Yeah, I've been to a slaughtering as a kid once. Awesome stuff. you never think how much blood there is in such a small piglet until you see is squirting and just not wanting to stop. :)
It was **** yummy, even though the roasting took forever. And we had some freshly made black pudding to take home, too.

On August 7th, players will be able to participate in an all-new event called Zaken’s Curse! Lift the curse from the unfortunate thieves-turned-swine, and gather Zaken’s pilfered booty for rewards.
The top Golden Apiga collectors on each server will be awarded a rare hat!
This kinda eludes to that this event will only last a day :( :confused:
Sorry if the wording was confusing! We mean the newsletter to be a peek, not full info, then the event page launch to have all the details (dates, full storyline and such). The event will indeed be not only more than one day, but also more than one week. ;)

**** IT! I'm gunna be on holiday for half of this event >< hopefully my hotel will have wireless internet....
I travel a lot, and it's rare to find a place to stay these days without a Net connection. Check it out, and change hotels if you have to, if for no other reason, to boycott such a motel =)
On a more serious note I wish Sun would put as much work into Solaris x86 as NetBeans. That piece of crap won't run on anything but Virtual PC (gotta love Unix in a VM :( ).

Well I know I won't win the hat but I can't wait to see what other rewards are in store. It just has to be the week I'm set to be married though doesn't it? :p At least the honey moon won't be for a while hehehe.

Well, yeah, I got the newsletter myself. But always in the past, whatever was in the newsletter also followed very quickly on the home page. Usually the same day. It's no big deal, just a question of curiosity.
Well maybe its just me, but from the pic on the newsletter of the golden piggie in the background I would bet that the reward will be this hat (http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/9292/variastv4co3pd6.jpg) (upper left corner) instead of the massively coveted pirates hat.
after all this is ment to be a PVP game not pve X.X
just a question :> like to see one in the near future (and no i dont consider the server vs server 9 vs 9 pvp thing as pvp, thats set pvp) i more mean competing for something good :>
9 vs 9 is group pvp... not server vs server pvp. Just because the group represents a server does not make it inter server PVP. It actualy is more akin to Guild Wars arena style pvp than anything else. I personaly never understood the appeal koreans had for arena fights. Real PVP is open field using terrain to battle. At least in that DAOC got it right. Camping port spots does not fall into that description mind you. I am talking real tactics using the terrain advantagously to fight. Alas ... thats with all other things being close to equal (eg.. equipment, levels, etc.. ).
