the shadow weapons and armours stay after July 10th if they still have points?

It was suggested that this could be a trial run for when the Kameal come out.
Wouldn't make the company looked bad if they did a huge push for CT1 and reactived all the old accounts for week and they had bugs in the process? This is the trial run for CT1 a lot of people who popped in game said they are excited about CT1 and are definatly going to keep their client on their computers now since they think NCSoft is more active in the community by doing this.
You do not understand how much just giving old players one week free to check things out does makes them want to come back more since they get the itch for the game again.
One thing I would like to suggest for the next time they run this is to allow the set bonuses for armor to work. It would be nice to be able to test out a set before you buy it. Other than that, I think the event is really cool.
Why stop it all because of whiners..Let them whine. They have the choice to participate or not.

That was just a bit of sarcasm on my part. Whether I participate or not, or the event benefits me or not, I think it is a great addition to the game. For those that take part, it is something to do besides the same 'ole grind to get to the end. It may cause you to grind, but it is just enough to make it a little bit different. Yes, keep 'em coming.

So instead of my active toon currently leveling its sub my non active toon thats not subed but same level and higher % then my sub on my active 75 w/ sub toon gets the event items. All I get from support is too bad so sad. I mean what so bad about allowing it to be freighted or just moveing it to the correct toon since it was never touched and never will be. Would have been nice to get a A grade shadow weapon and armor to use but I guess it will just be another NON-Event for me.

Methinks you just should have read the event description before the event started. It quite clearly says there:

So all you would have needed to do was to change your character to main class before the downtime, and then that character would have received the coupons. The event description really was sufficiently clear about this...
well my Sub and the toon they put it on where the same level and switching over from my subclass is very time consuming. Going from a inv of 100 with warehouse of 120 to my sub with 80/100 more then maxes me out preventing me from switching back unless i drop half my inv on the ground to do it. I assumed that since booth toons where the same level it would default to the last active toon. And yes I did make sure there was 2 spots free in my WH.
Well I would normally ask a question to confirm my assumptions but considering it took NCSoft 72 hours to respond to my last petition I dont hold out hope for a timely response. Not to mention the less then 10% chance ill get a correct response or one that even answers the question asked. Not trying to bash the support team just giving my experiences.
So what kind of supplies did returning people get? shadow GSAPs?
Each supply certificate for a-grade range gave 7 a-grade hp elixers and either 300 *** or 300 asps depending on if you choose mystic or fighter supplies.
