SP for 79 skills broken?

Ok, every skillser people have to spend their earned SP for skills.

Each skillset for ever class and every race the SP for all the combined skills adds up to the same amount, includingreducing SP cost for all skils when other skills are added.

At 79 the skills for all classes cost 80mil SP.... Duelists got 1 skill, costing 80mil SP, so do all other classes......

Overlords get 2 skills costing 80 million SP each.. meaning a total of 160million SP. That's the same as the supposed SP cost of level 80 skills....?

The devs seem determined to make it hard to play Overlords, and they aren't too kind to Destroyers tight now. I'm wondering if it's time to organize all 200 or so of us and stage a sit-in.

Ooh, fly to Korea? I'd like a ticket please!

lol, I missed most of C5 since I was in uni.... plus I wasn't 79 then either. :)

actually, lvl 79 skills only came in interlude.....
Yeah, but patch notes info were much more complete for Interlude. I.e. we knew about the Interlude SP problem back in C5.

Well, I was thinking more like Giran. But, flying to Korea and staging a sit-in, with everybody dressed for the part, hmmmm ....
prophets have same problem, 2skills at lvl 79, each 80mil SP
no idea why wcs got one skill at 79 and one at 78...both are so much more useful than both my 79skills together
If you get more skills than another class (assuming they are balanced) they should cost more. Think you should probably focus on skill A from person A costs 80 million and skill B from person B costs 80 million, but A is obviously better than B.

Just be happy you got a level 79 skill.

i think you miss the point moo
at lvl 79 some classes need to spend 160 mil sp for 2 skills
at all other lvls for the most part skills cost the same sp
I know how it works now, and I agree that some classes that get the skills should not have to pay tons of SP. But if they skill is worth it, then yes, they should have to pay for it.
so you think you should pay double the sp for say cancel and aqua splash?

how bout at 77?
makes sense that you should have to pay 5x the sp for ice vortex than a warlord pays for eye of hunter since ice vortex is so much better of a skill
If skills would cost SP according to its usefulness/power. For Spell turning I would get SP, cuz i have never seen more useless skill, especialy for 80mil SP especialy on 79lvl.

Thats bs and you know it.
Obviously you shouldn't have to pay 5x more SP for ice vortex, but I would agree that eye of the hunter should be 5x less. Cancel and aqua spalsh already costs about twice as much and hydro blast too.... SP costs are NOT the same for the pre-76 skills.

And Nya, I also agree with you that the Prophet skill isn't very useful, and thus should not cost much SP.

Just because something is the way it is, doesn't mean it works best that way. Try a little less complaining, and a little more thinking outside the box.
NC is attempting to prevent what has always been a problem before. Lack of SP when new skills are introduced. When mroe 79 skills are introduced they will also cost 80 mil so that everyone spends the same amount on a given level set rather than be like the BD's who blew 64 mil for dance of siren which now costs about 1/3 of that.
well, I have all my skills trained on my HE, I'm 10% into 78 and I have 95m sp leftover... and all my skills at +9/+10...
rofl.... somehow that screams illegal program use.......

78-79 is about 800mil XP/90mil SP (rougly off what mobs give you).

so to have all skills and 92mil spare SP i's either BS or B_T... insert an O where applicable.

Ever die in pvp?

Oh wait.
I would expect someone that has a higher level Hawkeye subclass does a lot of mass PvP where you take non-100% ressurections so you can win the fight
enchanting skills gains you extra sp per xp

what you fail to realize is that for all skill lvls all classes spend about the same sp
unless you are one of those ppl who think dwarves don't have sp problems because they have so few skills (and keep in mind these are all made up numbers but the concept is solid) you will realize that....
at 70 all classes will spend about 4 mil sp for skills
at 74 all classes will spend about 8 mil sp for all skills
at 76 all classes will spend about 30 mil sp for all skills
at 77 all classes will spend about 50 mil sp for all skills
at 78 all classes will spend about 70 mil sp for all skills
at 79 all classes will spend about 80 mil sp for all skills - except some classes don't get any skills yet and some classes spend 160 million sp for all skills

it's the other way around buddy, people who bot and don't pvp usually have a huge lack of sp.

and yea, I never take 100% reses on my he. ever. not worth wasting it. too easy to make xp back at 78.
And there are some skills a lot of people do NOT level because they don't have the SP, and it is a useless skill. So those skills should just stay like they are, and not get leveled until you are 78 with extra SP? Should we not change the way things work now in order to fix that? Dwarfs should continue to to have their skills cost a ton of SP because they get so few, so when they finally (maybe) do get more 75- skills, they have to grind more SP than other classes?

You can't fix the damage that has already been done by the bad SP system, but at least you can fix it for the future
how exactly is it a fix?
when they add new lvl 79 skills for the other classes they will cost 80 million sp total
i'll be the first to admit the sp system is screwed but this very obviously is a bug
And I'm not saying it is correct the way it is now either, but my point is it shouldn't be if you get two skills, both are 40, if you get one, it is 80... that's stupid.
I agree.
I pity archmages for the 1 one skill they get at level 76 that costs them something like 25 mil :/
->
12.5 mil each for the mystic muse at 76 (2 skills)
and something like 10 mil each for the storm screamer (3 skills)

Sometimes you gotta wonder what in the name of $%%& are these developers thinking...

It was worse (archmages 30m for Wisdom, storm screamer 10m each for Dark Vortex, Health, Wisdom), they "fixed" it now (only 15m for Wisdom for Archmages, but still the only skill they get at 76..).

I think the total skill cost per skill set should be the same for all classes - that is a good system, two players of the same level need the same amount of SP to buy all their skills.

But the skills themselves need more balancing. It is simply stupid that when you compare an Archmage and a Storm screamer, the Storm screamer gets the same skill the Archmage gets AND two other skills. The problem is not that the Storm screamer has to pay less for the same skill, it is that he has a higher quality skillset. Either the Archmage needs two extra skills, or his single skill has to be a far more powerful one.
Kind of off topic, but how much sp (about) do you make leveling from 78-79?
think i got about 70 mil but its hard to say with skill enchants and deaths
70 is a safe guess though? With 0 skill enchants.
how much XP is 78-79?

I'm guessing at about 600mil XP, so 70mil SP is a fair guess as you get a little more XP than SP per mob you kill.

I just realised another thing, come CT1 theres another lvl 79 skill for dominators.. I believe this is also 80mil SP making the lvl 79 skillset for a dominator cost a whopping 240mil SP.............

holy ........ that's 50% more than the level 80 skillset (1 skill 160mil SP)....... What's with NC keep messing this game up more?
Yes, it is such a shame they keep giving you skills, they should just take them all away!

And yes, you make about 80 going from 78 to 79, and about 200 going from 79 to 80
they could have fixed this if SP was used for something other than getting skills. what i mean is, when you die, xp% lost is not a straight 4% but is based on the SP that you have and the level you have it, such that people who die a lot lose less, and people that dont die as much lose more. done correctly they wouldnt have ever needed to add the death penalty, because a level 20 toon with 20mil SP just isnt ever going to lose XP on guards. also it would have eliminated their "if you are 76+ XP loss is reduced" addition.
