That was a rather quick deletion.

At least the old community reps would send you a pm when they deleted your thread.
+1 before lock?
LOL it's sad, how about instead of just banning forum accounts you listen to your player base, this is "NA" we're not communists so chill out on the censorship.

Well it depends how over the top it was.... :(
Hmm.. I did not see anything wrong with it either.. but then again, that is the problem with a board run by a game company. They can censor it how ever they wish. Like it or not.
Thats really a problem with any board.

I bet it was because I violated the tos by discussing a game other than lineage 2!
Yeah, you can't ask for better events, and can't say that another game have better events, even if its Lineage1
Way to go NCSoft.
It was the events one? Even Alyra posted in that one

Yes, it was that one.
LOL, just LOL. GG NC, you ROCK, NOT.
What? They should just keep the flamefest going? allow the personal attacks and flames?

This isn't blah you know, this is a company board.
Deleted posts are HILARIOUS.

It's right up there with "Read My Lips: No New Taxes" and "I did NOT have...relations with that woman." Once it's out, can you really take it back???

The good news is that Alyra mentioned "the best is yet to come."

Keep the faith, folks.
Yeah, I'm hoping Warhammer Online will be good. Thats how much faith I'm having with NC due to the recent events and the upcoming Kamael [censored].

There were not any flames or personal attacks that I could see, did everything go to hell within the past 30 minutes of me posting and then refreshing the thread?

Regardless, where is my pm telling me my thread was deleted and for what reasons?
Cute sense of entitlement. Where does it say they 1) can't delete whatever the want and 2) have to tell you why they deleted your thread. ?

I've had a number of posts deleted and I never got nor really expected a reason why. Other than the "stop being naughty" post when it was deleted/locked.
+1

and stop whining or go play another game
you choose to play L2 and you still pay for it or you wouldn't be posting here.
no body is forcing you to play this game.

plus they own this board and the game, they can do whatever they want without explaining a **** thing to you.

/crymore
/quit

I wonder if this is about GMs coming out of birthday cakes, shooting off fireworks, and dancing for you. A lap dance and I'll be hooked (or scarred) for life. Ok, maybe not birthday cakes but that other thing.

This is not a fan site. This is an official forum run by professionals. I expect professionals to act like professionals. A thread that has multiple posts in it by the community rep should not just disappear with no explanation. I do not understand why the last few posters, such as yourself, have decided to be so confrontational about this.

Responding with fallacy and other illogical posts like "go play a different game" is trolling and is in poor taste. Overly sarcastic replies bring nothing to the conversation.

I made a reasonable post and the community rep responded in kind. It does not make any sense for such a rare and valuable example of Ncsoft communicating with its player base to just disappear for no apparent reason.
We just have conflicting expectations that's all.

That being said I'm guessing if they did open it to discussion like telling you why by PM, would just cause an endless back and forth about how the person disagrees with the verdict, thinks the mods are a bunch of you know what's, and then posts said PM on the boards asking w-t-f is this? Just a guess ;)

That certainly is an interesting guess. Personally I'd call it a conspiracy post but either way, here we are. Typical of the majority of threads on this forum: A player has a comment, complaint or suggestion that miraculously is not deleted, and instead of it being answered by a member of the staff, a legion of forum regulars descend upon the post playing good cop/bad cop, effectively doing the job of the staff for them... leaving the original poster and the posters that support them unsatisfied.

These are not busy forums by any means, is it so much to ask for a sentence or two from the person who is paid to do just that? You and I can guess all day long and it will not do either of us a lick of good. I have just as much common sense as you do, I am fully capable of drawing my own conclusions. Putting that aside, I still would like the courtesy of an official response.

Threads do not just entirely disappear by accident. Even when racial slurs are used in very derogatory terms, the post is generally edited leaving the rest of the thread in tact. The questionable disappearance of an entire thread should be addressed in a timely manner. I fail to see how either of our 'expectations' have anything to do with the basic principles of professionalism on a corporate board.

Ncsoft is a multi million dollar international corporation. It has been providing forums for all of its games in multiple countries over the course of nearly 10 years and yet we still have incidents like this occurring.
Uhm... it's not the staff's job to answer forum posts. It's the staff's job to answer support tickets. '__'; The rest of us here are posting what we think/as we enjoy it.

If you want to deny that people would endlessly argue with it when given a reason for the deletion, check the good old /signed campaign (I think it originated in Bartz), which violated a large variety of rules but insisted on being 'fully justified'. None of the participants could understand why their particular complaint was deleted/got them banned.

And if you want to see a problem with official responses - just check how often that one newsletter from 2003 or what it was is mentioned in the context of server transfers or mergers, remember the "outrage" when things didn't go according to intial plans on PTS (in C4 I think).

If you wonder why a thread was deleted, the best course of action is to send a PM to the community manager with the title of the thread in question and explaining both why it might have looked like it should be deleted, and why you feel it shouldn't have been. That's worked for me before.

If this was the Lineage 1 thread - it was, plainly in violation of forum rules, and if you'd read them you would have known that when you made it - of course, that doesn't mean it should have been deleted, but that is probably why it was. Adding something a bit more constructive than "they get such cool events, why don't we?" might have helped.
This threads full of lunatic fanboys, maline, ellie etc., delivering the usual fanboy drool, who ever deleted that was a disgraceful act, regardless of the usual its their game, fanboy idiotic responses.

I suggest the admins be a lot more subtle and the idiot fanboys crawling all over this thread enough with the pointless [censored] kissing
There is a difference between being a fanboy and being around long enough to have seen everything that has been brought up surface time and time again.

You call it fanboy, I call it experienced.
You gracefully picked out the two girls to call fanboy.

I'm not saying I would have deleted it, or the rule is good. But the rule exists, and therefore you shouldn't be surprised when it is enforced after being broken. It would have been easy not to get deleted if your post had been more than an (admittedly pleasant to read and articulate) complaint with little basis in reality.

I'm not sure if L1 is seamless, but I'd assume not - do you know what kind of trouble it would be to put landmass in just for an event spanning a few weeks, and then remove it again, considering that this is a 3D world not a tile collection?

It's like RO - they get a hell of a lot of new hats all the time, but a new hat for RO takes a practiced pixeller maybe a few hours to make, since it's only eight graphics (period). In Lineage 2, you usually have two models (darn spoiled dwarfgirls), then the textures, and finally of course you need to ensure that the whole thing doesn't clip and looks decent with all the various hairstyles.

Yes, yes; We need more, we need better events. We need events like L2K gets, things like piggies, more inter server stuff and more out of game competitions. However, all that takes time and money, and just saying "look what someone else gets, why don't we have it, whaaa" without even taking a second to think about why adding land-mass to a probably map-based and definitely 2D game is easier than in a seamless 3D game is about as far from constructive as it gets.

Neither Ellie nor I are always approving of what NCSoft does (I should think I'm one of the biggest whiners around here actually) - just because you blatantly disregarded the rules and someone pointed it out to you, they're not a fanboy/girl.

NCSoft doesn't do everything right; far from. If they did, we wouldn't have people botting up their academy toons (i.e. with tag on and everything) and actually getting away with it. If they did ... well, there are a lot of things to list here.

But none of that has anything to do with your own failure to read, comprehend, and abide by the forum rules. ^_^

You call it fanboy, I call it experienced.

I loved that....Lmao :D
It's just a dismissal phrase anyway, the poison well "what do you expect her/him to say she's a fanboi/grrl/whatever".

Nevermind the freak out I had over being lied to from support over c4 replays working on "live" c5 but not "pts" c5, god awful quest rewards, ridiculous petition responses, etc.

But likely this thread is another one of those, you agree with me or you are a fanboi moron things.

This is not a fan site. This is an official forum run by professionals.

Exactly, this is why you can't get away with the things you can on blah. Blah = Fansite, Official Forum = Professional forum.

This is like going to a fine restaurant, pay big money for fine food, then expect the place to allow you to act like you're over at your friends house for a drunk party.
You put your faith in EA? ROFLMAO!!!

Yea, I'm beginning to be that desperate.
