Question for Lineage 2 Dev Team

Hello dev team.

With Kamael coming out shortly in Korea, I guess I have a quick question for you.

Why is it that offensive classes are getting more and more skills, while defensive/healer/buffers receive only minimal upgrades? In end-game pvp/sieging, certain classes make better use out of epic jewels/regular buffs than these defensive classes.

Why is this not being addressed?

I have waited until now to be sure that what we have seen translated is actually verified, and I am seeing yet again, another round of buffs for the damage dealers, and everyone else gets the weak sauce.

When have you ever seen more than two or three tanks on a siege field? Has no one ever wondered why that is? Why does all of the gear benefit offensive players, and nullify the weak damage abilities/tools a defensive player has? Why play any class other than an archer or nuker when you can kill most people in under 10 seconds, due to insane crit rates? Where are the insane DEFENSE rates?

Finally, is this not the opportune time for you as our community manager, to talk to the development team and perhaps get some changes going during the development process???

Thanks
Any thoughts here Alyra?
Alyra won't be able to answer until monday (and when she has time then)....

Like 80% of the workforce, she works a standard I'm guess 8 hour shift.

Please be patient.

Thanks man, I am being patient :) I just have to bump this otherwise it will be ignored.
Well thats fine then since in the Olympiad for CT1 all the nukers get Empower.
I don't have the answer to your question myself, Jethro, but I'll see if I can steal a little of one of the dev's time to find out.

And yes, for a couple months now (essentially since I started), I've been compiling a report of changes the players would like to see. Some, I've been able to get implemented myself, but those that related to programming, I have to forward along to the dev team. :) Ideally, I'd like to get their thoughts on some of the changes they've made, but I don't know how available they'll be right now. I'll try my best!
Ok thanks Alyra :)

I appreciate your hard work. Are tbere any plans for a more open communication between the players here and the devs? Or at least, be able to have one of them sign on the boards here and answer some questions every now and then?

Thank you. :) Well, the North American team would really like to be able to spend more time chatting with the players. We've been throwing around ideas such as dev blogs, more mIRC chats (but hopefully a little faster than the last one), and in-game meetings. We don't have anything set in stone yet, but it is our intent to plan more meetings with the players. I'll certainly post about them when we do nail down dates and exact details.

uh, yeah?!?!?!? :)
I know I would certainly like more IRC chats, with a little more content. I'd also like for myself to not be so rude afterwards, so if you try, I will try :)
In game meetings / thrashings maybe in the arena area or some large town would be fun. I remember in Lin1 when one of the peeps would log in and spawn a mop or two for fun while talking. I think it was a arena type place if my memory servers.

It was funny to see a statly squire type boyo kind of translucent come in and say hi.

And what does that help when Korea is the one making content and showing their changes down our throats? Unless NA has a hidden dev team somewhere, I dont see you guys making independent content(even the pigs are a copy of an old event, with a new story).

It would be my hope that we would at least have an explanation and some reasoning behind their decisions. Especially if these changes are made in light of future changes.
Wasnt the last IRC(mirc is a client, doh) with just our staff? No devs involved then, so really, no explanations or reasonings to be had there. And after reading the chat logs, it was kinda the standard NC crap we've been fed for several years.
guess ur prayers have been anwsered. they are cutting resistances like stun/sleep in half but in return are increasing chances of landing that debuff against the enemy, so ex. sleep resist was 60% now its 30% and 30% increase to chance of landing sleep.

Yeah, that wasn't really good was it.

Where do you see this?

And does it affect para/surrender/silence/gloom/cancel/etc?
l2blah, as far as i know most debuffs are included

finally someone that understands..... in simple translation .. NA L2 have no control of contents.. is all up to NC soft Korea to do all the adding and planning..we are third party players.. we get the handmedowns.. yah want to change things go lineage.kr .. this is just wat i believe .. i might be wrong .. if so.. someone please shut me up..
Why not have a thread that we can list questions for the devs? That way we can have a recorded question and a recorded answer. This gives the devs time to weed out the dumb questions and get straight to the ones that should be answered. Doing a live IRC chat session without having preplanned questions seems like a nightmare to me.

Maybe we could even vote on which questions WE want to have answered.
In-game meetings would be fun.

Then we could take it in turns to grab you GMs by the hand and lead you to some interesting places where you can meet interesting people. Unfortunately these people aren't so chatty so you'll have to make do with us for conversation. ;)

I think the problem with that is that you wouldn't get any answers and just arrive at the same results as the last dev chat.

QFT! And ingame meetings, if they'd make themselves non-invulnerable, I'd pk them!

At least you could then ask follow up questions.

The dev chat seemed to be totally moderated to a point of weeding out every question that they had not planned to answer. Meh... oh well.
