Actually, I do. On a continual basis, a more, um, touchy-feely, warm-fuzzy approach is preferable. But I did like his way of handling things during the intermission.
While i like the no BS straight to the point, blunt outright, we mean business approach.. I somewhat expect that of spam now, it would be strange if he suddenly changed his stance... (i think we all expect it now, since we've gotten used to it)..
Alyra however is in a "phase" in which i'd say it's anyones games, but i'm leaning towards the "as much information as i have available, and soft" approach initially, and if anyone flips the bird at it, a swift kick in the groan is provided in the similare fashion as spam.... i like that....

HGMSpam has blessed us with his appearance today, I suggest everyone go see this miracle because it only happens every now and then - in the Player Questions area.
As a high GM he has to be straight to the point; it's the same in any form of management. In my industry for example you will have Mr. X Analyst giving you every reason under the sun why something isn't done and will try to blag his way through blaming x, y and z. Where as I will just say "It's not done." If a reason is required, the client will ask and I'll answer accordingly.
No offence to Alyra, her job is to "mingle" with the community and to be a friendly face/avatar for us all to use as a conduit to the GM teams where as Spam is the big cheese who says "Yes" or "No".

Hmm..well...all the "we mean business" replies don't mean jack if the "business" doesn't get done.
The game has been live for 3 years yet we still have the same problems plaguing the player base since its inception, from bugs to bots to glitches to inconsistent (indeed sometimes non-existent) customer service. So like his words all you want but what I think we'd all like to see is results. And lets face it, long term results, so far, have been…elusive.
Please note that I fully understand that his ability to work/resolve these issues might be limited but because of the nature of the way NcSoft has set up their customer interface he is the only person whom we can hold responsible. He is the defacto face of the corporation.
So, with all due respect to HGMspam, when he actually resolves some of the issues I'll be impressed.
anyone remember when spam posted in taht thread about the persons quest in the 4 scupters being bugged and he gave a smart [censored] reply and was wrong?

Expressing discontent is fine, and even appreciated, but I do expect a certain level of respect, maturity, and constructive feedback that I can actually use as ammo to get things changed.

Mystril aka Mistryl was going to be gone for a while. So spam posted that he was in charge of the forums. I thought it was all real funny so I made a thread, "HGMSPAM!" and the contents were something like "how fast are you? BAN ALL BOTS!"
15 seconds later it was pinned with his response, and in about 5 minutes he locked/deleted thread.
Don't worry, we will protect you.
Can't let anything happen to our new CM. You need to be here at least a full year (so you be vested) before the pitch forks and torches come out :)
Wow that is the first time I've seen two people on staff reply so close together rather than on the same forum, Although I like Alyra, not so sure about Spam( No Offensive ;) ) But I have to admit I hardley ever seen Spam on the boards except somewhere in player questions were someone was talking about something about a banned clan leader???
