my brother an i are starting a duo PvP team, we where just wondering what melee duo (archers, daggers, tanks, and fighters) would be the best duo. a few things we where thinking of (but not limited to)
2 gladiators- gladiators seem the best in 1v1 PVP, but how would 2 of them stack up?
1 glad, 1 hawkeye- both the glad and the hawkeye are good in 1v1 PvP, but together?
1 glad, 1 phantom ranger- i know the phantom ranger is abit weaker in 1v1 pvp, but if the glad could hold off the target, would a phantom ranger we able to dish out more DMG?
1 glad, 1 abyss walker- another option.
my brother wants to be a glad i think, so what would be a good compliment?
You don't get buffed by a Prophet and then run into Olympiad.
Prophet is probably the best *overall* choice. Warcryer being a close second and more useful in PvP (unnerfed Sleep, Drains, buffs, etc.). Just buy GHP if you go WC.
a dagger can use a bow (not as effectively) the same as a archer, then run in and backstab your enemy's. the Archer can stun giving the dagger a really good chance to get behind their target.
I'm not sold on glad being the best high end dd....glad run kind of slow, even tho they now have sonic burst (???, dash). but they can still be kited by a good archer and some mages. Glads also have low M df.
but a range dagger, or dual dagger/archers works out very well.
something like: SR/SR, HE/HE, PR/PR, HE/PR, HE/SR, SR/PR...with a pp would be good set up. Or try that but with daggers.
I play a PW, and it's really fun to run up behind someone and get a BS that kills them.
Typically mixing ranged with melee doesn't fair well on the melee chr.!!! Cause then the melee toon ends up doing alot of running, while the ranged toon does most of the killing.
If you're friend is making a glad, I'd say make another glad and get yourselves a prophet. Archers and daggers are nice, but the have a high offense to survivability ratio.
A glad duo more or less > any other class duo with the possible exception of tyrants. Most classes wont be able to survive the onslaught of dmg as they try to get into melee range, those that do make it will wish they hadn't. And with sonic moves, 2 glads can polish off an archer b4 he has the chance to gain any significant distance.
I dont know if any of those options are the "best" but if you go glad and your brother goes something that has run speed. . . you're going to be left out of a lot of the pvp.
PvP? Tyrant and Glad would be quite interesting to play and very deadly to face... for any type of char. Due to their ranged attacks (atleast 2 each) archers dont have as much range to safely run and kite/shoot with so it can be tricky to kite them.. especially a tyrant on rabbit/wolf or if glad makes a sonic move (thats what its called matsumoto ^^). Just hope a lethal doesnt land >.<
Robeuser? dont even think about it, we got 2 magebanes right here, lol, where the tyrant is the shining one. Both these classes can pick up enough bursting runspeed to catch the nukers without having to worry terribly much about nukes and if its a sleeping/rootig defensive mage i'd suggest taking them out first before going for the actual nuker.
Tanks? focus fire, aka assist eachother and they'll go down really *really* fast
Daggers? Same as archers in praying they dont land a lethal then focused fire on them to cut the ammount of stabs that can be done in half, 1 down 1 to go and you're both alive.. piece of cake.
Now here's the interesting one, an identical duo.... just dish it out and pray for crits! \,,,/ (o.O) \,,,/
Dont expect to be a 100% success duo against any combo though, there'll be archers and nukers.. well basically any kind of opponent does have a chance to beat you with a fairly good successrate too. I'm just suggesting this duo since both have powerful ranged attacks they can alternate with and even more deadly up close ^^ and it would look so **** cool!
Look man, just make 2 gladiators and a prophet buffer for pvp. You really can't go wrong. 1 glad is good, 2 are better, altho i must admit devilstar's suggestion does have some merit.
with duelist spirit up + buffs i'm pretty sure sonic move reloads as fast as dash does. Not 100% sure but i'm doubtful it would be any big difference. +4 +4 -8 is also still not uncommon for a glad, some ditch the dex after a while and go for +4 -4 str/con only but other than that i've only heard the HP builds ever go on - dex. so yeah its not impossible to catch up to an HE and if both glads do that + double TSS... well bye bye HE ^^. Sure second level of sonic move requires a lvl 3 sonic charge but omg it takes like 0,5 seconds to get the first 2 charges with energystones and the last one manually, lol
Btw it wasn't talk about outrunning your HE if you read it all closely, we dont wanna outrun a powerful archer thats just stupid... we just wanna catch up to you and shake your hand ^^
Gladi tat setup is usually -9 dex now, unless they go +dex -con which they get owned with.
Gladi set up can be whatever he wants it to be. -9 dex worked for c5, this is interlude, there's a bit more flexibility, a pvp glad does not need to go +con -dex.
HE is never -dex and I believe they get boost runspeed passives.
HE dash re-use is less that gladi dash and both last same time.
I am not so sure the reuse time on dash is faster than sonic move. In any even it doesn't matter since a fight b/w 2 glads vs 1 archer and 1 BD won't last long enough for dash to be used again.
How on earth can a gladi outrun a HE? I've never EVER been outrun by a gladi unless they used their dash, which only gives em enough time for a TSS.
1. So what would prevent these glads from using their dash?
2. Glad doesn't need to outrun HE, HE needs to outrun a glad. A glad just needs to keep you inside of 600 range for a few seconds.
3. 1 gladiator does not need TSS to kill an archer, so 2 gladiators most definitely will not, and when that BD is left alone with 2 gladiators that still have full cp. . .
