Best Archer Class?

I currently have a PR and thus so far love it! However i never tried a SR but have made a HE lvl'd till 51 and enjoyed that class. My question is what class is more dominating in PVP? or are they all equal in PVP?
until 61, all archers were created equal. after that, he with the most CP pots will win no matter how much TNT you have. so HE.
PR and HE are far more devastating opponents than an SR in pretty much every pvp situation in terms of damage output.

The real truth of it though is that archers only excel in a team. A well organized team that works well together and knows what they are doing. Each race of archer has it's own strengths and weaknesses and thus it's own style of play. Choose which style you like and go with it but unless you have a good archer team for pvp purposes it won't matter either way.
in the end game it matters. when the big pvp comes and there are buffs to be had, the SR suffers relative to the other two because it's crit advantage gets nullified by the crit. cap.

so in the end game, if all are well buffed for crit, and SR is at a disadvantage.
I currently have a HE but after seeing a hero PR's damage, I sort of wish I'd have gone PR instead. A PR hits much slower, can't carry as much stuff (probably not even half) and has lower crit rate than a HE and has much lower hp and stun resist. But a fully-buffed PR will one-shot anything that a HE would two-shot. A fully-buffed PR might even one-shot something a fully-buffed HE might need to 3-shot.

And one-shotting nullifies the pots advantage. While the HE will be happy when he does a 5k crit on a mage, the PR will be equally happy when he crits a 70+ a-grade mage for 18k damage. Sure, both cases are overkill, but if you start shooting on something less squishy, like, say, a dark avenger, the 3x damage will probably be quite sweet.

L2 PvP is a game of spiked damage and I'd much rather have the higher spike damage of a PR than the faster attack speed and slightly higher crit rate of a HE.

On the other hand, leveling a PR must be much harder, because their attack speed sucks and their carrying ability is pathetic, and that's being generous.
The fact that Phantom Rangers also get Hex is worth mentioning.
woo pr

Actually, the difference in attack speed isn't as pronounced as you might think. And the PR makes up for it with more damage per shot and they are faster to the point of attack (run speed) than an HE. Granted both my HE and PR are only in their mid-60's, but I still prefer grinding in the open field with the PR over the HE at this point.

As for carry weight, you're probably right. But unfortunately I don't grind for long hours at a time like the good old days. I usually wind up stopping after a couple of buff rounds most days, so I don't mind restocking as much as others do.

(Aside: Yes, I've gone off the deep end where archers are concerned. I just rolled an Elven Scout/SR for the Heavy Medal event ...faster kills and more advantageous hunting conditions at low levels. That said, I'm not going to level the Scout any higher than D grade. Not with the CT1 a few months off. Must...conserve...energy...for...Kamael....!)

Cool story.

Archers are a team based class. A PR isn't going to be one shotting anybody unless he's in a proper team with the right support.

A team of one race of archers isn't that common and unless it's a full team of SR's raining down on you with focused fire then you're chances of living aren't that great whether it be HE's only or PR's only.

Against people who PROPERLY buff for pvp, few classes of similar level will be one shotted when properly buffed unless under the effects of Grandeur. Doesn't happen very often anymore.

Oh and for the other guy, an SR archer party will wipe the floor with a party of horrible PR's.

Point is both classes when played well in a good group are equally as devastating. Spike damage does own, the spike damage of your combined party will be sufficient.

Hex is a sweet skill too but you need to sacrifice 400 range to use it. Your healer will let you die or cuss you out to all hell for jeapordising yourself and him/her should they follow your silly [censored] for breaking rank to use a skill which is very situational.

Something also to consider, CT1 is coming and if we're talking end game here then one single buff negates the critical damage boost that dead eye gives. I'd say spike damage is going to be probably even more important at that point but it just means your party has to work better together.

Remember, well oiled machine > rusty one.
If you're going to hex (from an archer party) it should be a mass phantom cubic doing the job, since it can fire at full archery range. Not that many PSs will join the party to give you the cubic and bugger back off again. :p
get Avadon light for your PR and you can hold a lot more ss and arrows.

:)
'xept you can get avadon light on your HE and still hold like tripple the SS and a few k arrows, and who cares about arrows since HE can make them on the go.
Quiver of holding is hax.

I wouldn't be bothering with an Avadon light set tho lol. I'd rather stay in a PL set til 61 rather than use Avadon.

I have to say im lvling pretting quick atm, im using a polearm and hitting lvls like crazy! However since my HP is pretty weak im still managing to stay alive, and yes i have a lvl 69 SE buffing and healing me :P

Better hurry up and get w/e level you want to get to usin that pole before CT1 comes out else you'll be going the rest of the way with a dagger or bow.
There is no "best archer" class, however I do believe there is a "Best archer class for you." It really depends on your style of play and how well you are at controlling the variables of one archer vs how you control the other archer classes.

...and in the end, you are concerned with the wrong principles that make an archer intensely successful at pvp anyways. It really does not matter too much which archer you choose. I would place more concern into what makes an archer powerful and that, depends solely on how good your archer team is. FS is right on point; archers require a team to be efficient, with strong teamwork and excellent communication.

Play which archer you enjoy, but focus on created a strong team, work on teamwork and pick smart support classes (Healers, BD, SWS). These are the keys to making you a great archer player.

On a side note:
Playing an archer class can be extremely ironic because most players choose their archer class because they want to dominate in PVP. However, they soon realize that they are only as good as the team they play with, and how much they depend on that team to actually be good at pvp. And it is that, in the end, which makes the class and the dynamics of the game so much more enjoyable; The fact that you need these other people to make you good at the game... That’s where a lot of friendships and pride comes from, making your team excel and do well. Learning how to work together and play well together is extremely fun and gratifying... And isn’t that more important than picking “The Best archer class?"
He - holds more cp pots, slow, dash.
Pr - Dead eye, hex

Sr - sux.

pretty long way to say archers need alot of buffpets to dominate pvp

Pretty short way to completely miss the point.
lol
I've never played an archer ... so my question might be obvious. Why does HE have faster attack speed than the PR when the PR has higher intrinsic DEX?
Passives perhaps?
DEs just seem to be slow at everything, no matter what their stats. The tradeoff for the DDs seems to be in hitting harder or debuffing. At least that's the way it seems to me.
The sad thing is.. they dont get any trade offs, never seen a more imbalanced placement of skills than the ones given to TH/PW/AW.
Well, actulayy I was talking about the trade-offs for DEs. But since you brought it up: Somebody once pointed out out to me that the skills for dagger users don't always work; I guess they are chance-based, like say maybe the Fear skill of a WC or OL. Whereas, for example, my Destroyer's skills always work, as long as they have "recharged". So, I guess that would be the trade-off for a dagger user. That, and not being a ranged attack for PvP.
I just meant trade offs for dark elf daggers compared to human/elf daggers. :)
The skillset between the different dagger races are annoyingly imbalanced.
Didnt say the daggers had imbalanced skill sets compared to the other classes in the game.

5% atk speed passive, Boost atk speed level 1. (TH gets 2 more levels of it)

TH and HE get a nice passive skill that makes them attack faster then both light elves and Dark Elves to make up for they sorry dex. a little over kill that they get 2 lvl of it when the first lvl makes them faster then both Elfs.
HE get level 1 = 5% atk speed

TH gets level 3 = 10% atk speed
reroll

Depends what kind of pvp it is... SR will win in OLY, will do well in prophet buffed skill-spam type, pvp, PR shines in sieges, HE in small and medium pvp.

1 v 1's depending on who you will be fighting, but HE is pretty overpowered in most of those.
HE is awesome in everything except Olympiad. I'd imagine most servers have HE specific in there anyway considering their FOTM status
