Just a little curious as to what intrigued you to go bishop/pp.
At first it was to help other of my friends in grinding having a buffer, but now that WC and pp are highly boxed, I just like being a little unique [Tallum heavy + dragon slayer!]
In my clan, two of us were clerics as we were leveling up in our 20s. The other decided to go Prophet, so I chose Bishop. Part of the reason was I watched prophets sit for 20 minutes, buff, sit for 20 minutes. I took on the healing role and healed, did crowd control, and many other things. It was just much more interesting and participatory than sitting for 20 min/buffing/sitting for 20 minutes, and I wanted an active role.
My class was pretty rare in those days, particularly because SEs could heal so good AND did buffs. But I never lacked for a party, especially because I had a good clan, that we played together all the time. I'm really happy I went this way. I don't think I've ever regretted it, except when I've wanted to wallop someone/mob and smash the living daylights of them!!!
I used to duo with my x-clan leader alot (until he quited the game). My first toon was actually a DA, but then I rerolled as a buffer (prophet) as a like to be a 'human' instead of a dark elf (SE) :p Human always get the best of all classes/ most balanced (as in their str, con, wit, int... and skills - the same class, human gets a bit of both from LE and DE), compared to other races in the same class.
sitting for 20 min/buffing/sitting for 20 minutes
I never have to sit when partying with 5/6 or less members and I assist in melee also (I wear DC robe set with +4 wit tat, so I have a total of -6 men). So in the end, it just depends on how well you can control your MP. With more than 6 party members, there's usually always a recharger somewhere near me ;o
If a live prophet have to sit 18mins/buff/sit 18mins, I'm sure people will prefer a boxed one as they do the same thing as well (except they dont leech exp!!! o.O)... lol.
I get parties all the time. After people have partied with me, they throw their boxed prophet away and rather let me leech their exp :p
My original clan that I started the game with was tiny and we usually grouped with each other in 2 or 3 person parties. For that sort of xping, a prophet seemed like a better choice than a bishop. That and I spent a lot of time following around lower level clan members buffing them. I didn't level quite as fast as I could have because of that, but it helped them all catch up xD
A lot has changed since then, but while none of my original reasons for picking a prophet still apply, I still love my class :)
I originally chose bishop, when I started on Franz, for the sole reason that I love the healer role. And while EE has an awesome skill set, I just need a bit more reason to play an elf. I developed a taste for playing a healer when I made the SE, and we all know how that turned out :/
I didn't play Franz for long, so later on, I made another bishop on Teon, which is now one of my 3 mains :p And I love it.
Funny thing, I was almost forced to start the SE, when me and my clan migrated to Teon. My (then) clan leader implied that it would greatly benefit the clan if I'd roll an SE, to which I replied "Who'd wanna play a healer..?" - I think he was a little offended, being a former EE.
Now I'm glad I gave in and made the SE. Otherwise I'd probably still be of the conviction, that you have to do damage to have fun. And it's an excellent boxed buffer to have, too :)
We moved to retail server w/ another player so we choosed classes to be able to duo. He rolled TH, I rolled prophet cuz it seemd to me to be great class independed on other classes, can heal, support, dd a bit, has some debuffs, undead nuke. Awesome class...well its not what I expected but it doesnt change that I <3 my class.
Back in my early early days I was in my first clan, BlackLocus, in my 20's. There was another cleric, Yiggy, about the same level as myself. Each of us didn't know what to do and we just decided he would go Bishop and I would go Prophet as our clan needed both. I have not seen him in quite some time. I do not regret the decision I have made for my Prophet. I am not one to sit in a group after buffs unless absolutely necessary. At times I need to to make sure I have enough mana for rebuff. Things that help me to keep me fighting: 1) A high level recharger to recharge me if the mana for them allows and 2) Clarity and 3) those underpowered mana elixers. If I have to buff and sit I would shoot myself now. Of course, since I am not critical to actually doing damage, I do have the luxury of getting refreshments as needed - LOL.
Like other bishops here, in my 30's I was in a group with another cleric. She went Prophet, and I went Bishop. While tied up in PvP clans, I have to admit, Bishop wasn't much fun for me. In that environment, people only want us around to rez, or for raids, or to die in pvp. After moving to the Care Bear side of the game, Bishop is awesome, and I love it. I think the key to both classes is finding a good group of people to play with. If you have that, either would be fun. The biggest thing I love about Bishop is it's never the same. With a nuker, you figure out the most efficient way to kill, rinse and repeat. Melee dd's, you pound on mobs. You hardly ever have a repeat experience as a healer. Something is always different, in every group. To me, that's the essence of being a Bishop, and why they are awesome.
But, like all of these questions, you have to do your homework, and decide what fits your play style and desires.

This was my experience too... once they partied with me as a bishop, I was constantly being asked back for parties... realizing that their boxed PP or SE didn't provide the hands-on healing and CC that I could. And, of course, I don't agree about the leech of XP... not by any stretch of the imagination. :P As Boundless says, each party was different, and always kept me interested.
well, Playing bishop at frintezza/antharas/valakas is the most enjoyable pve in this game.
Yep! Last Frintezza raid I was commenting to another bishop how unreal and god-like we were, it was well worth the few chronicles of pain (c3 for example)

You need recharger for more than 6 ppl in party ??
At 78lvl with tallum robe/dc robe i can rebuff full party and keep pof to 8ppl with 1-2-3 recharges sometimes.
I must say prophets aren't gaining much love from NC soft.
I am playing both classes and i must say I'm totally enjoying playing cardinal. If ppl are going to judge prophet only because it's one of the best classes on oly it will always be the same.
The truth is that prophet has no big role on sieges even less on epic raid,... And eventually WC's are going to exchange them,...
They are getting better buffs and for entire party.
And that is the reason why I'm rather spending my time on bishop than hierophant.

Hm.... I said there will be a recharger somewhere near me. I didn't say I need recharges =.=
I quoted, people thinks pp needs to buff, sit 20mins, buff then sit for another 20mins. I pointed out with my situation that the concept is not qft. Learn to read ;p
There will be a recharger somewhere near me meant, if some idiot :p pulls too many mobs (crowd control, backup healing etc...), there won't be a problem about mp when I need to rebuff.
Plus, you didn't say why you selected prophet as your class. I take this personal!!! >:|

Disrupt undead might work until about 52, much like a summoner can nuke their way to 52. Beyond that, I agree with you.
Later!
I never liked using skills from before 40 that are no longer class specific. It feels like using a skill from another class to compensate my classes' inability to do damage and level as the class should (using it's class specific skills or party if almost pure support).
So that undead nuke, once you go prophet, in my book at least, becomes obosolete.
On my SE i've not used it since the 2nd class, i prefer leveling with my PW or seeking out some parties...
But yeah, I guess you can use it up to a pretty high level...
anything w/o cov jeweled archers w/ bd/sws or nukes w/ siren and other stuff...battheal can heal enough to change favour of the fight to my side...and not all pvps are 1+ group vs 1+ group...and in like 2-5ppl, battheal matters imo
gotta be some pretty small scale pvp :P
that one crappy pre 20 skill owns me in olympiad though :(
You're taling about battleheal right ? Power 307? Pre-40 skill, last level is at lvl 36. And I agree, battle heal for a profi is an awsome low level skill.
I even liked it and used it alot on my Sorcy a long time ago, and it's power was only 107. (pre 20 skill for sorc).
