A dagger really for fast lvling or tryant. however if your thinking of meleeing the WC mainly as I do then a SE. Empower is a WC friend. + the SE can do most of your buffs sooner then you can which means you only have buff the ones the SE don't have. set up a macro and keep it updated as you both lvl.
When your SE is 52+ get a staff of evil sprits with SA bless the body for it and forget the homu the extra hp comes in handy and the SE good for rechages your acumen will make up for the cast speed.
Uhm, don't have a clue where the heck empower will help a WC level.... they aren't nukers.
SE is best though since she can buff you all offensive buffs but haste saving your mana, then use a focus dagger and soulcry with her recharging you to keep going for a good amount of time with high dps.
I would probably suggest having a real dd (like a hawkeye, gladi, TH, etc) do the damage while you just play buffer. Orc mages as the main dd to leach off are kinda subpar, but WC buffs are awesome (haste/vr/dw/focus/might).
I also think that SE is the best partner for a WC. WC should be in heavy for all the time he will be soloing. SE will do the common melee buffs and WC the rest. Empower is very usefull since you can use Steal essence for a bigger effect as well as crowd control with greater success. The good part about SE is that it can do recharges so soulcry can be kept up for long periods.

This is where we disagree.... :)
78 overlord with +0 focus bloody orchid, VR, PP buffs and BD buffs and soulcry... DC robes so not atk boost has 635.5 dps according to L2 calc.
78 Treasure hunter with Same weapon, Draconic leather armor (+4% p.atk and atk speed +1 dex) and the typical -4 str for pvp (usually -8) has 690.1 dps... only 55 more and in a semi-PvE setup not PvP like normal.
With the typical soulseperator with critical damage the TH has 675 dps, which is even less.
Oh, and put the OL in tallum heavy and hunt green mobs with low evasion... which is the logical thing to do, not hunt lvl 75 high evasion mobs in Blazing swamp... and the DPS shoots up to 783.
Know your strengths and your weaknesses and plan your groups/hunt spots around them.
Let me drain you once with empower or use one of my DOTS then tell me I'm not a nuker.
And but the WC in DC Light and that dps goes up even more + you have more defence and decent casting speed. I been in Light armor from lvl 10 and at 70+ I'm still in light armor and can do full buffs with mp left over.

Read my sig... I've been playing orc mystic for a long time, they are not nukers like they used to be. In olympiad drains are ok, but still won't win you most fights solely with that. In open pvp/pve you cannot rely soloely on drains or you will have 0 mp in no time.
I totally agree with the DC light thing though, I've been using that for a long time to lvl due to the MP regen and hate orcs in heavy. :)
As to the question about leveling the two characters before level 20, I don't see it as a big deal either way. That is, level them separately or together up until 20.
Well, come to think of it, there is one small possible advatage to pairing them. I played my DE Mystic in C4, before herbs came out, The pre-20 DE Mystic had to sit on it's tail a lot to regen mana, in the days before herbs. So, in this one small matter, the DE Mystic might level a little faster if paired with the Orc. However, why not wait and see what players say about mana regen for DE Mystics since herbs were introduced in C5.
The only major advantage I can think of if you wanna pair them early is to take advantage of the bonus exp. You get a free 40% exp for being in a duo, which means that overall you'll level quicker than leveling them separately.

Yep, you would do that. Although you would also have accumulated less money on the 2 toons that way. L2 really needs to put in a drop multiplier for groups, just like the XP multiplier.
The empower is not for nuking mobs like a nuker but for recovering HP and doing a lot of damage at the same time. you can also get lucky and get magic critt now that we can do that again.
He's find he join my clan and I help him to get going on lvling them at the same time. he's using the DE mage for 1 to 20 cause she can just nuke then the Orc mage for 20 and up
I would use a tyrant or a TH as they are awesome damage dealers and with your VR / Focus / Haste buffs they would require little healing, COL, or pots.
also whoever said put a WC in heavy should go destroyer and stick with it. WC not 4 u :(
Since I am the only one who suggested that WC should wear heavy when soloing, what is your disagreement with this view?
Please use arguments and not statements (like "WC is not 4U").
I'm not sure where Knight is coming from. Using Heavy Armor on a WC when soloing is very common. In parties, it's different, but I seriously doubt many WCs wear Heavy Armor in parties.
