Untill the GM's get the people to stop shouting in giran you can quite you own screens with /block "Angry Player Name" and you dont see there shouts anymore.
When you /block the person spaming you don't see there shout's tell's trades or white chat anymore.
While your intentions are undoubtedly good natured, suggesting something so obvious is almost as irritating to some of us as referring us to the support email address. We posted here on the forums about the messages, not because we were too stupid to /gm and /block them, but because we were outraged such blatant tos violations were allowed to carry on for such a prolonged period of time while in a very heavily populated area of our respective servers for all the world see...
Yup. Usually, if there was a halfway decent in-game support, such a spammer who a.) obviously uses a 3rd party program to spam and b.) spams offensive text should not be able to do that for more than ten minutes before being banned into oblivion.
That the spammers were able to do that on many servers and for HOURS shows that there either is no live support at all, that they are hopelessly understaffed or that the procedures for banning players who are doing 100% ban worthy things are just taking too long. I mean, it's not as if they have to do any lengthy investigation to see that these spammers MUST be banned...
Something's not right for sure.. After having recieved a GM response for my report of one of the PM spammers, I see the exact same "person" PMing my boyfriend with their advertisments. Uber slow reaction (if any, I don't know) on NC's part, even if I was the first to report this particular person.
It's rather disconcerting that they can go on shouting for hours, threatening the lives of someone's family, without anything being done. IMO it should take one shout and they should be banned in less than 20 minutes after that. What's there to investigate anyway? :)
