I've made me an Elven wizard with the goal to become an ES later.
She is level 25 atm, and I play her solo most of the time.
1. What would be the perfect hunting spots for me till 40 ? Right now I am still hunting spiders and lizards around gludio for Guard Pragas quest.
2. Equipment: What would it be for C-grade once I hit 40 ? I need someting that is pretty much affordable, since I am pretty new to the game :)
1. I'd recommend ant incubator if you have empower, or the fields near Innadril if you do not.
2. For the economy solution, get Karmian Robes and a mysterious sword with acumen. Or you could use the shadow coupons you'll get at class change to grab a decent melee weapon.
3. +4 WIT (whether you want to go -INT or -MEN isup to you, I'd say -5 MEN is fine if you're on a budget) is a priority. I personally like +DEX/-STR as well on an ES, but most prefer +CON or +STR. It all depends on how you're going to play.
PS: Hindemith has a pretty decent manor. I'd look into that if I were you. ^_^
best place to level until 35 is Execution Ground (do the Black Lion quest there). Hunt the Spectres first, later the Neer Ghouls and after this the Strains. With a good weapon (you do not need the best D Staff. The best buy able in Giran weapon shop does it well to 40 too. Make the Medal event and earn 3 EWD to upgrade it for free) you can 2 shot them without Shots.
After L35 go hunting the Ogres at Fields of Silence. Be carefull this is a dangerous spot.
Don't say Tanor Canyon please, i got completely ***** there... ><
I know that most of you will say Aligator Island, but aren't there any other good options?
Btw, i did hardins private academy for my last lvls till 40 and to me it was a way better lvling spot than Fields of Silence. Expecially Fettered Souls give around 4k exp. But i guess thats all about personal preferernce.
with 45 I hunted the Sileno Warriors west of Aden as far I remember (perhaps it was 46). If they are too strong try the Scouts and Grunts.
Not sure if 45 is ok but later I hunted at Pavel Ruins from 48 until L54, first in the first pit and later in front of the Archaic Laboratory behint the tends of the Quest giver for B recips. Just avoid the cannon golems and hunt carefully there. It is the best place so far I think.
The AOE thing I never understood completly too. I died too often so I gave up ;)
L39-40 I was at Hardin too :) I was bored from the Ogres.
Tanor Canyon is horrible for ES AoE - especially without buffs. At 45 I'd suggest the area around hunter's village, or maybe slowly considering to start around Pavel's Ruins but not so sure.
If you're poor and just want to level relaxed, I suggest buying either a soulfire dirk or a mid D weapon (two spiritshot usage), letting your pony melee and helping it with plain nukes. This works until well into the 50ies, at which point you're easily high enough to try some solo AoE.
I fianally made it tonight and finished the 2nd class transfer to becoma an Elemental Summoner :)
Now something odd happened. After hitting 40 and changing class to ES, I summoned my Boxer to view its stats out of curiousity. :)
Then I unsummoned it, to safe crystals while going into shop mode. The cooldown should not be 3 hours now that I am a real summoner or ? Just asking because I cant get the pony out now, after 1.5 hours. S'Not meant to be like that or ?
Hmm at 40+ you can take the final version(2nd class change+) tattooes....so no reason not to now.
However, for a summoner, theres really no point in wasting several million adena on +4-4 versions, when you can just use the +4-5 ones from giran npc shop for 40k each
At 45, I'd go for +4con -5str , +4wit -5 int
...maybe add a +1wit -2int to get the 5 wit total. (Or if you can find a set of +1 wit -1 int going cheap)
Alternatively you could go -men instead of -int, in order to keep a slightly higher nuke dmg, but I think keeping the men for more mdef is a better choice overall, to help your survivability.
well yes my fear was that i'm still able to nuke and thats why it might be a bad idea to take int off and go for -men instead. But i see your point with the survivability. I might as well wait a little longer with the -int tattoo until my nukes start to miss.
Well, your Solar Spark will never miss right up to lvl 80 , your Aquasplash however will start to fail after lvl 48+ish mobs.
That said, -int wont make a huge diff to summoner nukes, you might find for example your solar spark does 400 dmg to a lvl 80 mob at -5 int, and does 500 dmg at +5 int.
Also, going - men, hurts your MP regen slightly, which can be a problem when soloing difficult places...need mp to heal pet etc.....
@ level 64, 3 MEN = .25 per tick out of about a 15 mp per tick regen. I tested it by playing with my Blue Wolf light set; for the most part, MEN is a useless stat. The impact on the mdef is minimal; impact on the mp regen is minimal; impact on the max MP is minimal.
I loved Tanor Canyon once I hit 48. I did 48-52 by myself there but it did take a lot of trial and error to get used to pulling the different groups. Got 2 different Shadow Flare book drops as well :)
well i'm partying with a DA mostly in catas or in Alligator Island at the moment. And i think i'll keep on grouping with him until very high lvl. I don't really plan to solo because he is my bf and we always play together anyways.
I don't really wanna go -int right now because i'm still helping alot with my nukes while we lvl. So i was wondering what you guys would suggest for a tattoo setup in my specific case. It should be pve oriented since i don't plan to start pvping any time soon. Also keep in mind that i will most likely don't tank anything.
i'm looking forward for your suggestions!
Well, then for PvE go +4 int -5 men , +4 wit -5 men, +4 con -5 str
A bit more HP for you in case you do get aggro or hit by aoe, a little more nuke power and faster nuke time . Should suit your situation I think.
But put the +4 wit -5 men first, then check how much MP pool you lost , before you add the +int -men , you may not wish to hurt your mp pool this much, especially if you are going bw light(or go bw robes for mp bonus instead)
Well if your really nuking, then i would sugest go +4 int first, elven mages already have good base wit. And you shouldnt take to much men, dont forget if your nuking you need mana regen and mp.
