I wrote a response to another thread a few weeks back. In my mind this war ended years ago. For L2 to be viable the play experience had to meet the expectations of those that wanted to partake in it. Part of that experience is being able to go out and quest/grind without having to go vigilante on bots/farmers to clean up NCSoft's mess. People can quote all the stats they want in regards to how many accounts have been banned but none of that ever mattered. Banning a bunch of accounts while areas are overrun with bots trains is just that: it's banning accounts with the end result being that areas are still littered with bots/farmers.
50,000
100,000
500,000
Millions
It doesn't matter if the end result is that you can stroll into a Catacomb and not find a single room that isn't being farmed by bots.
NCSoft did what they could/would years ago and the game is the way that it is now. If you can enjoy it, awesome. If it just gets too frustrating then there are alternatives. When I quit I went to "another game" and I never saw a bot, and I think that I saw a few farmers a handful of times. That was after I had played that game for two years.
This war was fought years ago. L2 is what it is and if it ever had a chance at being anything different it would have taken place back in the day. I don't get mad anymore. I just accept it as a part of L2 that is not going away in the slightest.
If they did ban all the bots, L2 would pretty much only have a small community. Its the truth
Yes, because the legit players hate the idea of being able to play without getting trained by farmers and having areas to hunt in. That sounds like an absolute nightmare...

well L2 is "designed" to have bots/farmers playing it, i would say. Without them, there would be no market, or very small one. L2 isent a game you can play and get your equipment while you grind, its not possible. at 70+ you would still run around in Dgrade stuff, maybe some C and B grade if you are lucky. and a middle Dgrade weapon. If you never ever used shots, you could prolly afford one of those very very rare Bgrade weapons.
the alternative would be if everyone rerolled BH so they could farm their mats themself (cuz you wont be able to afford buying them from those that sell them)
They would have to rais drop-rates by 1000% (x10) if this was a bot-free game.
Sure, if they removed all bots NOW (very likely, hu?) I dont think the game would change very much, cuz there are a lot of "live" crafters around, but if the game started bot-free, it would have been a game played in D/C grade equipment, at least for a loong time.
Maybe they should fix GG to block the bot programs instead of blocking legit applications?
Currently GG doesn't nothing but being an annoyance and make it less likely to want to play Lineage II. I can't even have L2 running in shop mode on my main machine because it blocks Avant Browser, so I can't even browse the internet.

Wow you sound like a moron :) Typical ignorant NA player, talking about a game designed in Korea that has insane measures to prevent farmers and very little farming problems DESIGNED to support farmers. GF.
I'd like to share a song I sang today on the Bot technical thread. Please, feel free to join in =)
To the tune of "Imagine" by John Lennon.
Imagine there no bots
I wonder if you can
No inflated economy
No ebay or spam
Imagine all the people
Playing L2 for real.
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
Someday I hope you join us
And Lineage 2 will be more fun.

OMG I know this has nothing to do with this thread, but THANK YOU! I was wondering what this song was for the last 4 days, not knowing what it was, the real one that is...your song is nice but...yeah...sweet! OK now back to whatever this thread was about!!!!!

Pfft its not impossibe to get your gear by just hunting when using a bounty hunter. I agree it would be hard but not impossible. If everyone would have a BH alt and spend some time to get stuff it wont be to hard.
With the farmers/ bots its just so easy no one needs to roll a BH.
The game is designed thst higher lvl chars get lower grade items that they can sell to lower lvl toons.
If everyone would get top grade key parts and recipes you need now by hunting why you would need a market at all ?
Oh i also see bot groups hunting in C grade in A grade aerias.
So in general the bounty hunters and warsmiths would be the chars with best equipment and its not hard to get equip for alt chars with a BH too.......

L2 was never designed to be a one player game, where you can obtain top grade items as soon as you hit the level. It was designed to be a "team effort", aka "clans". A "clan" would work together to get the required items to properly equip themselves and continue further into the game.
Back in the old days, players were grinding away with d grade well past thier 40's, as well as B grade (this was before there even was A grade) to max levels (70).
The only reason there are farmers is because of the mindset of the "gotta have it NOW", or the "I'm not wasting time on that" people that just cant wait or work for anything, who instead turn to thier plastic money for convienece, because they feel its "impossible" to obtain said goods alone.

BH still useless and won't get in my group, despite what you say.

But they're right though.
They're not supposed to obtain it alone.
Let's not demoralize this thread into another market discussion. There was a 30+ page thread about it.
I think he really worded his argument kinda dumb but overall the point comes across.
It's not really that L2 is designed for botting/farmers, it's just that NA will never have the amount of players who play the amount of time the Koreans play. Korea is a very small country, with many people who play this game like a full-time job. Over here people have full-time jobs and play this game for fun. You have people in Korea who have legitly farmed so much adena they need multiple toons to hold all of it. In L2NA you have people who brought so much adena they have every boss jewels in the game, top high OE weapons, and +6 sets.
NA players don't play a game like a job to obtain anything. 80% of L2NA ebays, maybe more. Even more than half of the people who post on this board, I'm sure. I would say 30% of them also bot.
After all, why do you think the farmers are still in business?
BH still useless and won't get in my group, despite what you say.
Die, in a fire - IMO.
Roftl yeah beside the fact i dont even want in your party and even if i would keep my useless spoils so that a jerk like u dont get even one.
I remeber times where a BH could sell full plate armor parts for 1 mil each and recipes well up to roof too.
To be honest without the bots or farmers you could never obtain your gear on your own if you dont have your own BH and WS. You wont even have soul- or spiritshots.
Hahaha i can only laught because i go outside and earn my gear by hunting only and make good profits from my spoils when i decide to sell some.
NA players don't play a game like a job to obtain anything.
Why should playing a game be comparable to a job?...I agree with a lot of people that, in its design, L2 should be a "team effort". I'm sure in Korea this works quite well, even without treating it as one would a job. But L2NA lacks the huge player base that makes it work so well over there. I'm sure it's been beaten into the ground (and then some) but if L2NA is to flourish, much less *survive*, NCSoftNA needs to be given the freedom to make changes to allow L2 to work as well for its NA player base. /endrant

90% of statistics are pulled out of someone's nether-region on the spot. ;) I don't doubt that many people do, but I am one of the few people I guess that don't believe the numbers are *quite* that high. Call it wishful thinking...
Too obvious, people even post freely that they bot in other forums (you know what I am talking about) and even have screenshots, they do not even fear getting banned...
Yeah, I miss interactive, English-speaking GMs too.
For all I know, the current T1 GMs do speak English, but since all I get is a macro'd response, much akin to the macro'd adena4sale spam, I couldn't tell you for sure.
I liked being able to interact with the support staff and describe whatever it was I was petitioning in further detail, more than what fits in the initial petition form now.

Poor legit players.
Woah wait a minute. English not being my mother language, i might simply not understand what you said. I am legit and you are saying that us, legit players, wouldn't be able to stand the game without being trained by farmers and having spot to trains!? I don't get it. I wouldn't want a farmers to train me and i would like spots to train. No? This is gotta be a big misunderstanding or simply a joke.
PS: If there would be a big red button that would blow all the botters PC, i wouldn't hesitate to get rid of those that can't play the way the game was meant to be played. I'd like the small community over botters anyway. But if that kind of thing would happen, it's obvious they would merge servers together so no big deal.
