EDIT: About the BOT pig hunters... if you're suggesting get rid of trial accounts period..... won't turn out very well since i often like trying the game out before spending 15$ a month on it..... i'm sure some people would agree.
Well, actually trial accounts are nice in a way, for example. I've been trying to get a 14-day account to my friend so he can see how the game is like before he decides to join me in playing or not. Same for his girlfriend (except for the fact I can't find any 14-day trials :( ).
So yeah, the trial accounts help with botting, but it's also good for TRUE people (not our automated mates) to see what the game is like before paying for it. Like, I would have loved to have had a trial account on City of Heroes before I paid 40 dollars for it and found out it sucked (I hated it, nothing personal to those who like it).
This is an ingame mechanic problem that the game marketers probably would not even be able to comprehend.
As for the game devs adding events that are easily abused by lvl 1 14 day trial accts... that is another issue altogether. Not exactly a new one tho, since most L2 players have whither much of the #### storm.

hold on just a second here.... can bots trade? if they can't problem solved (when it comes to bots transferring booty and apiga) unless some guy wants to be ******ed enough to win an uber rare hat on a crappy trial account with the name "1VCx45TUS".

My big question is - are these functions controlled clientside or server side. If it is done client side then it is about as effective as controlling the length of shout chats.
My idea of a trail account:
Equal to full accounts but without having access to extra's aka events.
Some trail software out there are full feature software that need activation BEFORE you are able to use ALL functions.
Why not here?
The trail account is to look around and experience Lineage2 for a certain period of time.
Making it so that only "real" members have access to all events would make it an incentive to sign up if a person want to be able to get that too.
No, they can't. Another thing I forgot to add. Sorry, it was really late last night when I posted. And as mentioned, yes people are now having a full account pickup the drops while having a bunch of LEs following them attacking with bows for them.
I discovered this late last night on Franz, EV. Some guy was attacking with his fist while being followed by bot1, bot2, bot3, bot4, bot5 who were hitting with Redemption Bow. I reported. 10 minutes later all the LEs go poof except for the leader (full account). He runs over to Event Manager and stands there for 40 minutes.
Poof.
Bot6, Bot 7, Bot8, Bot9, and Bot10 show up and he begins again. I report again. This time nothing happens. He goes on for hours picking up drops while his bots attack the mob he hits with his fists. Too fast for me to kill steal and too fast for me to heal (as I found out). He even has the gall to laugh at me and say "owned" when I am unable to keep the pigs healed. He even tries to play the talking out of multiple 3rd party prog clients like, yea, they are all real players, LOL. Come the F on.

i don't blame you. the bots are completely ruining the game.....surely NCsoft can come up with something.... although it's kind of hard to imagine what.

Guess you have not seen ALL BOTS hitting pigs and 1 person picking up the drops huh? Remember the bows total in 3 hours so the 1 person picking up lost his time and now needs more so this is what they do.

If NC could prevent 3rd party software from connecting to the servers at all this would resolve alot of the issues live players face. Trial accounts could essentially be left as they are.
I see the automation as being the main problem. Without the ability to automate a characters action a live person would be required. We would no doubt still have farmers but this would increase the costs of those that make farming their business as they would have to hire more staff to man those accounts. As it currently stands just an overseer is required. I don't know if this added cost, which would have to be passed onto the purchaser, would be enough to make it not worth paying for their services or not. And therefore eliminate or greatly reduce their presence.
At the very least it would free up hunting area's and make it so that each character had to put the time into leveling a character.

There's nothing wrong with Nostromo. You can not control 6 to 9 L2 clients with Nostromo.
That's a lot of work and a lot of button pushing. You're going to get tired and will likely have to rest at least every 1-2 hours. And nostromo is not going to walk all 6 of your toons to the apiga and pick them up all at the same time.
Haha, I was drawn to playing L2 for the short 7 days on the aspect of getting in free pk from lvl 1 elf bots. Too bad the darn things afk in peace zones.

dont worry, it should be easy enough to set up 3 clients though, and hey seeing the bows only last 3 hours, people might as well just do 3 at a time then prehaps u would think? considering thats 7x3 different groups they could do per 24 hour period
Never was saying they really COULD do like 10 clients on it unless they had 3 computers then sure as long as they do.

Setup a camera and show me 60 minutes of you using Nostromo to control 6 or more L2 clients. A tight shot of the desktop and the monitor will do.
