That irl comment was really unnecessary and, yes, not constructive in any way shape or form, (throwing jabs, insults, and baiting is not a good way to make yourself heard) but I'll answer your question nonetheless.
It was not meant to be taken that way. Time after time (at least with the old community coordinators) the excuse would be used that a lack of events would be due to the staff working on something else (like a chronical update, or in this case, everyone being at the meet and greet). I say excuse because I do not see how-single-person at the OFFICE would be working on an update which is essentially a packaged deal from nckorea that gets applied to the servers which are not even in the same building >_>
Also, a lack of events for a month+ would be accredited to a chronical update simply being planned to be on test server. It would not be a very far stretch of the imagination for someone like the previous community coordinator to say that the next event is the meet and greet, and how they will be swamped before and after the meet and greet, then a bunch of forum goers would jump on the thread and tell them to have fun irl and that the other posters protesting should basically shut up and quit the game...
Sorry if I seem old and cynical, I am =_=
How much work does it take to flip a flag to activate something like 2x exp for a weekend? The code must be there, since I doubt the dev team takes the time to manually edit every single monster value for a multiplication of x amount of exp for every single monster when they do 10x exp on the pts.
The next event will be "officially" announced in the next newsletter, which is being sent out early next week.
But the previous news letter hinted at a hair accessory event this month, the next event being officially announced in the next news letter implies that the next event will not be until well through next month.
I'm pushing for an event calendar, actually. I suggested it a few weeks ago. There's been some resistance to the idea because nothing is worse than announcing an event, complete with dates, then being faced with a delay.
Fair enough. You certainly are more encouraging than previous community coordinators, however that only goes so far. I can understand not wanting to put out a release date for something like c7 this early, but I am having a very hard time envisioning something like the firework event getting delayed.
Perhaps I have been too hard on you, I am sorry, but I still think the rest of your coworkers could do a better job at whatever it is they are suppose to be doing. For instance, two weeks ago we had a patch, and you said that the patch team said there were no patch notes. This week there wasn't a patch but now we have patch notes? There are some serious communication errors there.
Before the next person tells me to love it or leave, I do love it. I love the game. The company running it has constantly let us down though. If I had a korean ssn I'd be playing the Korean servers with a 500ms ping in a heart beat...
