After doing some research (lore, races, classes, features, etc), I deceided to buy the game. I made a Human Fighter on Bartz (lowest ping for me) and log in, and starter town had people in it!
It was pretty cool, after awhile I get pked by a chaotic character. I thought "Hell yeah!" it was awsome! I love having to watch my back from not only mobs, but also Chaotic players as well. It keeps the suspense of "whats gonna happen next?" up. Great game so far! I've run in to a couple bots, but what game doesn't have em in one form or another?

See... people keep telling me "OMG pkers are bad and make people leave the game". If this game is RIGHT for you, the pkers will be your motivation.

I thought the same way. Yes, pkers are "evil", but they are necessary. They make the game exciting and interesting.
Ya, blessing of protection is cool. Some sorc tried to jump me on my dagger. Hit me with a nuke, took 0 damage and I had no clue why. I thought I just got lucky and started breaking line of sight on the guy with a tree. Went on for about 5 minutes until I realized I had blessing of protection on and just let him go out of mana on me.
It ended with him telling me to have fun, and I told him the same. lol

Well, I wouldn't go that far but I don't think they should have it.
It goes against the nature of the game.
If they want to incorporate those types of changes then they should make a relaxed server or a limited pvp server.
Or essentially, "some sort" of alternate rules server.
edit: I'm going to go so far as to say that it's poor plannning on the developer's part.
It's as if they didn't take into account that it would be "hard" to level up to the top lvls so they are doing everything in their power to insure leveling as quickly as possible.
Pking is part of the game, there shouldnt be a protection for it at any level, its not like you pked trillions of times, you get pked once in a while when grinding, thats good imo, spices up the game.

Since c1-beta this game has gone from hardcore -> carebear game, these herbs are silly, makes things way to easy. the grind lvl 1-50 is non exsistant, can be done in like 1 week top. after that i dunno since i am hitting 51 now but in c1 it took me months to reach 60+ with wc. now i will probebly do it in 2-3 weeks. Adena is also really easy to make now since of necros/catas, pole ect. This game is really newbie frindly now and its probebly a good thing. but that talk about excitment.. pfft.

1 week of SOLID grinding, non stop. then 1 more month of SOLID nonstop grinding to 70, 1 more month of SOLID nonstop grinding to 80.
now tell me honestly how many friends can you make while youre grinding NONSTOP? 0.
how much time do you spend sitting down and selling when youre NONSTOP grinding? 0. unless youve got a Giran box.
how much time do you spend learning how OTHER classes work so that you can kill them quickly? 0.
so yes, you COULD do 1-80 in 2 months and letitimately. but watch the weight gain alright? bad for your health. youd also be the world's worst pvper.
