Cant win for trying...

It's ironic. Here I am, thrilled to have a weekend with no bots, and just having a blast, when guess what happens? k, first a bit of backround.

I have three accounts. I have three computers, my new PC, old PC, and laptop I use when traveling on business. To play all three accounts at once, I have three track-balls lined up next to each other, the three screens pretty much side by side, and I created macros in the game so I can hit one icon and follow, or assist, or buff, etc. Works pretty well for PvE, but for PvP, forget it. That's why I'm without a clan actually, trying to get some coin to fund a pvp character, join a clan and get back in with that part of the game.

So there I am actually able to enjoy the game in an area near Aden that my level 59 Prophet, BH and WS usually can't pve in, due to bots. Along comes some player from the Legacy alliance (Sieghardt Server), and accuses me of botting. lol

He then griefs me to no end. Now understand something here please. I am ok with being griefed, pk'd, whatever. Afterall, although I've been gone for two years, I did play for 1.5 yrs previously from beta to retail, so I know the game is a pvp game. It's not that which bothers me, but being told I am botting, and that even if I am dual boxing (tri-boxing in my case), it's the same thing.

You just can't win. If the bots don't get you, the players will ;)

Thoughts? Is this worth reporting as harrassment, or is that just a waste of time. The guy is now telling hiis alliance I am "PK" and should be kos. lmao..... My dwarves are shocked

lol K, just venting a bit, and looking for any constructive feedback.

I know people who do the same thing as you. They got griefed a lot as well. There are a few things you could do.

1) join you 2 mainly played toons to a clan (neutral never really messed with). ( toons your most active with and can talk on clan chat easiest.) Leave you buffer either untagged or create a clan on her for storage.

2) Create your own clan either for a short time or maybe even for good. Creating a clan with a few active members wouldn't hurt you at all. Might get your name out there showing your a live player ect.

Finally, Most of the time when just one person names you KOS it not gonna stick. If it is a large pvp clan/ally ( sorry not on sieg so no clue who they are) then the higher levels/heroes/leaders don't care about some lower level untagged toon. Its the truth. They have 20 wars going and to remember 3 untagged toons names just isn't going to happen. I see in my clan chat all the time so and so kos... i don't kill em.. bc i just don't care enough to. Show me a tag and i will attack.

I wouldn't worry Bam. I am sure in 2 weeks the lil guy who tried to kos you will forget about it.
Id suggest fighting back, chain stun midget style.
heh... I would fight back, but this dude is one shotting mobs the three of my characters actually have to fight before they die. It's just not worth giving him the satisfaction.

I'm not worried about his alliance, or him; just find it ironic I'm a player so vocal about bots, and here I get treated like I'm one of those I petition against, and roll reds to kill. lol

What's really ******ed, is this guy believes that multi boxing is no different than botting. In other words, whether I'm manually controlling my accounts, or not, is all the same to him. Fortunately this isn't the norm mentality in the game.

-Bam
Find out who his enemies are, and tell them where he is :p

Unless he swears alot GM's won't do anything. Obviously swearing (in USA) is the worst thing you can do! OMG! That or online [censored] keke
Hi BamBam. Let's chat in game sometime. I'm on Sieghardt.
We are on the same server, and the same thing happens to some of my friends in my alliance. It's so ironic, because they take a very firm stance on botting, and 1 of their clan members once had to leave because he was caught botting. Honestly, I have always figured some people just want an excuse to grief. But, who knows, some of these people might just be that stupid, verging on ******ed, really.
KOSing to me is only for a clan. How can you be in a clan with wars and not have enough people to kill? I know i got my hands full with our wars. I sure as hell don't have time to kos some untagged person just because.
NH? Must be someone extremly bored then. It's true that NH doesn't approve of botting (SoA excluded :)) but they have too many cheaters amongst their enemies to bother with you. So I wouldn't worry too much about the KOS. That's just an empty threat.
The guy who actually spammed BamBam with those allegations is from Warhawks.

And indeed Old many 'new' names are trying thier best to get some of us neutrals to get in interclan wars, from what I've been able to spot so far. Been having the trashtalk myself and got griefed twice by a toon I'd never seen before (and I'm here since Beta).

I'd say ALT+B, look up the clan's leader and get a chatter with him. If anyone knows what that clan's stance is it will be that person.

Just so I don't misunderstand you. You do realize I wasn't, haven't, and will not cheat, correct?

It is not cheating to actively be at the keyboards of three computers and play three characters at one time.

Just want to be certain we have that clear.

Cheating is using automated programs, that can operate while one is afk. My characters would die if I went afk. Hope that eliminates any confusion.

If I purchase another game account, can I use both accounts at the same time?

Yes. If you own more than one game account, then you may use both freely at the same time. Ideally, Lineage II should be run by itself, and running two clients on the same computer can put a lot of strain on your system's resources. While this style of play is not against our rules, it is not supported and any loss generated as a result of this may not be reversible by the Lineage II Support Team.

A second option for running two accounts that has been used by players is having two different computers run separate clients side by side. Again, this style of play is not recommended—as you will have to split your attention while playing—but it is not against our rules.

As always, the use of third-party software to automate game play on any of your accounts is a violation of the User Agreement, and may result in the permanent closure of your accounts.

I play with dual-box since C2, as a Spellsinger I can't solo without a Shillien Elder :D
I have macros for recharge mana and buff.
If someone is using a bot with his buffer is so obvious, because the buffer will heal every time, it will buff again when the buff count is near 0 and it sits and stand all the time, and if it is dying it will heal itself until the dead or logout :P
If you are using dual-box you won't have problems, because the GMs knows who is boting or not (I guess).
If you can join in a clan you will enjoy more of the game and these people won't have arguments to report you.
I hope to see you in game soon!
In case it was missed from my earlier reply, some of these people go after smaller clans. So when BamBam gets back into a clan, it might or might not help.

No, I'm sorry if I gave that impression. Lots of people use boxes these days so it's quite ok by me :) NCsoft never did anything to prevent boxing from becoming common practice. I have to admit that I would prefer if it was otherwise... but NCsoft is what it is.

Edit: Bad grammar
Although that's typical that's only if they set up their bot-buffer that way. It doesn't have to be set to constantly sit/stand for instance. That's just the really dumb ones XD

I also box a SE for my sps subclass, just use a recharge macro, auto follow macro and I'm golden.
I hate these scenarios. People should learn how to critical think, instead of jumping to conclusions about other people around them.
This is happening at level 5X and above hunting grounds on Seighardt. Players at that level know what boxed buffers look like. They are just looking to stir up trouble.
I kinda think NCSoft wants us to 2-box or more.

They get their subscription money, and if you're behind the leveling curve it makes the game more playable if you have a built-in duo.

You see enough people with a buffer on autofollow that the idea of multi-boxing can't possibly be foreign to any player.

But neither can it be foreign the schtick of pretending you think someone's a bot to justify griefing them.
I won't cry for someone 3-boxing alone. Nice try.
Next time try another vision of the game : join a clan and fulfill your friendlist to raise your character without having to pay 3 accounts, then change your clan for PvP if you wish.

/!\ Warning /!\
In a peaceful PvE only clan, you might make some friends who will share fun with you, and that's just... so bad! Mom said if you party to much you can get pregnant :(
3 box imo to much and also to expensive

dual box is enuff

washtk,

Play style is a preference, period. That said, I much prefer playing one character at a time and grouping up with others, and the entire clan/alliance/pvp experience to what I am currently doing.

For me, the cost is not an issue. I'm not rich, but I pay twice as much for one dinner out with my family, than the monthly fee for three accounts.

When I created my two Dorfs, it was at the start of retail, or actually back in beta, when I believed a WS would be critical for Sieges, creating items, and a BH to support that effort. I entered this game with 150 others players from a guild I was part of at that time. I'm the only one left.

As the only one left, after just a month or so after release, I opened another account to roll a prophet, so my Dorfs could continue to raise in level resaonably. I hated Bots, third party sales, and still do, so for both the reason of my guild leaving, and my desire to "not" be dependent on the third party market, I continued to bring my Dwarves up.

In addition, I have two children, and often I need to leave the game for one thing or another. Unless I know there is a window of time I will not be interrupted, I am reluctant to join a party, because I'd hate to have to say afk every 15 minutes. I am going to take a wild guess here, and bet you don't have children, and my life is not one you can relate to very well.

So here I am, after a two year break, and find the market is even that much more insane than when I left. My effort to continue bringing my Dwarves up has a purpose. They are about to hit 60, make what I need the most out of what I find, and will be bankrolling my new pvp characters very soon.

I'm not looking for your approval on how I play the game, nor your advice on how you think I should, but thank you for what I'm sure was your well intended desire to save me and point me in the "proper" direction. :p ;)

washtak, the situation that is growing on Seighardt is not a matter of whether people should box or not. The situation is people are going out and claiming people are botting as an excuse for griefing. One night, they did it to a party of 3 friends in EV, all in my alliance, so all with clan tags. And sometimes the griefing sessions go on very long. I had one friend (who has since left the game) who says she got repeatedly griefed for 2 hours in one session.

lol K, just venting a bit, and looking for any constructive feedback.

id say, seed his mobs. its the only eccenomically feasible revenge. but, if that doesnt help, here are some Pinyin songs you can sing while you xp, everyone knows that Obviously bots do not sing. my personal favourite is the "big head" song, very appropriate for lineage 2 ^^

everyone sing along! (http://www.wku.edu/~****hen.gao/Chinese101/pinyin/lyrics.htm)

i decided earlier today that Labor Day would be a good "be nice to farmers" day, cuz you know, everyone needs a break sometime.
It took me forever to make my own buffer... playing most of C1/2/3 and 4 without one. Now I wouldnt leave home without it. Most people dont make those toons their main anymore so you do what you gotta do.
We know you're not cheating...multiple accoutns is allowed as long as you do not use a third party program ( I also have three accounts ). I say, petition if you like, but they won't ban me, because I didn't cheat. To the **** who wants to KOS you, let him go red on you, call his war tags while he's doing it. That'll teach him a thing or two, when he drops his gear for being a ******.

BamBam, I can totally relate, I have 4 kids and go afk very often. I have to explain this to people before I accept a party invite, kids require a lot of attention, and sitting for more than 15 minutes happens about as often as cows jumping over the moon...
