OEing

well, there has been many treads on this... just wanted to share my short experiance on OEing.

yesterday i decided to quit the game, so I thougth I would get a nice +16 Soul Bow i can give my archer friend, along with some other nice stuff.
Anyway, its was +13 already, so its a good chanse it will actualy go to +16.
I know 66% is always 66% no mather what, but when i OE I like to blow cheap stuff befor I OE the real stuff. cuz the propability of blowing 3 things in a row is a lot less then blowing 1 thing. (statistics)
So, I buy a ****load of top Dgrade weapons, and EWDs. (bougth top D cuz if I actualy get one to a high OE they are worth selling) well, so why did i do this? I wanted to fail 2 or 3 OEs i na row, then try for my Soul bow.
31 OEings later, I have burned all the EWD I boygth at mammon, and all EWD I could find in town. so faar I dident fail even 2 in a row :( I succed a lot fo them in a row tho, got 2 +7 out of it. My last OE was a fail tho, so i thougth well, this wasent going the way I wanted it to, but so faar no 2 fails in a row, so ill try for the soul bow.
.....
yes, it failed, and i end up with 4425 A-crystals or something like that. I was sad. not that i lost a bow, more cuz i wanted to give a flaming Agrade weapon to my friend when I left.
Oh well...
Its just bad luck. but its funny I TRY to fail 2 attaempts in a row, and after 31 attempts not doing so, im doing it on the soulbow :/
is it just unlucky, or do I se a pathern i dont wanna se? or well, Im leaving anyways so I dont realy mind (leaving becuz of the lineage2 world of bots)
Anyway, I hope you all get some luck with your OEing :)

Not realy any point with this tread, just wanted to make a last post :)

BB all
you could have simply given the +13 bow to him anyway.

im sure he will be pleased that you liked him so much you decided to risk his future +13 weapon on a slight chance it would go +16 :/
Next time. let ME enchant the +13 SoulBow. :D

Anyway, I'm sure you already see the flaw in your logic. The chance of fail is 1 in 3 no matter what grade weapon you are enchanting. As such, the concept of blowing up a low grade weapon to ensure an enchant success is flawed reasoning. In short, this is superstition at work, and not some empirical deduction. Just think -- all of those successes you had WOULD HAVE made a +16 Soul Bow...if you'd only decided to enchant the soul bow, instead of the D grade items.

That's why I always say if you're going to enchant, enchant. Whether it succeeds or fails has nothing to do with the weapon grade, or how many past fails you've had (law of averages be ****ed), how sober you are, or where in Aden and Elmore you happen to be when you decide to enchant.

Either way, good luck with your future endeavors in the real world. Hopefully this won't be "goodbye for good", but "goodbye for now."
Ha det fint!
yea, after I broke it wish I had given it to him. but he got what i had left (about 1,5b) so I think he will do fine.
Well not only wanted I to give +16 red flaming Agrade, it would also have been the highest soul bow on server :/ well, it might have been that already befor I tryed to OE.. anyway, it was not just slightly chance, it was 30% chance to succes.

I know its always 66% but still its way higher probability you will succed 16 enchants out of 32, then succed 16 enchants in a row. i dont think its very common someone succses +0 ---> +16 in one go. never heard of anyway.

ha det du med! :)

(the probability I will reroll on franz is 0,66%)
Well I for one don't care about the lost bow, it's another lost player that is more important, even if that player isn't on the same server as me. One is harder to replace than the other and that one isn't the bow.

Sorry to see you leave. Sorry to see any player leave.

That's a nice sentiment that I wished more people shared as opposed to:-

"Can I have your stuff?"

I agree, but I've also been around long enough to know that most people return. I don't know for sure that he will return, but I figure the last thing that he did before leaving was to try to beat some aspect of the game...i.e., overenchanting. That tells me that there is still something about this game that he found entertaining. I think he'll return, once the quiet of the real world gets to him. :D

Oh, he'll be back :)

He just needs a small break.
Can I have your stuff?
Hush!

...don't we have lovely community? :D
The servers give you the result of your OE attempt. It takes a random number in its generator and go to the next player who needs a randomly generated number (it may be damage dealt to a mob, a crafting attempt, the number of adenas that drops...). So when you go to the next OE, plenty of random numbers were generated and you can very well fall on another success, whatever your previous result was. Going from +13 to +16 was about 29% chance of success in total, which is crappy given the value of the +13 item.
Burning D-Grade OE to have failure won't change anything to the result of your worthy OE. All what's important is the precise number the server gives you at the precise moment you use your scroll. You pick up your number in a huge pool where your previous OE were lost like drops in the ocean.

Anyway... now you have a revenge to take on OEing, so you have to come back. Soon or sooner. ;)
This was already the 2nd time a played, took a break during c2. but yea, maybe I come back, but if i do, its gonna be on Franz/Teon. one of the reasons I left was becuz im Euro and the playtimes s*ck for me on Bartz.

sorry, all my gear went to my 2 best in-game friends on bartz, and they prolly gonna get a clanhall for it :) so there isent anything left to give. :/

all of those successes you had WOULD HAVE made a +16 Soul Bow...if you'd only decided to enchant the soul bow, instead of the D grade items.

And that number teory... Random generators is a bit more complicated , even in C++. I dunno what this game uses thoe.
WRONG. since he would have enchanted at diffrent moment if he had not wasted time on those d grades he would be back at 66% chans. THE ONLY thing that counts is WHEN you click enchant.
