Finally instances are coming to l2 like wow's port function, anyone know anymore info on em, i checked blah and other sites, but no info.
If it gets implemented correctly, ncsoft finally gets something right, now integrate pots and put an ACTUAL pvp system which ISNT a timesink, and sort out the archers, and erm make mages and healers useful in olympiad, healers bit more offensive, and INCREASE the drop rates on mats and adena, NOT fulldrops and you'll NOT only solve the adena buying and ebay problems but ALSO bring ALOT more players into the game, the xp as it is fine, its the low mat drops and low spoil rates and crafting that REALLY screws up the game, forcing players to buy from farmers.
I hope they make the new instances without level limits etc., and not an extended festival dungeon.

Uhm, just one question, how do you know 'Instances are coming!!!' if there's no info about them?
there's a brief mention in one of the Kamael translations. I would point out though that originally the Rift was translated as instances so it's very possible it's a Psudoinstance like the rift.
Ya well rifts is one thing but when whole places like WoW has instanced would be horrible, level places wouldn't be contested or anything. Lineage 2 + instances = carebear = wow

Camping the instance entrance woudnt exactly be hard, unless its in a town.. but I'd rather doubt it.
Same as in WoW. If you didnt want people to hit a instance, stopping them if you were on a PvP server was rather simple.
as much i hate to agree i really would like instances.. i wouldnt play then becuse they ruin the game.. but put the bloody bots in them... i dont wanna see them..
And just increase adena drops in there so the bots stay inside..
And dont increase armor and weapon drop... the only AWSOME thing about this game is the crafting function so just develop that a bit.. dont know how though , maby make the Crafting more visual.. like when u making Corse bone powder.. make the Player acually hit the bones..and stuff like that... but dont do like vanguard or wow "everyone can craft".. thats one of the unique things about L2.
Instances are about the only way to integrate farmers, instances give players a choice to mmo or not, if mmo means having to go somewhere else because a farmers taken my spot, ill take instances any day, the pvp system in this games broken enough as it is. And NO im not washing my pk's, wasting my adena and time levelling that piece of crap soul eater, poor excuse for a pvp penalty timesink, JUST because of some farmers.
Give me instances anyday my times too valuable to participate in broken pvp systems. Seamless worlds dont work in an economy driven game, this game proves it, bring on the instances and save your time and energy reaching the end game, instead of having to deal with idiot farmers.
Wanna xp in TOI lower levels? Good luck...
You know, if it's botting, you can just uhm... train it? Seriously...
Anyway, if you want instances to hide the farmers in, that's all well and good, but like so many things, it goes against the very spirit of this game, and all that makes it good.
spirit what spirit?? we're talking bout facing reality here, not some ideal, this is the way things are right now...
yep train then spend the next hour regaining the xp lost from enforcers and their allies, most of the clans on bartz anyway are botter clans, td etc., seen em all botting their pants off. No thanks... Try training in TOI at the lower levels... you cant even find mobs to train lol!!! SOOO many friggin bots there... hello calling ncsoft GM'S TOI Tower infested!!, how bout the new community manager send that to the right ppl??? Clean up TOI then go through the cats...
With the obvious botting and NCSOFTS reluctance to do anything bout it, and you're still against instances, face reality or enjoy getting ganked by farmers and their allies.. GL!!!
If you'd rather play a game that is no longer L2 than deal with L2's problems, why are you still here? Bots aren't something that the game design should accomodate, no matter how much Blizzard may say that instances are a perfect solution to the problem.
Blizzard doesnt say it, whats instances have anything to do with L2 no longer being L2? You need to stop idealising what the game SHOULD BE and face upto WHAT IT IS, a bot fest, i NEVER stated i never liked it, this is the way the game is, instances will fix it, farmers get shoved into instances, gamers get to play the game the way it was meant to be played. Simple. If you dont like it, how bout YOU dont play the game lmao...
Theres the arguement, theres no two ways round it, bots are here to stay, theres the solution, you cant idealise it, or offer idealised arguements, nobody's interested in an idealised utopia , its never gonna happen.
OH and btw since when should game designs NOT accomodate bots?? Theyre HERE... MMO'S ARE NOT a utopia, theyre NOT meant to preserve ANYONES idea of spirit or any other hare brained drivel, its about time they came up with some designs to accomodate them. Theyre here FACT, FACE REALITY, lets see some solutions to a REAL problem. Game design HAS to accomodate them, theres NO getting around it. Bots ARE a CASH COW, get it through your skulls and start demanding they integrate them properly.
Whining bout your pet peeves and personal opinions will never solve anything, if you can think of something better to accomodate ESCALATING numbers of farmers taking up real estate in the game, bring it to the table, and form a united front against it, we might be NCSOFT NA, at least we can make ourselves heard coherently....
btw the increased adena and mat drops were to help gamers compete with the farmers and their instances, if instances dont get implemented, its not gonna happen
If people didnt miss this unless u let bots take castles only real clans will have access to them wow you people go off on tangents.
IE this is like owning rune castle you get access to the raid boss in the basement please read before you blab about things that are not going to be in l2.
Instance = safe way for bots to farm adena, lvl up chars to sell, clans that use bots to get reputation points and bot up their chars (main/sub) without having to worry about other players reporting them.

Start aggressively banning the buyers. Permanently. If the game account you play on gets banned for buying adena, all the accounts attached to your credit card, currently and in the future, are likewise banned. Thanks for playing... but no thanks, your money's no good here. Using a GTC? Ban by MAC Address.
Is it a perfect solution? Is it fool-proof? Of course not. It's a start.
Dry up the buying market, there will cease to be a selling workforce.
Several companies have taken a hard-line stance against botters and farmers. They'd rather do without the revenue of the farmers than have them spoil the image/spirit/feel of their game. Believe it or not, many devs *do* care how their game "feels" to its playerbase. Heck, even E&G does this about L2... hence no x2 XP/SP/Drops events.
Not a good idea...MAC addresses can easily be faked (with a router) and can have the result that the MAC that gets banned really belong to a legit player and not to the one that ebayed or botted.

Don't fool yourself, revenue and profit come before the image/spirit/feel of the game. No profit, people get fired and servers shut down. This is an completely Adena based game that was designed, from inception, to be a perfect system for botting. I doubt that was a co-incidence.
Money is the bottom line. NCSoft is a business not an afterschool club. They knew and know exactly what they are doing.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
Good luck when their raid-sized force of S Graders come to drop you.
I seen Bloodsoul/Syndicate "raid" a B Grader in Valley of Saints for killing one of their bots, and then dropped her clan/alliance as they ported in.
GLuck with that.
BTW, on Bartz, almost all the bot groups in TOI lower levels have a "live" farmer on a A Grade or higher Dagger/Archer there to watch those bots. Attack them and they will attack you [and so will the bots].
You can't train them when they keep the area completely clear of mobs, either - bot group in every other room.
Have fun running trains from Floor 4/5 to floor 1/2.
So stop telling people to train bots, it's not what the MM experience is supposed to be about (the same way you say instances are anti-MM, so is having to train bots and lose XP soon after just to hunt in a specific area that would otherwise be clear).
Stop telling people that, it's [censored] annoying.
QQ.
And you should level up a bit before you continue to give people these wise cracks. Unlike B Grade, high 60s-70s you cannot get 7-10+% a buffround. Having 1-3 of you toons killed by an S Grade toon just because you were trying to do the valiant thing by training bots is just not worth it. at. all.
Your opinion about XP loss changes alot when you LEVEL UP and experience the XP loss. That's why people will wait hours at high levels for a BRez.
Syndicate (Farmers) is one of the top geared alliances on the server. Unless you are in TD/Nova/SC/NC you don't want to train their bots. Relationship is another farmer clan making a name for themselves (even competing in olympiad and winning some matches IIRC). They have every class imaginable at 76+ (all noblese) and if you kill their Apostate bots SRs and HEs are coming to get you.
For all intent and purpose a rift is a instance...
Nah, it's not an instance, since the main distinguishing feature of instances is missing - that several people can do the same content at the same time. You cannot have 50 parties doing the hero rift raid boss at the same time - simply because it is not instanced. Heck, you cannot have 50 parties doing the hero rift at the same time, full stop. There simply are not enough rooms in there. That every party which ports into the rift gets its own room does not make it an instance - it is just a dungeon with rooms which have no doors.
Instance = everybody who enters it gets his own copy of the full area, and there is no limit as to how many players/parties can enter the instance at the same time. That other players cannot interact with you while you are within the instance is just one feature of instances, but not the main one.
I honestly don't know how to feel about this. Not 100% what instances are, but i think i got a good idea from this thread. Anyway, i think the plus points would be that it's another way to encourage party play (if it's even needed), but at the same time, would it not technically suck large numbers of people out of the 'world' so to speak if it proves to be somewhat popular, as they'd be in their own dungeon doing stuff rather than interacting with others on the outside as much?
Exactly.. it's little black holes that people crawl into and go zombie mode farming for gear and XP.. it's supposed to be a PVP game.. if they introduce this they better make towns PVP enabled!! Because that's the only place you'll see people, except for n00bs and neutral RP'ers..
:P That's the thing about ubers that never ceases to amaze me.
They all cry "more PvP". Then they form up a group that has no chance of losing against anything it might encounter, and wonder why anything they might encounter doesn't stick around to lose - all the while stocking up on BSoEs in case anything they might have encountered could call up backup.
Is it so hard to have a fight enjoyable to both sides?

Use to be you could train mops into town and let them have a go at the townsfolk. Good stuff. Wish they wouldn't have stopped that.

It's still possible. I see dead shops in Goddard now and then - the design of the area just outside of town makes it easy to train aggro mobs to the inside, even by accident. It's just a bannable offence now.
What was neat in Lin1 was there was a wand that when clicked on would summon a low level mop to where ever you were.
You woudl go into giran square and blow one of these wands, usually about 10 to 15 uses. Little golumns, etc would run around causing some havoch.
Another good one was you use to be able to get a mop to be your pet if you could get its hit points down real low and cast a control spell over it. As an elf, I could control 3 of these. So I would go up to the ice lands and snag three large snowmen and take them to town, release them and then port out. - Now that was fun.
