EE - just wondered ...

I have an EE which I'm levelling at the minute because of the uses an EE has. She is not my main so I only really use her as a healer/buffer type toon.

I was looking at armor stats (she's wearing Divine at the moment) and wondered if people who play EE's as a main or regular toon could answer the following:

Divine will give her a + on her P Def, MP and Wit and that having robe skills increases her P Def.

Light masteries apparently increase P Def, Casting Speed, Attack Speed and MP Regen which to me seems useful to have on an EE.

Therefore can someone tell me why robes are the better choice. I think the reason why this isnt obvious to me is because she isn't my main so I haven't researched her as much and I don't know how much increase the masteries give.

Sorry if I seem like a noob but I'm really not sure what the answer is :D
It's not a silly question. It is one of those things we are so used to, we often skip over it.

There are three passive talents all mystics get at level 1 that increase casting speed, attack speed, and mana regeneration when wearing robes. The light armor mastery does the same thing, but it doesn't do as much as these level 1 passives. Hope this helped!
Never even crossed my mind to look at level one stuff, as you said it's just there.

Thanks for the quick answer, makes sense now :D
MP bonus, Nallypooooo, MP bonus! :) And better cast speed! :o
When I solo I use light and duals...still...it's a little slower but I have a wolf fight with me and we kill pretty quickly...But yeah if you're going to never use my fight style (I know I'm strange) PLEASE USE ROBES.

That is all.
Armor for EE thru S grade: Divine>BW Robes> Majestic Robes(PVM)/DC Robes(PVP).

Majestic Robes(PVM)/DC Robes(PVP).

Majestic Robes(Recharger)/DC Robes(Healer). In PvE too.

dc = tallum for this case. so it's all about your taste.

agreed with quoted.
Depends on your group, if its a mage party Majestic all the way imo (and if EE is your main, your best to level with mages, trust me :p). Difference between Maj and DC for mp management wont be too noticable over a short period of time, but in the long haul its the best. And if you *need* DC for healing....might want to kick your group around, you shouldn't have a prob healing in Majestic :p
Dunno, so far I like different groups. MOS Library polers, IT L archers, Rift minigroups... you name it. In the Library, the difference in castspeed between Majestic and DC could easily result in the difference between pulling 1 or 2 floors at once.
If +2 WIT is the difference between you living and dying... you might want to invest in another healer :)
Indeed. Just drop the EE and invite a Bishop, who can start with GBH and then switch to MH :p

Luckily for us, healers are in short supply.

All I can say is...lol. I'd hate to see your parties.

I've never had a problem healing in the Library when pulling both the top and bottom, and I've always used Majestic. Cast speed is hugely overrated in PvE in my opinion, so it doesn't matter that much which robe set you choose. In PvP I'm sure it's a different story.
At least in one particular party I've been in Library, adding Zerk to an EE in DC changed the first 5 or so seconds of poleing from "quite risky" to "almost safe").

And of course, in a "PvE" IT archer party on Hinde... well sometimes even just PRing from Frankee :o is better to be done in DC.
Well, I guess we've just had different experiences when levelling then :).

Has anyone actually checked the difference in cast time for PR, for an EE in Maj and an EE in DC? I'd not expect the difference to be huge, I doubt it'd even be enough time for a dagger to get an extra stab in. I could well be wrong though (it's happened plenty of times before :p).

It's not huge, it's slightly less than 0.1 sec (according to calculations), but it still gives a dagger an extra chance. The 3-4 sec difference between rez reuse times is more important, though :D
when you only have to heal your self and dont need to use many skills, then light armor is fine. in a party robes are better because of the MP bonus they give. The group will depend on you for heals(maybe buffs too).

also skill reuse... if you gonna use light armor, get your light armor masteries all the way up ! the differance in casting speed is small but is also in relation the the skill you use(some skills have a longer recharge time than others).

True, but most of this comes into play when PvPing if you have to rez so much in PvE then you're in trouble ;).

Really Majestic/Tallum/Dark Crystal are all totally viable robes to use for A grade, and you won't totally gimp your char if you choose any of them. You might just lose an edge in some circumstances if you're wearing one and not the other, which could mean deaths in those cases.

In the end, people should use whatever they feel comfortable with. I actually prefer to use Majestic for the stun resist and the looks (uh oh!), but if I ever felt that I needed higher cast speed regularly then I'd switch to DC.
