A Call to Arms Problem - August 21, 2007

I am posting this as a new topic because the sticky one on A Call to Arms also includes the Zaken event.

I sent the following as a support ticket just now, which will explain my problem :)

hi, i'm having a big problem with the Call to Arms event and so are others that I know :( I didn't know it was going to happen today, there was no in-game notice or anything and i didn't see anything on the forum about it so I did not change my lvl 58 sub back to my lvl 75 prophet so the three "Orders" that were placed in our warehouses went to another lvl 61 character :((( who does not need them at all, my lvl 75 main is the one who needs them badly :(

A simple fix, which would benefit everyone who has found themselves with this problem, would be if you could allow us to freight those "Orders" to any character on that account :) That wouldn't hurt a thing.

It would also be nice for people who didn't have this sub problem because sometimes we have a different character that needs the equipment more than the higest level character.

If you can't allow us to freight these items within our one account, then maybe you could allow me to switch the orders to my lvl 75 somehow? I am hoping :)

And may I suggest that if this event is done again, a nice little blue notice in game when ppl login a week ahead would be very helpful so we can be sure to be on the main or sub whichever needs the equipment :)

It probably was on the updater but if so I thought it was from the old event.

Are you planning to do this Call to Arms again?

I kinda expect that support won't be helping me in this so I am posting it wondered if others had this problem or what you think of the idea of being able to freight the "Orders" to other characters on one account? Maybe if there is enough interest Alyra can motivate the dev team to fix it so we can frieght them before the end of the event when they will be deleted if we don't open them :)

you have a good point there; i don't have that main/sub problem yet but i agree next time there should be a notice about it at least one week ahead. Then we all know that we have to be switch to main class before maintance (now the warning about that in the event description is basicly a bad joke) ....

These things should be freightable to other toons. Problem is they don't seem to have their coding straight. Last time they made an item freightable, it became tradeable. This last event I think they tried to make the booty non-tradeable/non-sell and it instead becomes non-freightable.

If you have it on your sub just switch back to main class and trade then the orders in.

"Existing players will benefit too! The highest-level character, that is level 10 or above, on all existing accounts will receive 1 Supply Order (consumable item exchange coupons). (Keep in mind that the "highest-level" condition will take into account your sub-class as well, if you are set to sub-class status. The character you currently have set as your highest character will get the items.)"

No, because I was on my sub when it happend it went to another character that is a little higher than my sub. I dont know, I watch the site and I didnt see it until after it happened so if it was there it hasnt been for very long I dont think :confused: What is there now on the home page doesnt show a date and we had this event not long ago so even if I did see it, I dont think I would have realized it was another new Call to Arms event :/

Yes, but that was 3 weeks ago, with no mention of WHEN it would happen. You can't expect a person with a subclass to simply sit there and not play their sub for 3 weeks hoping the call to arms will come :(

I really didn't think about this point before, but its a very good point, in the future NCSoft really needs to give advanced warning of when its going to happen so people can prepare. I am sure this was just an oversight on NCSofts part.

Well the info of this new call to arms event was on since last weekend i beleave.
I can see the problems with the event items but in this case its more an issue with reading and you.
You simply cant blame someone else about somthing you did wrong because u did not read all infos.

Well i didnt got that newsletter and have a similar problem.
And i have a "yes" hike at the Recieve Newsletter option on my NC Account.

Though where was my information ? Not on the Website wich should be up to date anyways. :mad:

ok you are NOT understanding so i will try to be brief but more clear.

I know all about the event you dont have to send me links, the problem was that there wasn't any advance notice about the call to arms event so

a) I WAS ON MY LVL 59 SUB, I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT EVENT SO DIDNT SWITCH TO LVL 75 MAIN thus the event items WENT TO ANOTHER CHARACTER< MY LVL 61 NECRO!

b) NECRO DOES NOT HAVE ANY USE FOR EVENT ITEMS

c) PROPHET NEEDS EVENT ITEMS

d) I HAVE NO WAY OF TRANSFERING THE EVENT ITEMS TO PROPHET as the items are not tradable or freightable

I asked to have this fixed on my account, a gm switch the items from RensAngel my necro, to SoulMagic my 75 prophet who might be on 59 hawkeye sub.

Please try to read what i wrote originally again too, it explains this.

The BEST ANSWER WOULD BE TO MAKE THESE CALL TO ARMS "ORDERS" freightable, that would solve the problem for everyone. Not everyone goes through the torture of submitting a support ticket and trying to rephrase a million ways until you get it :(

anyway, I hope this can be resolved quickly. once the event is over its too late :(

I have pretty much given up on this, no biggie lol it's just so frustrating... I think they send gibberish to avoid having to address the problem thus it will just be more of the same

This page (http://www.lineage2.com/archive/2007/08/call_to_arms_re.html) was up at least since August 7th (and linked from the "events" page). Because on that day, somebody posted the link on our ally forum.

That doesn't quite make sense, because the events page doesn't have a "future events" section and it wasn't a current event back on august the 7th.

Even if it was added there by mistake, you should hardly expect people to know to check for *future* events on a page that didn't display future events before.

Next time it would be a good idea with advanced warning for people in announcement, especially since it gives people time to warn old players to come back.

I dont understand. I thought these orders were for shadow weapons/armor which have a limited life span, something like a few hours.

If the equipment only lasts a few hours how can this possibly be an important enough issue to bother a GM with?

In addition I have heard that a 76+ character will only get an A grade shadow weapon. If this is true, these orders sound like a waste of WH space.

This is what I thought. Then to the OP, if I was a GM getting such a waste-of-time petition, I would probably give you a 3 day ban for abusing the petition system.

yes I know the time is limited but in my case I have a use for them during times when I need to use something other than robes on the prophet and when we had the last event my hawkeye sub got a shadow dagger as backup to the bow and it still has time on it. Since the HE is almost A grade, I want to do that again. So anyway, I dont expect it will get fixed this time but my point that these items should be freightable is still something that should be fixed. :p

Yes and that said the 1st time of this event i got shadow weapon and armor for my lvl 70 BH ( was 69 then ) and got low a grade armor and weapons. The armor dont even had the set bonus so its kinda worthless.
The wepons well was a nice way to try out one.

So now we get armor weapon and supply orders. I traded in supply orders and got 300 SSA and i think 8 life elexirs.
Thats ok thought. I didnt trade in the other two orders because i dont even used the first shadow equip at all.

The only thing i see that stuff is good for is for Chaotic characters either to work of karma or go PK without any risk to loose equip.

It would be nice to trade the orders between freight so u might have some use of em maybe.
Its totally ok to give to disabled accounts for try out.
Anyway just in case that player comes back but threw out all his equip before he did went inactive he only can play 10 hours after he has to get new equip.
I dont see how such players will make it back alone. The others players might have equip still and would have no real use of the orders too.
