Heavy is where it's at

Orc Classes Started Last reply 16 posts
I have to say to be an Orc is to wear heavy armor, no other way to look at it. Your big, strong, stand over 6 feet tall, cladded in steel and leather.... :) But the path of tyrant with his light armor is an oddity in it's self. I have my tyrant at lvl 40 and i'm bringing up my raider also....

From a lore stand point i have issues with it. You want a tyrant thats as fast if not faster then a light elf, but the destroyer is slow and as strong as a bull.

Don't get me wrong i love my tyrant and raider but he isn't getting the love it needs. He's not fast enough, he's not agile enough. I don't see how a person can have a destroyer thats as slow as a turtle and a tyrant thats as fast as a rabbit.
If you'd like to see how to handle a raider / destroyer, Splatter, come watch me in Pavel some night.

10-mob trains + Orcish Poleaxe + corner = Happy destroyer. Potions maybe every third pull, guts in case of emergencies along with elixir.

Or watch me frenzy and two-shot a 4x pink phys resist mob... It happens.

The point of the tyrant is a LOT of hits for adequate damage. The point of the destroyer is one or two really BIG hits for damage that would make archers jealous.
I've only played an orc to destroyer at lvl 40 but I have to agree--it's a good thing this wasn't my first toon! I would never have been able to level squishies and whimp hitters after seeing what Mr. Orc hits for....

Fun class even at low levels--imo the fastest leveler in the game at low levels (solo). I know others see it differently.

What was most fun for me was not having top weapons and still being okay because of the strength, resilience, and hitpoints.
Since my first toon was a human knight--this was a pleasant revelation (not being able to 'get in trouble' no matter what I pulled).

I can see why the heavy orcs are addicting but I'll probably stick with tank-boy as my main.
~D~
My titan is a beast, hes easy to lvl in the catacombs, almost never dies because of frenzy and guts..pole parties kick [censored].
and don't ever go toe to toe with a Titan, because you'll get smoked, unless your a GOOD grand khavatari...if your good at that class you can kill me, otherwise only ranged can kill me.
And come CT1 Frenzy will suck and poling will suck. Great class we have here then!
pah, we'll find away to get round the changes. Yes, things are changing, rather than whining like a cissy light elf, we'll take it on the chin like the orcs we are ~_^

I like my Monk-tyrant.
I also like the fact I have my 2 box WC for buffs.
Orcs have some of the best classes in L2 imo. At the lower end (pre 50) we tend not to be as good as our nearest equivlent. 50's we start to get better, and by 60's the gears of Orc Greatness are kicking in. Can't say much about 70+ but I've never seen anyone bad mouth a 7x Orc for what it can do.
You obviously dont know the difference between Tyrant and Destroyer then. And Tyrants have nothing to fear, they actually get more good stuff at the endgame.

Really, tell me how you will find a way round a FORCED "stay under 30% or lose 250% pattk boost from the skill" nerf? Tell me how you will find a way around a total revamp of VR that will make it pretty much impossible to pole without great support?

CT1 kills poling almost totally and it DOES kill the STR and Speedbuilds for Destroyers, if they want to use Frenzy in PVP at all.
oh so you mean in PVE you may actually have to have a party for pole's.... the shock and horror...

And as I recall... for things like Zealot and Bison, we have to be under 30% as well. (Especially Zeaolt, which as far as I've been told fades when you go 30% +)

So its a crap nerf, I just get fed up of the [censored] and whining when something gets changed.
I can understand it, but the amount that some people [censored] on these boards, its just tiring.

PVP... I'll freely admit I know very little of logistics... cus thats not a big thing for me at the moment. I freely admit I need more practice at PVP.

Does CP count towards that 30% limit.... I mean Destroyers have a stack of hp... maybe when below 30% spam some CP pots..... then when it ends spam up the HP. I don't know. If CP does count towards the 30% limit, then thats gonna be difficult.

I also find it amusing that whilst people are talking about armour... your first post was 'it doesn't matter, we're gonna be [censored] in CT1"

Real constructive ~_^
Zealot does not go anywhere when you go 30%+, only Frenzy does. And for Bison, it starts working at 60%, but is maximized at <30%. Bison and Frenzy are also totally different because of the cooldown timers and duration of the buffs.

That stack of HP is about 3k when you're at 30% in endgame if you're a STR/DEX build with buffs. Hardly a stack at all. And no, CP does not count in the limit... %HP is always HP, not CP.

PS. You do need a party for poling when you're actually high lvl. OOP running 4 buffers/healers count as a party, it is no longer solo play.

PPS. Heavy armor means jack [censored] when you have Rage and Frenzy on. The PDef then is close to that of robes and light users.
beef up your Con at the cost of dex and get a weapon with Health on it, skip on the vamp buff and just do your best to potion your life at about 25%?
Tossing Dex for Con ruins your crit rate, meaning those juicy frenzy crits are a thing of the past.
Tossing DEX ruins your crit rate, accuracy, runspeed and attack speed... Attack speed = skill cooldown timers. Runspeed = already slow enough to be the major downside of orcs. Accuracy = needed to hit all those archers and daggers, especially since UE lvl2 now dodges skills too. Crit rate = DPS in both PVE and PVP, a must have really.

And potting the HP you lose at poling, lmao :P I really wanna see how you imagine to manage that with 40 mobs on you at 7x. Unless you have an endless supply of QHP and can spam them faster than light, you cant pot spam the dmg.
I took my dex tat off ages ago on my main, best thing I ever did. I can still crit for 12k+ with frenzy without it.
Ye, but you didnt go -DEX now did you? ;)
Hells no, why the hell would I want to make myself move even slower?
Well that was what that one guy was suggesting ;)
