As I noticed that the GG version on the PPS seemed newer then the one we have on "live".
I might be mistaken though.
I usually "update" and play the PPS once a week so I sorta know what's coming. Like if the PPS is crashing I know there will be trouble later on "live".
I really don't think enough people play on the PTS server to justify putting updates on there prior to putting on the main server (except before large updates obviously).
I just think it's a version they've "tried" and not bothered using.
As opposed to the Public Test Server, because nothing ever gets tested except for a bunch of kids and their ego-centric lifestyle (that is to say: once the new chronicles come out, it dissolves into a contest).
The Public Perk Server stopped being a Public Test Server since C2 I believe. Anyway carry on.
I sometimes level a bit there like with new characters I still lack on the Live ones.
If low level quests become available I check those out too when I get the time.
Its not public either as you need a paid account to allow access to the PTS.
Everything seemed ok to me the other night. I got my assassin up a couple of levels around Dion. No GG issues at all.
Public test service means it's not limited to just company employees, developers, and the beta team.
It's also a test server in that it's not just the content being tested. New patches are tested there first to see how they behave and to see if it is stable - won't crash every 1-2 hours.
Ok, we're getting away from the OP here, regardless of the definition of PPS/PTS and its access, I had no issues with GG on it or the main servers. Also running from the same PC were 2 other L2 clients for my shops and I had IE6 open on various sites checking my forums etc. GG behaved perfectly.
