i dont know if forlogging's a bannable offence ... you could just as easily of dc'ed (or if it was intentional ... pulled the plug on your internet, or killed L2 in task manager) and how's NCSOFT to know which really happened?
the d0rf was just vanishing right before my eyes, while me and a mob was hitting on him...that cant be anything other then forcelog.
Sidenote, there was like 4-5 little dorfys with the same eq and the same weapz and none of them were using shots...all had simular names(lazy, non-imagination-farmers)
You can forcelog without using 3rd party software. Just log into your account from an other l2 client and you'll be out of the game instantly. Not sure if it's any more legal though, but it doesn't involve any 3rd party software.
forcelogging is bannable. and its done like the poster abow me said, its only way to logg off faster then ~15+ sec. and pulling the plug wont forcelogg you.
Force-logging is using an exploit to avoid xp loss due to death. It is therefore a bannable offense. Thought I still wish that HGMSpam would jump into one of these threads and confirm this. That way we all know for sure.
You are worrying about 1 guy who forced logged when there is like 500 others in town dying to guards every 10 seconds??
Im not worrying, just reporting(or trying to).
The mass-kamikaze-dorfs back in town doesnt have to be bots, they might be from another planet(explains the weird names) and maybe belives that them guards are some sort of Raidbosses....never thought of that?
fraps is not admissable evidence for NC since you can just edit it.1 Only way to report is to /gm the names, they can easely spot forcelogging in their logs.

Also you could simply have recorded it on a private server or something.
For all of you saying Forcelog is bannable you are wrong the only way is bannable is if the person admits he is using a 3 party program or is basically a farmer constantly doing it by random events like having low hp or detecting a group of mobs incoming to his surrounding (**** fail catacomb trains :( )
you can a Frocelog done by a legit way is having a second window with you user/password already written and just making you instantly crashing you from the other.
this is mostly use in PvP and Fail Raid Boss parties.
if its bannable in their eyes the dual boxing should be too. :p
Actually no your incorrect, forcelogging the way you describe it is against the rules. Feel free to open a support ticket to confirm. Dualboxing has nothing to do with it.

wrong. there has been many posts about this and it has been confirmed that it is bannable.
Problem being, most of the "This is bannable... This is not.." details are lost in the comments and posts from 3+ years of Dev chat, CM and HGM posts and other such arcane and occult sources. None of the proposed compilations, stickies, permanent posts, whatever, have ever been saved.
Would be great if the HGM and/or the CM would post a "This Will Get You Banned" post, or a list of the things people find questionable behaviour, and the official stance on them.
/points at sig. Considering I've been hero for a half year I think I can easely tell you are wrong.. its just alt+x > restart. No forcelogging. Its only forcelog if your in combat, just like everywhere else.
say you got two clients open, you log on again thus making the other client logout, i dont think this is a bannable offence.
It is if you're doing that to avoid XP loss (ie, death) or item loss, or other similar game mechanics, from one of the threads we had on this subject like a year ago.
If you're doing this outside of combat (for whatever reason) i guess you're OK because it's a no harm/no foul sort of thing... you arent gaining by doing so, so there's no problem...
Now, the Oly didn't exist when we had that clarification, so I dunno how they look at logging out in the middle of an Oly for point-feeding. Then again, you're not force-logging, you're simply restarting the game through GUI interface, so it's not quite the same thing.

Show me prove and a written statement from the ban account owner.
The technique listed above is for purpose of training farmers and to clean areas so people can xp without the hassle of killing a stupid bot crew's in other way this is a favor so others can play and your telling me that in your eyes is bannable cause you can't kill some person while he vanish in combat mode. if your going to kill someone kill it.
since your so sure then link me to a post made by a moderator or even better ask the CM Alyra to talk to the GM's and make a Game guidelines that state what in their eyes is illegal and what is not so this urban legend stop once and for all.
I always thought that forcelogging has no function at all. Why was it implemented? I mean why is it not a normal counter, say like 20 seconds? If for some reason you need to relog your client, 20 seconds will not harm you (unless you want to avoid death). Instant log out is exploitable and has no reason to exist.

Umm...
The only way to forcelog is to exploit the way the log-in server works. It's not like an in-game command or something, and not something that was patched into the game in a previous chronicle.
I don't play this game from it's begining, but I remember reading somewhere that forcelogging was added as a feature against account hacking. Maybe I don't remember well. In any case, if forcelogging took place with a small delay (20 sec), I don't see any problem. Surely anyone can wait that much to log from a different PC, right?
