Drop & Spoil Database - What's Official word?

General Discussion Started Last reply 17 posts
Back at release, we had Prima release a guide that contained all of the Mob Drops, Spoils, and chances. NCsoft must of shared this info. with them to produce the guide.

I recall prior to terminating a few years ago, there was a lot of requests for NCsfot to release this info. to the community if a publisher wasn't interested in updating the guide.

Was there ever an official position taken by NCsoft on this, giving us an understanding of its position?

Thanks -Bam
why bother? google it, there are a number of sites that do a brilliant job at giving drops and their rates.
Giving accurate drop info would allow private servers to copy this info and have accurate drop info on theirs, which they currently do.

A certain site has somewhat accurate droplists, but they do not take into account multiple droplists for the same mobs, they don't give totally accurate stats, etc.

"A certain site"? I know of at least two (three if we count the official Korean L2 site).
Was never able to find Interlude droplists on the korean site. And they only shows what drops, not the chance of dropping.

Yes, there are other sites, but they really only copy either the drop lists (no drop rates) or copy that specific site.
...or use a 3rd party tool to monitor drops.
Drop rates would be nice, i miss having the usefulness of the prima guide :(

http://www.l2.stiff.ru/drop_calculator/ does neither, as far as I can see. It's, in part, inaccurate, but I like the detailed statistics and skill lists of the mobs in there.
The prima guide was my bible.
Maybe this would be a good time to make your own.

If the information, less the "percentage rates" are given on the official Korean web site, why are they not translated and given to us? That is the simple question I would like to know.

The prima guide was my bible.

Aye, it was mine too.

That's great there are sites that offer this info. to varying degrees, some for free, some not for free. I think you've answered my question indirectly, but ideally it would be nice to have it officially answered.

If the data is up on the Korean site, it doesn't do me much good, since I don't read Korean. While one can use a web translator, the game consumes enough time as it is, it's hardly fair to have to spend hours on another game of deciphering information that is in Korean.

Well, we have still been unable to find the Interlude droplists on the korean site, so its possible they discontinued it. We've asked here about a link before, but noone provided it or we would have updated our own droplists on Stratics :( (Can't anymore since our programmer left)

Maybe this would be a good time to make your own.

ask Splatter he was gonna do one, if he havent cancel`d that one as Prima did ^^

It is my understanding that Prima didn't make the choice to stop making/not update the guide, but rather, that NC decided that they didn't want to give out the drop info any more. No official drop info = no good guide info (what's the point of a guide based off of old info or guesses and assumptions?)
there are sites that have accurate drop lists. market prices. etc.

so why don't you let go of yer old [censored] Prima, and find a new good site. who gives a ratatat's pattotie if you used Prima or whatever.
