I post on a different forum that when you make a misstake you can edit it, and when you do there is a small dialog box that you can input a reason for that edit.
I think it would be great if we could get a In-put box for editing our post, allowing us to state a reason for the post change, rather then seeing: post has been edited by "XXX" @ "X" time.
Don't think thats a good idea, I don't want to have to sit there and type in reasons every time I correct a spelling error, expand on my post or correct grammer, that would be pretty lame.

it's not that you'd have to.
it's just a box at the bottom so if you want to edit something you can state why you edited.
I just think it's dumb to go edit something, then be forced to type in: "edited: cause I'm a idiot that can't type worth a dang!". when you can have a box that is below the sig's, and you can type a reason. Hell even a drop down box with prearranged reason would be good.
Its a common capability especially on vbBulletin boards.
It can be useful if you change your original post but someone replies to the pre edited post. Obviously if you changed a word or some insignificant item then don't give a reason but if you make a change to a question or an answer then it is worthwhile. This all depends on the time limit to change the original post. On L2 forums its quite short whereas on mine, its unlimited.
You have to consider the ability that changing the core of a thread after many replies could make the subsequent thread irrelevant or at least erroneous.
On my board, if someone sells something after several weeks, they can add "Sold" or whatever to the post. I "must" as far as I'm concerned.
