so..i have been soloing my sws alot lately because i cant find a friggin party...ive sat in the party matching menue for HOURS with no hits....does any one else use the dang thing!! :confused:
The LFP window is used by private shops to spread advertizements.
Nobody use it, I don't know why. I use the Rift as a place to find parties when clannies aren't there. Sometimes we don't even do a Rift and go xp elsewhere.
Maybe people are afraid to get a bad party using the LFP window, maybe they don't know it. But more probably, the fact that nobody uses it is a vicious circle.
Is it possible to see the clan/ally of the people waiting, I don't remember?
I think if it had been introduced back in C1, when pick-up groups were common, it would still be used today. But by the time they introduced it, most people were xping within their clan/alliance. Also, the higher level you get, the less interested most people are in partying with random people they don't know. I think most of us have had our fair share of partying with idiots who don't have a clue how to play their class. It was fine when we were all newbs, but 55+ it's just annoying.

I've left it open while solo on my higher level chars and once in awhile people will respond.
I have to say that when I've done so, it isn't a whole lot of people who respond or pm. And of those who do, an even smaller number who join up are even smaller. Either because I'm just doing a no shot slow grind or because my char is a dwarf or I'm in a field and not a cata/dungeon. Or just because our levels don't match, as I've seen a few others have their own LFP up, but their far higher than my char.
At the moment I'm working on some lowbie alts, so with my gear even a duo is overkill unless I move to a cata or drop shots. And often for #1 I find that I didn't bother to register and for #2 no one else seems to want to grind without shots.
I'll still be trying to use it at times if nothing else to just be the only one doing it...everyone else may have Festivals, Hero and Noblesse, but "Looking for Party" is all mine baby! (At least on my server. =P
It's definitely a vicious cycle in this case. When it was originally introduced it wasn't as good as it is now too. But there's definitely still people out there randomly partying, but they usually use shout in major cities. The shout channel is already over-used with trade shouts that should be in the trade channel... another vicious cycle of useful channel seeing disuse. But at least some still are trying to use the Trade channel.
I really wish people would use this system anyway, but I understand many of the reasons to not use it. In any case I would never use it on my main, in a warred clan. In fact I almost never would go into a party on request through pm from any neutral friends... but that's because theres safety in being with people that have the same wars.
Yesterday I mentioned in a Party that I don't know why the people don't use the LFP Window, they responded "What is it?".
I suggest to NCsoft to make guides and tutorials of all the features that the game has, like Turbine does with LOTRO.
I know that there is a "Player Questions Forum" but the website must be updated with the last "game updates".
A noob can't know what is the "Weapon Augmentation" simple because the only article that mention it in the site are the patch notes of interlude.
Alyra if you are there, please we need an updated site!
I would imagine it has more to do with this being an older game. People have their twink gear, their out of party buffer, and they know where to go and what to do to level quickly. If they added a person to the party it would most likely be seen as dead weight.
But that doesn't help out new players?
No, no it doesn't. They can give away as many free 7-day trials as they want but there is no one in the starter towns, Gludin, or Gludio. That boat has left. I wish their were people using the LFP system but that's only an issue for new people and those in small clans.
If they want to use it, the button is right there on the chat panel.
