i'd say tyrant
they have always been the best melee single target DD when properly played and with the CT nerfs to aoe and destro they will really pull ahead
are you trying to play in the end game? if so really both orc fighter classes are pretty severe DD in end game. the Destro begins its powerful run from 32 where they learn frenzy. its nerfed in CT1 coming update, but still will be quite powerful 1v1.
the tyrant is a completely different style, and form of play. the tyrant's attacks are all over the place - short and long range AOE, short and long range blaster, attack speed toggle that costs HP, self boosting buffs that can boost all melee oriented stat from Patk to runspeed but one at a time. they last 2 minutes and cooldown in 1 min.
the clause to the tyrant is twofold - your critical rate is LOW by nature, so youll need to get the Bison totem before youre truly good at your job. this unfortunately means waiting until 68.
I got a question. It seems Tyrants do great in PvP, probably better than Destroyers at 76+. However, I think Destroyers do way better than Tyrant at PvE at ALL levels.
Am I mistaken? I only say this because I duoed with a 78 Tyrant while I was 67 Destroyer. My DPS was equal when I had Rage up and I was significantly better when I Frenzied. Did this Tyrant not use skills to max out DPS or are Destroyers really better at PvE?
This is somewhat relevant since to get to 76+ you've got to spend 99% of your time in PvE. My belief is that a Destroyer will get there way faster if they are legit.
well, tyrants damage in pve when under 68 is all about how good your killspeed is. that said, usually one picks a RSK haste weapon, switched on the Haste toggle, puts up Bear totem in a cata, and pops a ghp every other kill, begins each kill with stun and doesnt much bother with the higher MP cost blasters or cripples, or even puma totem sometimes.
it takes us both the same time to kill a mob. the difference is, i am more worried about my MP, and HP if stun doesnt land. i also spend more to kill a mob if i am solo. not everyone carries a pocket recharger, and most clans with rechargers like to hoard them for archer groups that dont need them.
tyrants dont swing and hit for much - however a zealot+bison+fistfury tyrant will kill faster than a merely frenzied destro.

The catch is, the Tyrant should be able to use his skills way more often than a Destroyer can use Frenzy. On the flip side, a Destroyer should be a God when Frenzy is available for use, with no other class even coming close.
To the OP, if you want something quick, go for Tyrant. The Destroyer playstyle is slow and hit-hard, like a Mac truck.
both Tyrants and Destroyers make good dmg wile hunting with out "low hp skills" but the destroyer is slow both in atk. speed and movemet, the tyrent got self buffs to make up for that. and as said the tyrant got a low crit becos he is useing fist weapons, but so dos an destroyer if he use a blunt, but there to said the blunt/fist may take away some of you crit rate, but it gives you better Accuracy.
For the PvP part would i go tyrant, they got good dmg, verry good atk speed and movement speed, and something you cant live with out in pvp Range atk.! ofc you could make a destroyer and get a bow for pvp, but that sucks, you got verry short range, low accuracy, and your p.atk sucks bad, even with frenzy and rage, and zealot gives you nothing when useing a bow. (well maybe moment speed, dont remember).
I do remember when i was fun being a destroyer with a bow ( one shooting at TOI 8th ) but NCSOFT put a stop to that, and i would say, it was with good reson, one destroyer could go to arena with a soul bow and own a hole party.
But as it is now, for PVP go Tyrant, and with CT1 comming well i would just go tyrant for pve aswell. tho it is an expensive class. due to the massive atk speed.
with the nerf to Frenzy, Tyrant will outdamage destro's, unless the destro is below 30% and stays below 30%

This is a draw, in certain situations each has its advantages, and even without fenzy, a destro can do pretty good against most melee opponents(maybe not the duelists anymore though)

Tyrant....um, yeah, definitely Tyrant on this one.
