Ok, since theres so many things that require you to have under 63/80 inv (more for dwarves/people who fish), it's nice to keep inventory low.....
My problem is that I have 25 quest items alone, plus slots for armor/weapons (12 inc weapon and one accessory) makes 37 slots taken leaving only 26 slots for other things like a spare weapon, scrolls, pots and so on...
For example on my overlord I need [censored],ABSPS,SSS,SBSPS (4 on shots), dagger for PvE (mace for crowd control but inc in armor list above), making 5, CHSOE, reg SOE, BSOE, MP pot, CP Pot, GHP, soul ore, shield, that's 13 extra things now and I'm still on essential gear.... oh, don't forget adena, aincient adena and the handy Brez... that's 16 leaving a megre 10 spots left for drops/anything non-essential like dimension fragments, regular SOE's, spirit ore, bow and arrows (pvp), event items and so on.
My quest items are also things I don't want to lose, for example Varka badges and manes... hundreds of IT quest parts, Paegans mark and quest items, MoS quest items, noblesse passes, anherras and baium items and so on.
Does anyone else get this or is it just me? not sure if they're changing it next update either, I hope they are though.
What helps a little is to spend adena or time for Proof of Catching Fish to expand Inventory and Warehouse. In the end you could expand your inventory to 100 slots.
And as i can see your already S Grade so it will not cost to much time to catch enough fish for expands.
I expanded my inventory space to slightly over 100 and I still have problems (just go to e.g. IT with a spoiler in party and you will regularly have to delete worthless drops you got or your inventory will be full right when the full drop arrives). Quest items should NOT be counted against inventory slots, there are just too many quests which you need to have running.
And OMG make the warehouse bigger! Even the warehouses on my alts are filling up with all the mats, recipes, buff scrolls with cleverly changed names so that they don't stack, enchants and all that.
My main is full since I have a main class and 3 subs... one of them needing close the the same gear as my main luckily.
I also have 3 altclans full of stuff like C/B/A/S mats, base mats, quest items like TOI and GC, Recepies (1 wh jus for those) and so on.
The main reason I haven't expanded my WH or inventory is because of my subclasses... meaning I would havee to spend a ton of adena to make them all even.

Ditto!
I'm fishing like hell and WH full, Inventory more than 80% all the time. I need to use a pet everytime I do a quest.
The particularily ******ed quests are : Ingredients from Ivory Tower guy (Reagents boxes, pouches, ingredients themselves), TOI papyrus... that's 13 items for the blueprints, 2x6 items for other stuff and dunnon how many for genealogy crap + the musical scores, books of jokes and chain letters useless stuff.
I have to freight them all to another character everytime I open them. I have 46 blueprints and still not completed a serial btw.
And for Einhasad's sake, why do you need to have 20% of your inventory free when going out of Rift?!
That's really stupid. :(
Or maybe - just maybe - it wouldn't be too difficult to code something along the lines of...
if(slotsTaken-itemsRemoved+itemsGiven <= maxSlots)
Let me proceed with the quest;
Yes, it would require them to go through the quests and at every quest stop leave information about how many items get taken and removed (or extract that information from what is already there), but hell would it make life easier. =.=
Still, seperating quest/reg would be great... and should make quest so big you really can hold all the quest items you want (and include tradable quest items).

Well they were smart enough that if your manor system exceeds the warehouse maximum it places it in there, u just remove items then it appears, so im sure they could with inventory!
I totally agree on this. Especially at the higher levels, when you have so many important quests to do, and they all have to stay active, and they increased the number of quests you are allowed to have.... there is truly no reason why quest items should be counted in the "magic" number of 80% of inventory.
I have no idea behind the concept regarding only being allowed to have 80% items in your inventory in order to perform certain tasks that have nothing to do with inventory, how it is reasonable or its purpose for that matter, besides totally frustrating the player.
I personally don't understand what my inventory item count has to do with turning in items or signing up to fight for a 7 Signs cabal, etc. etc. Also, getting reagent pouches, I can't even open them if I have 71 items in my inventory. How weird is that??
If someone could please enlighten me, it sure would make it a little easier to bear, I suppose.

It's an incredible sloppy solution to avoid the piece of coding it would take to actually check how much is actually added/removed from the inventory at every step of the quest. So now all things that are related to anything with your inventory (like potentially removing your certificate of approval hehe) use it, because it's much, much easier than checking.
Yes please make the quest items and inventory in two diferent places.
Has anyone tried to go from a WS or BH with fully expanded WH and inventory to another class that starts out with less slots than a dwarf has even without any expands?...it's a NIGHTMARE

Since I'm feeling generous, I offer you FREE English Reading and Comprehension lessons as you've clearly missed the entire point of the openning post.
Oh, it doesn't make sense, that's the wonderful thing.
Every time an NPC could potentially be changing your inventory count and is not a shop (even if he is not changing it at all, such as with most quest progression or just removing some items), the cap kicks in, such as when you enter the rift (because the commanders within require a shift in items, so the whole system is tied to this, just as the possibility of a disappearing certificate of dawn marks joining 7S a quest action).
It's stupid. Really. But if you have five minutes left to go and need to address a major bug (quests getting messed up due to over 100% inventory items), it seems like a pretty good idea... I guess. o.O
Entering the rift will require movement of items in your inventory (dimensional diamonds) and is therefore one of the limited actions.
<3 Feel the love of sloppy design!
I wonder, is it due to the sloppy design, or a lack of foresight?
Due to poor coding, the Rift thing is a quest. There's nothing to earn in that quest but yet they perform the 80% check, contrarily to other quests where you don't earn anything. Giving seal stones during the event period don't require 20% free inventory, it's only required during validation because you get AA in return.
The gatekeeper in catacombs accept to send you in the Rift only if you have Dimension Fragments, meaning you won't need more place for quest items.
And finally, exiting the Rift shouldn't require 20% free inventory, it's a hunting area! You finsih your hunting session with various materials that will break the 80% rule, especially when you're with a BH. I mean... no SOE, forced to use the NPC and toss things to go back to Aden & Elmore? That's totally stupid.
Try topping all you guys said with pet collar, beast SS, brez for pets, food and 2 equipment items for pet....
I expanded my inventory 3 times through fishing (you get a lousy 6 extra slots for each enlargement) just cause im a spoiler.... ill say it again ...SPOILERS GET A LOT OF ITEMS!
Made 3 chars just to mule stuff...(this ton enchant event did not bode well either...)
IMHO this implementation just virtually shrinks your inventory.... does nothing more...
