i assume that there are not many blind ppl that play L2, but if they did surely a TPP that allowed interaction to L2s chat portion of the program to translate to brail would be acceptable
but how far could we take that? color blindness could also be considered a disability and once again a TTP that can change some colors in game to more recognizable colors offers no unfair advantage
I just wish they would increase the macro capability. Right now it breaks if you type, if you click on something, or if you sneeze. Also the "CREATE" button for crafts should be able to be dragged to the quick bar. Clicking on making 1000 CBP, making steel, then mithril ore was painful. Really painful. I didn't bother playing the game for 3 days after that.
Now automating the game for someone blind is ridiculous. If the person can't see then that person has no chance of getting out of the newbie starter zone.

Surely that would be better fixed by allowing you to input the quantity that you wished to craft and then clicking 'Create' just the once.

I can't use Ventrilo Overlay. I would imagine that was the last good thing in other MMO's that NCSoft hadn't corrupted/failed to implement/broken, so they broke it.
So yeah, I would like to see Ventrilo Overlay work.

i really have no idea what they ban for, but basically i think that acceptable third party use would be something like:
- changing the color of "the spoil condition has been activated" from yellow to red (note that most people that are colorblind are red/green or brown/green colorblind, it would be pretty rare for someone to be grey/yellow colorblind, so the "oh i HAVE to use [censored] because in handicapped" doesnt really hold water for me, yellow is probably the best color in this case.)
- using zoom hax0rs to take a screen shot or fraps of an of an area in a non-pvp situation for L2-medium artwork. assuming that the screenshot or video is only intended for private use (not part of the public domain).
not acceptable would be:
- adding a new bright red line that says "spoil condition has failed" when spoil doesnt work.
- using zoom hax0rs to target people in PvP that cannot normally target you.
I don't know the first thing about computers--but in general my answer to this question would be:
"if it allows you to alter game play or the screen or information pertaining to the game--then it should never be allowed"
Leaving Blind folks (or others with special needs) aside for the moment, the game platform should not be able to be altered.
Once you begin to say "THIS much is okay to alter...", then everything else just becomes a shade of grey and at the whim of popular vote or preference.

i dont think handicapped individuals should be held to any different standard than non-handicapped. a GM should not have to do a physical examination of the player to find out if they should or should not be allowed to use third party software. GM =/= doctor. personally i no problems if someone wants to remove the chat filter because cencorship of ANY type annoys them, nor people changing colors of this or that, regardless of their state of health. but where i draw my own personal line is not neccessarily where NC draws the line. rule of thumb: if you dont personally feel comfortable doing it, its probably bad. L2 =/= rocket science.
this way we can get a precise drop table and mob list. (it's being done, but should be made legal for the community to support their efforts, and the market place).
a in game: vent, and music player should be added to the friend list icon that also works for msn....if you can use msn while in game why not vent/ ts/ or WMP/QT etc.
i think NCKorea has an official drop table, but it doesnt have drop rates. would be nice if we had somethig like that but i doubt it would be kept up to date, heck the official weapon list is still dated for what, C4?

Text message colors should be customizable!!! THat would be nice and usefull and not give any advantage as anyone could set them and even have some presets for better visualization of "actions"

If your not at the keyboard, yes, yes you can get banned for doing anything automated.
If your at the keyboard, then no, you can use a G15 or Nostrom or tape (heh, one of our guild members use to use a thumb tack to hold down the key..) without a issue.
I know WoW has them. Not where I got the idea (I have played several games where you can do a GUI mod, and like I said: so long as you aren't affecting gameplay...
Just found out that GG doesn't even allow Steam to run in the background. Nice. It would have been nice to let my friends know what I was playing but I guess that's too much to ask for.
The situation calls for a scalpel, but we get a sledgehammer. Granted, the sledgehammer doesn't technically work but it's still swinging away on my PC killing benevolent programs left and right.
Gameguard blocks most all my games but some old 1995 games lol. <-- and older. If GG blocks my new game im getting im going to report it as a Virus to Norton and Macfee and see if there is a way to block it from blocking my own pc. Has to be a way to freez it from doing harmfull things to my own pc.
I thought automated game play wasent allowed period. Whether you're at the pc or step away...but where does that differ. Can I put a rock on my F1 key to recharge a dorf while I sleep? Can I do the same thing while I sit at the pc and watch it? Either way it's not me doing it, what's the big deal with being afk or not.
Well that GG thing ****** me off. I have to start war3 before I start l2 client otherwise i get error while booting from cd..
And that's what I found out I have to do with Steam. I can load it after I load L2, but the point was to start Steam and let it detect L2 so people knew I was playing Lineage.
It's annoying. It solves nothing. It's just a **** shame.
Also many CD detection programs fail when L2 is running (like Heroes 5), so in order to play, you have to start up the game, start up L2, minimize L2 and pray you don't have to restart anything.
You know what's funny? GameGuard even itself up if you have another game that also uses the GG service for its protection on the same computer.
Hero Online also uses GG, and if I play L2 and then try to play Hero, I then have to run the installer for Hero again in order to fix what GG does to the other instance of its installation... even though Hero and L2 are actually installed on 2 different drives.
The reverse is also true. If I play Hero, and then try to play L2, I have to delete L2's GG folder and re-install in order to play L2.
Stupid, stupid program.
So, when does the license for GG end? Could we maybe switch to AnhLab's Hackshield or something? There's a tonne of programs out there that do what GG does... but they, you know, actually *work* and don't make a dog's job of your PC while they're at it.

l2 can take as much as 600 Mb of ram which can cause a problem for anyone actually trying to load more data. even in a 2gb ram system you can't load too much processing data (remember all those L2 600 Mb are being processed as well as stored) before your CPU (nevermind GPU) faults.
for a star wars game with its high-speed lightshows i would expect they also run around the 500-600MB mark. it would be nice to leave the sellshop going and play some other game, yes. but in L2 its not likely.
I can run 2 games at the same time no problem. My system can handle it easily. The problem is Game Guard says "I AM EVIL GAME GUARD, I KILL KITTENS!!! NO OTHER THINGS CAN RUN NOW MUAHAHAHA!!!!' I am pretty sure my other games are not the keyloggers GG was designed to prevent.
Well why not play other games? I was able to play Tomb Raider while waiting for siege, we meet 2 hours prior and there is nothing to do while waiting inside castle. My BF plays CounterStrike while sitting at boring siege or waiting for MP to regen.

i can run 3 starwars games at once with each game wanting 512mb to 1 gig each.
Can run 5 ultima online accounts at once.
Can run 3 Lineage 2 accounts at once, oh wait you said 600m for each.
Im leaning towards GameGuard is stopping the game from running a check for a legal copy. the games stop loading when it uses the net to run a copy right check. This only happens with lineage2 running :(.
Now if i run the other vidoe game first i can get both of them to work but lol. if i hit Alt-enter to goto the L2 game it will critical out with a vidoe reindering msg. I'm assuming i ge tthis because the starwars game takes controll of the monitor resolution and l2 settings are not configured to accept it. I'm going to try and run both game sin the same Resolution and see if switching between will work<crosses fingers>
now tell me how many people run around with 4gb ram laptops ? or play at home with P3 4gb pcs? or amd2700 ?
not everyone HAS a great machine. if you do, great. you can do a lot of the things that everyone else cant.

besides my ideal worked i got both of them to work. Start the starwars game first and make sure the resolution is the same as L2 when swithcing back and forth. only a wired title to the game in the box . No longer says lineage2 at the top all the words are Square looking O's. but the game works :)

Wrong. When minimized L2 takes up around 30+ Mb or so, while heck maximized and idle it doesn't take up that much either.
Works just fine to run two games, I can run Bioshock and L2 fine (even more than 1 copy of L2) together at the same time.
And besides, if they were a cheater they'd just use the out of game client, which doesn't have GG and they'd be just fine.
You're still wrong, I can run 6 clients on my machine with no problem with 2 Gb. I am upgrading to 8 Gb very soon, where I should be able to run any number of crap at the same time if it wasn't for GG.

No one runs the out of game client anymore lordchaos get with the times, why do you think ncsoft is having a hard time detecting the bots, their techniques only detected out of game clients before. Everyone switched to ingame to not get banned pretty much from what i heard

IMHO any peace of software should be allowed to run as you can't really keep anyone from cheating with "Big Brother" software on the clients computer.
If Big Brother software and cheaters software are compaired in which is the bigger evil I would point to Big Brother software any day. I would do so for 1 reason only. The big Brother software is never totally aware of what is deemed cheater software or an legitimate application 24/7. It is therefor a dragonic measure which will do more "damage" then good.
I btw like to be able to play more then 1 game if I have L2 in shop-mode. Nothing is more counterproductive then to have a computer running for just a shop and not being able to surf/check stats of hardware/play other games/chat etc etc etc.
I have enough RAM to run 8 L2 clients if need be.
According to some research done gamers tend to have more high-end gear making it possible for those gamers to have more then 1 MMORPG running.
