As i saw at some posts of Alyra they ban bots that killing pigs atm.it's very difficult to report all the bots because of the very very big and strange names they have : "dfshshfsd" etc..
I think the best if this could happen is some GMs log in without seeing by farmers/bots,so they will not log out...and just go for a walk outside everytown...
it's much easier to ban bots like this because now,bots are only outside towns and not splitted up all over Aden map.

But as another user mentioned at another post will trial account ban be a solution at the bots problem? :(
and i mean the bots xping 24/7 at catacombs...it's really hard to find a room at Catacombs/Necropolies to xp :)
why not just make that you cant sign up for a trial account under the event period, or that they have to register a VISA card at the registration, and just ban the VISA card.

Agree with this one; many games require you to put up a CC for a "0 dollar payment". Besides making sure bots dont use so many new accounts its also nice for marketing: easier to allow the player to continue p(l)aying :p

WOW. No way!!! Bots can't be banned like that!!! NO!
You MUST go under a intensive, very long time taken, endless investigation of the player before banning them!

I REALLY don't see nothing different after the event started.. you can go in any hunting spot and see as many bots as there are in towns now.. especially in catacombs.
And BTW the bots I petitioned by the time and 3 months before i created my thread STILL THERE. And they are JUST AS OBVIOUS AS the ones from the new event.

Anyway... I went to orc village to see if it was any less crowded than other places - it was not. It was swamped with bots >> Depressing. I submitted a petition to inform the GMs of the situation in orc land, but of course they wanted names. I even asked them to please not request me to give specific examples, but no dice. I'd think they could spot a bot as well as the rest of us.
Sad that posts in that manner are more likely to get you ignored.
Me, I enjoyed an hour or so of bot-free pig-hunting last night, before I went to bed. No farmers, no griefers, several players from a number of different clans in the area... no KSing, no loot-stealing....
All in all, I had a great time.
I think my only complaint is that its as tedious as regular XPing, but that's it.

where my character wanted to hunt pigs this evening there are about 20 hgxdfs names around.
I just logged in the forum to create a thread about this issue, when i saw there is allready one (what a mirace :p).
It is no more possible for legit playing players to do the event, this is a fact.
I finished 10 pigs in 10 minutes, not what I would call fun. So I logged out.
I can not play my main in Forsaken Plains because of 90% bots and farmers there, I can not play the event because of the hive of grasshoppers of farmers. So what do you really do?
Invetigating the handfull of petions I need a lot of time to write and find out the horrible names (with "I" "l" "O" ""0" "IIIIIIII",...aditionaly nearly impossible) that they eventually be banned after 1 or 2 month?

Well I beleive a lot of GM skills are name based... like they can port to a character, pull a character to them, put the character in "jail" etc, but they need the name to do this.
... not saying they can't just go to a town and have a "look-see" too..

when I would be a responsible person for NCSoft I would just randomly port with my GM tools in the pig spawn regions.
You need not to be Sherlock Holmes to find out what there happens.
Than I would port them to Dino Island. Ready and problem solved and customers would be happy.

having a lot of fun with this event though. i especially like that the +++ on the bows is just for looks, and we are really only competting for something as silly as a pirate hat. kudos.

Totally agree. If this can be so effective in this case then why can it not be used for non-event bot hunting? People have been crying out for more pro-active hunting of bots by the support teams and you have just proved that it can be done. So what is so different about these circumstances?
i have never and will never use a CC on my L2 account because of the risk involved. i always use TimeCards. and i Dual box.
so yes, i am paying a premium compared to the CC players, but i wont loose anything when someone hax the DB's.
You can't just login on your bank website and cancel (and get the money back with just 1 click) in your country? No idea how that works in countries like America, but I more or less expected USA to have more facilities for that considering its very CC based (as opposed to my country where we use bankcards with 4 digit codes and get the money out of the "wall"). If a payment is done I get an MSN msg from my bank and I can click "oh hell no!" right away :p
its not the money i care to loose, i have enough of that.
its the personal info AND CC that go together. someone with enough brains can click to find my personal info registered to the CC, and account info reg'd to L2.
using a TimeCard i risk no personal info to my NC acct nor my personal finance. with a timecard i can input false user mailing info and be safe.
and yes, before you start flaming me, i do print out the acct infos, so i padlock my doors too.

I had a very fun evening. I made a lvl 1 character at 6 servers and cleared DE and LE villages from event souless ^^
Funny tho, at Gustin, the last server I visited, the souless fight back against reds! That was pretty lol... Too bad for them I always grab first the 200 newbie SS
The heavy populated servers had the most b0ts, while I didnt see any at Lionna (LE village only). Too bad pigs spawn at the graemlins area too where is peace zone ><
Just one thing, I couldnt pk with my mystic; I hold the ctrl+ wind strike (sp) but I got an Invalid Target msg >< **** nukers!
agreed that bots are annoying..... for the love of god, i did a starter dwarf quest to kill gemstone beasts and the room was FULL of them.... it took me 1 whole hour to get 10 quest items from them (had to kill lroughly 15-20).... i wanted to PK them, but you just end up seeing them again in a few minutes. they're like freaking unstoppable zombies..... X.x
no wonder. i was on devianne (but it was DE village) when about 12 bots suddenly vanished. had about an hour of pig hunting to myself... it was pretty cool.
i went to make a lvl 1 permared and the name pigbotkiller was taken :(
managed to kill a lvl 7x tagged dude with my lvl 40 dorf, for some reason he found killing pigs more important than fighting back :/
I still need to roll up SaviourOfSwine as my bot killer... but it might be for naught. In both areas that I have been hunting pigs this week, I haven't seen *any* bots at all. In fact, the only ones I did see were a few, incredibly dim farmers who were running around TI attacking pigs with their bare hands.
Kinda funny watching these jobbos chase these pigs around town... like a scene from Deliverance...
Me i was in Talking Island Village last night and was 100% bots there ... i did like 60 pk before beeing killing by a guard -> Floran ... In fact that bot event is kinda funny ... but anyway bots win the war as always lol You kill 1 and 2 sec after he is back .... btw a lot of MMO fan site around the world are relating that event with some funny screenshot, i think lot of poeple with laught about L2 for month. I can understand.
EVERY bot i reported over the last 3 nights (at least 60) is still playing. When you cant see a bot, it means that it's bow has run out, but they come back 21 hours later. What annoys me more is the number of times i've reported the same old Catacomb bots, yet 2-3 months later i see them as raid boss farmers, in a clan.

I have the perfect answer for you : /who care ! lol Really when you read 99% of threads about bots you still have poeple who answer you that ... what does it mean ? Simple ... now, majority of players here (not here on forum but *here* in game) dont care about botting .. what does it mean ? Simple ... majority of them are ebayer or account buyer because when you are legit you really CARE about that.
When you are legit you care than a new guys appear suddently to became hero .. you care than your old german friend dont understand german anymore ... you care than after 2 or 3 years of game some guys, you never saw, begin to trashtalk to you with full stuff ... :confused:

Dunno, maybe its the hours I play, but in the two towns I have pig-fixed, I have had *zero* problems with Bots. In fact, the only time I saw them was on TI, moving my newbies from there to the MDT so they could hold some of my inventory and WH junk while I got my rewards.
I'd say where my hunting spots are, except I don't want to jinx myself!
I haven't had any real problems either (except for orc/dwarven village). But I did see a dark elf "tanking" the pigs with her fists/picking up loot with two naked dwarves behind, doing the killing. Great teamwork there.
I started thinking about the massive "show of force" by the EventElves (someone else named them this) across all the servers and I'm in awe. Someone was very organized, had a lot of time to prepare, and is doing very very big business to be able to do something like this. I read articles that this is a multi-billion dollar industry now. I think I need to quit my job.
I've been killing piggies in Orc Village for the past few days but also I've been reporting bots. LE males were everywhere so I reported them and they disappeared, then LE females (aslo reported) they also disappeared then came the Orcs so I petition again and they gradually disappeared. Great I thought, this petitioning lark is actually working for a change.
This afternoon whilst waiting to get a bow, all the LE males, females and Orcs that I'd reported the previous days all logged in together and apparently one of the LE females must have been getting all their event items from them because she received buff after buff from Bonny then she ported out using the newbie teleporter. I must say, it really disappointed me that all that petitioning came to nothing. :confused:
time to retire my legit accs and become a "farmer" ->and get rich in RL ^^
after this event "disaster" i really think u need more GM's..
start to check every single noblesse / hero ... and every catacomb, visit place like toi/varkas+++ ... and just find someone that program u a cute little bot scan utility.
i have no clue how u check all this during ur job, but...
99% i can see as a dumb user is soooo obvious... would take 1 sec to press the ban button ^^
all in all good event, rly .. but not for legits.. (they got ****** more)

They only use the "NCSOFT reserve the right to refuse service at their own discretion" when its a single bot on its own, that usually is doing nothing more than making SoulShots. An intensive ban investigation is carried out for the other 10,000 bots thats get reported almost daily, and after 3 months still ends with Heroes, Nobles and raid farming clans that no-one has ever heard of.
