I agree that you should start on bartz, if you go anywer. I tried bartz, hinde and my old server kain when i came back to the game few months back and bartz seemed to have alot more people. People were really nice on bartz too got 1 mil as a welcoming present from someone on TI ^_^

Yeah, not really worried about restarting at 1. I've made so many alts that I think I have the progression down to a science.
And as for PVP, I'm the type that thinks it can happen at every level. In fact, in my experience it HAS happened at every level. You'd be amazed how feisty those low level toons are when it comes to hunting area rights. :)
Rolled an LE fighter and did the port to Giran quest at first chance. Talked to a few folks there to get their feedback on the server, and then ran all the way to HV, picking up drops that folks left along the way.
I had 50K adena by the time I got to HV (found mostly in Leto Lizardman domain), grabbed a haste pot and an SOE and ran to Aden, again, still picking up forsaken drops along the way.
By the time I got to Aden I had 120K. I hung out in Aden for a minute chatting with the locals, and then ran down the hill to BS and the Devestated Castle areas. Again, more free adena/mats and plenty of aggros to avoid, but I did it.
Once I left fields of massacre, I soe'd back to Aden, and then ported to Rune. You all know where I was headed next --that's right, first to FOTD and then to VOS.
It took me forever, since I had to avoid aggro of every kind (my toon is only level 6...if an angel even breaks wind, I'm dead), but I now have enough adena and various supplies to get me going. Thanks to all who offered help, and thanks even more to those higher level toons who hate picking up their drops. :D

True. But then they start to engange their high level toons and fun is lost :(
Yeah, but I figure that's no different than a higher level Red coming after me, so I don't worry so much. If they have to log their higher level player, then they've already lost the fight in my book.
Losing XP at lower levels doesn't bother me, and by the time I'm high enough for it to be of any consequence to me, they'll either have left the game from boredom, or we'll be on equal footing.
BTW what class where you going to roll a summoner?
Not sure what class I'll have as my main. I know that I will start with an elf runner (to roam for adena) and a dwarf (spoiler probably), but the main is tougher. I don't want to play any of the classes that I already have on Devianne. That leaves the door wide open for my first Orc toon, but I could roll any of the other classes that I haven't played yet: SR, Glad, DA, TH, EE, SpS, and SwS.

The point of the "litmus" test was to see how much activity was going on in the various hunting grounds, to see if the players that I talked to were approachable & knowledgeable, and to see if I could get a decent headstart on adena just by running around all of creation. I'll do the same on Bartz, Hinde, Gustin later this week.

Smart move that... eg.. what I have done occasionaly in the past to see what other servers are like. If you decide to stay on Lionna feel free to look me up. Mind you all servers go through phazes, and Lionna currenly is not in a good one at high level. But 6 months from now?.. who knows. CT1 might change things. Interserver wars are needed badly to inject some adversarys to the primary power clans on all the servers. Once they have adversarys they might stop caniblizing there own server and focus on moving the server foward. I have seen this canibalizing happen on Sieg, Lionna, and on Kain. I imagine some other servers have had similar experiences either currently or in there past.
You do realize Devianne is the 2nd highest NA population server next to Bartz right? so him leaving to go to hidensmith or lionna would mean even less people.

Weak. I made 1,2m on Bartz in one day just from loots at HS on a lvl 5 toon ;p
As for your question, Lionna is fine but I would go on Bartz.
I did Bartz Sunday night. Very crowded, but I noticed that there were "automated" blokes at Breka outpost and all through Dragon Valley. In fact, everywhere that I ran, there were automated players. I did see some real players, but none courteous enough to give my lowbie toon a simple wind walk. I'm sure Bartz is a great server, but first impressions can be ****ing.
